I really appreciate Budgyt for its simplicity in both uploading data and providing straightforward presentation while still offering the ability to drill down for more detailed information. This feature is incredibly useful as it allows managers to review department income statements efficiently and provides the finance team with an easy way to identify any coding oddities. Additionally, the initial setup process for Budgyt was very easy, which made the integration seamless for our team. Furthermore, the ability of Budgyt to give managers access to only the information they need streamlines our operations. I would like to have demos of all the features, as there are aspects like the FTE/payroll piece that we are not currently using. I love Budgyt for its ease of use and intuitive design. It has made budgeting and forecasting much simpler for our small nonprofit organization. The platform is incredibly user-friendly, not only for me but also for others in my team, as it is quite easy to teach them how to use it. This intuitive interface has greatly streamlined what used to be a complex and cumbersome process in Excel, significantly enhancing our productivity. Furthermore, the initial setup was pretty straightforward, thanks to the supportive team at Budgyt. They took the time to understand our organization's needs and mapped everything out for us, which made the transition seamless. I find that Budgyt has limitations with its integration capabilities. Although there have been significant updates to allow for automatic downloads directly from QuickBooks into Budgyt, it currently only supports automation with one company at a time. This limitation is inconvenient, especially when managing multiple entities, and it would be beneficial if the automation could be expanded to accommodate multiple companies simultaneously. I love Budgyt for its ease in managing our non-profit organization’s budget and financial reporting. The ability to easily view actuals and update projections using our cost-centered model of accounting is invaluable. I find dissecting our financial information through Budgyt's multiple dashboard views to be particularly impressive, simplifying complex financial data into understandable insights. It is great for annual fixed budgets and getting participation from other managers for their areas. Can restrict to just department or accounts that they they manage. Each month I create a forecast, containing combinations of imported actuals with future months as budget. The future months then edited to what managers think will happen, to create a forecast. Can have monthly to prior year and fixed budget while in an account Data Sheet, so can easily see how your forecast compares. Simple to close a forecast to create a new one. And lock prior months as necessary. Bonus is the search field. I can look for something in Actuals scenario, that is easy to find than in our accounting software. Also can run better reports on Actuals, than our accounting software. Support is great, direct help form James the founder himself. Implementation was pretty easy, considering we have 2 companies, multiple departments and require consolidation. We use Budgyt monthly. Very easy to import and export data to our accounting software. Can't think of anything! Maybe just when I clone a scenario and deactivate the prior months formulas, I can't edit even the future months HR formula because there are annual limits that are used. My original estimate was a guess, and now I know what % or annual limits on certain payroll taxes are, but cannot change. James did suggest a workaround though. After a few months, tried to add Balance Sheet module , but turned out to be too complicated for us, and not worth the effort to maintain. Where do I start? Budgeting is the most important part of the accounting cycle, in my mind. If there is not an understanding of how funds come in and go out (and a plan for tracking/managing those funds), how can an organization measure their performance and determine where they are going? Budgyt is a powerful tool that can help your organization with financial management.

The implementation team is knowledgeable and helps you get off the ground. The support team is there for follow up questions. The features in Budgyt are easy to learn/use and can be customized to fit your organization's needs. The employee module and related HR formulas are great tools to help budget and forecast personnel costs. Speaking of forecasting, that is another one of my favorite features. Through creation of different scenarios, it's easy to view data under multiple assumptions. Budget does not break like an Excel workbook can break, and does not require extensive knowledge of advanced Excel functions in order to perform budgeting and forecasting tasks. I have the fortunate opportunity to work with Budgyt on an almost-daily basis and it's one of the reasons I love my job! We work exclusively with nonprofits and it's an affordable, feature-packed tool that helps our clients budget in a collaborative and transparent manner, with the end goal of Budgyt providing timely, accurate and useful information that helps drive decision-making. If you/your teams aren't super familiar with accounting practices, it could be confusing to use as a stakeholder. Additionally, I wish I could have two different views open at the same time. For example, if I'm trying to have my budget view open and make updates to my Actuals, I can't have the line items open on two different screens. This causes me to have to screenshot budget items to update on a different screen. It's not ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Being able to clone the prior year budget saves me so much time when starting a new year's budget. It is so easy to make changes and compare the previous year's budget to the current year. Love the Budgyt platform! Very intuitive and easy to use, with capabilities that allow users to get more detailed and complicated as needed. Allows us to enter data in detail (or summary) in a way that makes it incredibly accessible and easy to read for non-finance users, which is ultimately a huge time saver for our finance team. Everyone on the Budgyt team that I have spoken to or worked with from sales to support (including the CEO & founder who took one of my training/implementation calls) has been awesome. The training was great (the video academy might be my single favorite & most-used/recommended training feature in any program ever), onboarding and implementation were made super easy (as far as those things go), and ongoing support (on the rare occasions it's been needed; it's been mostly out-of-the-box questions/ideas that I've brought up post-go-live) is excellent & very personable - huge shout-out to "budgyt guru" Aileen who has been immensely helpful from day 0 to the present, anticipating our needs at times before we even did. My only 'complaint' is that, while several additional features that have been implemented since we began using Budgyt (dashboards, cash flow, balance sheet) I am still anxiously awaiting the #1 item on my wishlist - live integration with Sage Intacct API to eliminate manual import of actual data. Budgyt has been a game changer for our organization. After one budget season went up in flames with a large Excel spreadsheet error, we needed something different. We reviewed the market for budgeting systems and fairly quickly selected Budgyt. Of key value to us was a seamless and quick interface with Quick Books Online, which Budgyt features. With our Budgyt implementation we can effectively ‘layer’ our budgeting process. In our case this allows for independent budgets based on geographical location that can then be consolidated for a full organization roll-up. Layers could also easily be product lines or large departments. The user interface for Budgyt is streamlined and easy to use, particularly for non-technically oriented employees. Timeframes and included roll-up layers can be easily selected or removed. During our implementation we had some key questions that were handled rapidly and clearly by the Budgyt implementation team, as well as a large and continually evolving online learning system. Not every module of Budgyt is likely to be needed for most implementations. We do not use the Employee module, which is handled in a separate HR system. There is also a learning curve to using Budgyt, mostly for the implementation team, but it is quite intuitive for basic system users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

More than 95% of our costs are payroll and contractor related and we are global company with employees and contractors in approx 30 countries. Budgeting against those costs in Excel spreadsheets was a nightmare. Budgyt has made this so much easier and saved us a huge amount of time.
