
I think the dashboard is simple but well done. We can scan products quickly and thanks to our external handheld the data transfer works perfectly. The Software cost is reasonable. The on-boarding process is very well supported. The Server and workstation software install is trivial as the on-boarding support person fills in most of the blanks. The knowledge base is large and answers most questions. Support is excellent. The support for QuickBooks is great but see my dislikes if you plan on using this software. I don't think Acctivate understands much about State and Federal Compliance Regulation and they should since this is a business financials driven application. If you are using Office 365 (the 64-Bit version) it is not supported, email does not work (in App) to send invoices from the Acctivate App to your customers. The Acctivate suggested Workaround is to install an SMTP Relay. This is a SERIOUS SECURITY VULNERABILITY, if you setup an SMTP Relay you will be sending customer account information in a clear text email which anyone can read, so invoices with account numbers can also be read BY ANYONE. I sent a very long worded email to an acctivate rep about this on April 7th and have received no response, today is April 12th. https://hub.acctivate.com/articles/sending-email-with-office-365 is the Link from the acctivate Knowledge Base on their Website support page which discuses the 64-Bit workaround. The only way to fix this issue is to build an SMTP Relay and add an SSL/TSL certificate which will cost ~$400.00 for 5 years. If you install the certificate it likely wont fix the issue unless you also configure an IIS server, so you need a web server to fix an email issue. Additionally, Acctivate does not even hint at installing a security certificate in their support guide. The current version of Acctivate is 11.0 SP1 which was just released and is only a 32-Bit application, so if you have a large organization that will be using this Application your going to run out of memory on your host server at the 4GB ceiling, 32-Bit apps have a 4GB memory limit no matter how much memory your server has installed. Microsoft deprecated Office-365 32-Bit in September 2018. Not Supporting 64-Bit Office is an issue, suggesting a workaround that does not meet current State and Federal Compliance Regulations is an even bigger issue. The best feature is the self contained robustness that acctivate offers. From an inventory standpoint, we can set all kinds of min/max values and really keep tabs on our products. It can generate tons of reports and custom ones can be made as well.
In addition, from a sales side, it stores plenty of addresses and the process of submitting a PO or invoicing the order is a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does have a few perceived shortcomings.
1) Very heavy on the graphic resources: This often leads to improper shut downs of the program, visual errors and memory issues. This has some to do with our choices in hardware, but it is very resource intensive.
2) Pre-auth: Some programs will allow your pre-auth to be adjusted in the upward direction. Acctivate is not one of those. You must delete it and then charge separately (effectively removing double funding from your customer).
3) Sensitive order of operations: There are some actions that must be done in order. If you don't, you end up in an endless error loop that could eat of 5 minutes of your time. For example, if you have a dropship D and a lot number assigned. If you change it to a Stock Shipment (P) before removing the lot number, you will end up in an error loop.
4) Windows: You are only able to have a finite (20's ish for me) amount of windows open. Furthermore, the window button only shows you 10 active windows. So if you are using 15, you can't switch directly to them using the window tab.

I really like that orders are very neat and the software is very easy to use if you do not make mistakes. All the functions are intuitive and do not take very long to learn, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If you make a mistake with some of the functions like inventory or cost landed, then fixing those mistakes can be very time consuming and difficult. The support often takes longer than we would like. The software integrates well with Quickbooks Enterprize (QBE). Our QBE file had grown to an unruly slow size because of our large inventory. We had to do something before our system failed as Intuit was warning us the file size was getting too large and they could not fix issues with the file. Using Acctivate solved this issue for us and at the same time provided us with a fairly good CRM solution which was another problem we were facing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I do wish it was better at reports. Some of the reports that I would like don't exist without Crystal Reports and Crystal Reports seems very expensive per user. I wish I didn't need Crystal Reports to get what I need.
Sometimes Acctivate is glitchy and just closes down. Some times it changes the number of pieces I enter on the line items. It does not transfer the invoice reports to Quickbooks very well at all. All of our customer part numbers have to go in the special instructions field but this field does not show up if we email the invoice from Quickbooks. The reorder tab constantly crashes and glitches. This means I have to manually force Acctivate to close. This also happens when trying to attach something to purchase orders. If I click something to take away from uploading it will glitch and that is the only screen that will appear when I try to close and go into anything else till I close the entire program. I like the business activities the best. They are tied into every aspect of the software, and can completely be customized to the business's need. I also think the Lot numbered inventory management is great, We keep much better track of our inventory. That you can not open Vendor Invoices in Acctivate. . That it doesn't record every person that made changes to invoices, or sales orders, etc. When posting inventory counts it doesn't show me the current count, but it does show what the system has for the current count on the count sheets. It should be both. Once you enter a count you should be able to adjust it in case there was a mistake during entry. That I can't alter a quantity while creating a PO in the reorder screen. That half of the reports aren't complete. Example: reports - order processing - salesperson sales - your fields are only date and salesperson. The name of the report is Product class by salesperson you don't even offer the product class.
On alot of the reports the fields are defaulted to egual to and you don't have the option to change it.
Another thing is 40% of the time you when you are trying to sign in you can't get your log in to pop up.
