The full-featured integrated platform is giving us the ability to streamline much of the work that was siloed between workflows. Redundancies are dropping away with each implementation of new workflows. We also love the many built-in reports that are putting critical info in front of our team without hours of manual report production and cross-referencing. As we finetune our use of it, we are already seeing how we can utilize it in some other areas we have not anticipated, like our warehouse. Tech support has been excellent as well. **What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?** While they have a great manual for implementing the Quick Books integration, their "Getting Started" support materials were lacking. They offer free live classes and specific videos on each function but I would have liked to see a more detailed manual or checklist that walked us through how the various functions are integrated. It would have saved us some time in the trial and error category. Folks on our team each learn differently and while the videos were fine for some, others really needed a document. **What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?** What initially drew us to Contractor Foreman was trying to find a way to bring our Bidding & Estimating functions into QuickBooks for better reporting and managing the job going forward. We just didn't have a system that captured all the critical info in the bid for tracking the actual work vs the bid. As a result of implementing Contractor Foreman for this solution, we have been able to solve several other problems that were lower on the priority list including Daily Logs and material pulls. ### 2. Contractor Foreman offers most of the features I was looking for, for a price that I can afford. **What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?** I had some issues in my initial syncs. I decided to move from Quickbooks Desktop to Quickbooks Online while integrating with Contractor Foreman. Learning how the two programs integrate is always a challenge, and QBO is not as user-friendly as QBD in fixing errors. I had systems and processes in place that I had built over many years, and it took some trial and error to get CF set up the way I needed it to work. Other than that, the only other issue was reaching someone other than the chat support. The chat support is great for quick answers, but bigger issues will need to be handled by the tech support that is only available by email, which was sometimes challenging to get a response from. Overall they took care of my issues, and the program is working well now. I appreciate that you can suggest/request any feature. I submitted a suggestion, and it was responded to immediately by two different people. Someone even emailed me asking for more details on exactly what I meant. They were already working on my suggestion, but I feel like they probably take all suggestions to heart, which is rare. I also appreciate the number of how-to videos they offer. There is a video for every feature they offer. **What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?** The only minor complaint I can come up with is the demo video meeting I had wasn't the best. The demo associate was still learning the system herself and a bit unorganized, but I still signed up, so she did a fine job. **What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were looking for a better scheduling system as we're expanding, but Contractor Foreman was so much more than that. As a geotechnical drilling company, it was hard to find a program that worked for us because most of the programs we demoed (and we did a lot of demos) were geared more toward building houses. Features are excellent, not just for the money, but for any money! Love the product, we use nearly every aspect of it for our day to day operations, Billing, Estimates, project management, etc. Everything works, extremely happy with the tool and the support, HIGHLY recommend! **What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?** Occasionally there will be a bug somewhere when you are using a newer feature, but they are always rolling out updates and listening to their clients to make the product better. The chat support is very responsive, but they are not nearly as knowledgeable about the product as the trainers, so sometimes scheduling a 1 on 1 training is the only way to get the help you need, depending on how complicated your question is. To date there is not a robust Knowledgebase for the product, just a video library, however, I hear they are rolling out a knowledgebase soon, which hopefully will be a nice addition to the chat support. **What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?** Estimating job costs and scheduling sub-contractors for a project are the most important aspects of this tool for us, and the product does a great job with both. ### 18. It was difficult for the less tech savvy team members to find documents in the field. I've only been using this program lightly for about a month, but can tell that it has way more features than I probably will be using. One of the best features so far, is the customer ability to pay with a CC online, and it all links to your account painlessly. **What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?** I haven't fully been able to figure out the dispatching/scheduling part of the program yet. I think it might be in there, but even with the personalized training session, it seemed to be lacking a little in that regard. I would really like to be able to see my whole dispatch at a glance, knowing which jobs have to be dispatched, and which employees are scheduled. Also being able to send the customer a confirmation email and being able to send the employee a confirmation text would be great. Like I said, I haven't explored it too much, and if it is possible, then even better. **Recommendations to others considering Contractor Foreman:** I would definitely look into it. Hell, first 30 days are free, if you don't see a fit for you, what's the harm? **What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?** I haven't ran across problems that contractor foreman has specifically solved, it's more like, they have centralized all my processes into one place. Instead of using paypal for online payments, it's done thru here, instead of using quickbooks or excel for invoices/estimates, it's done thru here. And instead of trying to remember where every single file is saved in my computer, it's all pretty convenient in CF. ### 26. You can set up a client portal on your website so that your customers can view their project (and you can upload all the pictures to there so you're not trying to shuffle them through email) You can customize your logos, generate estimates & invoices, it integrates with quickbooks (which I haven't gotten to yet but hope to soon) I very much like how responsive everyone is- There's a live chat button, or you can schedule a 1 on 1 if you need help with anything- I've seen some of the other contractor software my partner used to use, and this is way better, and much more reasonably priced. **What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?** I haven't found fault with the software at all. If I have an issue I just ask for live help, and if it's something more complicated they will video call you to get you what you need. The system is designed in such a way that it logs all of the activity to a record. I.e. if you create an estimate or a purchase order within a specific project it is then logged within that project record. The system then uses the data in the estimate such as the value/line items/supplier details etc and allocates it to the projects financials. Great all-in-one construction based project management software. **What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?** Lacks integration with Other software (although a small amount of actions/triggers are now available through Zapier) The user interface is a bit outdated and boring. A small detail I guess, but when you're using it everyday it would be nice to be a bit more colourful and intuitive (I've spoken to the developers and directors and they say that this is currently being discussed internally and to expect a UI update on the near future). **What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?** Project management in general. It's easy to custom tailor it to your company's workflow, and we were able to get started using it right away. The project and group chats helped to get all managers and supervisors asking and answering questions in the same place, thereby reducing phone calls and repeat text messages. Customer support is EXCELLENT, with extended hours of operation for chat and phone support. **What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?** The mobile app can be a little slow when trying to load projects, and the scheduling module is not as robust as we'd like (we are currently using Deputy for day-to-day employee schedules). It has been extremely easy to switch from Sage 300 to Contractor Foreman. **Recommendations to others considering Contractor Foreman:** If you are needing something effective and reasonably priced, I would highly recommend Contractor Foreman. It will be hard to change after this. **What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?** Out of the two years we have been with Contractor Foreman, we have had one day (2 hours) where it was down. The software is flexible/customizable so it can be set up the way you run your business not forcing us to make our business fit the software. It's updated monthly with new features being added. They take suggestions and allow users to "thumbs up" other user's suggestions. The price is very reasonable compared to competitors. In addition to the new features added monthly, I continue to find features I didn't know already existed. **What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?** No real downsides to speak of. Minor issues I've had have been resolved through their online chat. **Recommendations to others considering Contractor Foreman:** I tried several of the most well know project management programs out there. I had heard of contractor foreman as I was initially searching for a management program but I was actually sceptical because the price is a third or less than the most well know programs and I figured it must be an inferior product. I wish I hadn't wasted my time and money with those programs. In my opinion Contractor Foreman offers all of the same features and more than those other programs at a much more reasonable price. **What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?** Project estimating, managemtn, invoicing, scheduling employees, etc. ### 42. And, of course, we like the price. You absolutely will not find another software suite at this price point that will do what this does. We have had some issues with it syncing with Quickbooks and messing up tax code issues. Although I was a little abrasive about it taking months to get fixed, and the solution's communication, it was nevertheless fixed and made right. Steven specifically deserves an afternoon off ono the golf course for working through this with us. **What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?** I dislike the schedule function, the ability to group jobs by employee and see them all with a different color simultaneously. Almost like a Google or Outlook calendar works. It needs to function a lot more like that. And the fact that there is something called Calendar and something called Schedule really bothers me. The naming and function in these areas leave a lot to be desired. We completely don't use it and have not had success with their support staff finding solutions for us. We stumped the trainer, so let that tell you whatever it does. **What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's the best all-in-one source we've found yet. And we've looked at just about all of them. ### 43. AND - they just keep adding features for no additional cost to the loyal base. We're grandfathered in for life - unlimited users!! The investment is minimal and the payoff is great. Amazing project management including staff scheduling. Geolocation of employees in the field and an incorporated time card app. Equipment management - tracking oil changes and fixes live with all employees in the field and shop. FULL - REAL - TWO WAY communication with Quickbooks Desktop. Others say they do, and they really don't. HR documentation - and permission differences with each job category. Field photo management uploaded directly to our system. Safety field inspections and meetings, documented live with photos attached. Job site daily logs - giving customers update as well as in house. Issues documentation. The list goes on!! ### 44.
