"Excellent GST Compliance, Cost-Effective Alternative"
What do you like best about Zoho Books?

I use Zoho Books for accounting, mainly invoicing and GST management. It has great GST compliance in India and is cheaper compared to other tools. The automatic calculation of GST and the assistance during GST filing save me a lot of valuable time and reduce mistakes. Additionally, Zoho Books integrates well with other Zoho apps and was easier for us to work with our CA, who also uses Zoho Books. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

There are still a few issues with GSTIN and that could be improved and sometimes I need to upload on the GST portal myself. Also, it doesn't work sometimes with complex GST scenarios. There is a learning curve for people who aren't accountants or CAs but it was still quite easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Platform That Streamlines Customers, Estimates, and Invoices"
What do you like best about Zoho Books?

The different segments of information we work with – customers, estimates, invoices, credit notes – are easily accessible and well connected. We implemented it in our workflow and it helped reduce the number of additional platforms to refer to the same amount of information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

With many features, it's not uncommon that we're not using all of them or perhaps using all of them to their full capacity, but this isn't something to dislike. It's tricky to find an issue with the platform, as we find it meets all our needs so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Interface, Strong Support"
What do you like best about Zoho Books?

I use Zoho Books for accounts, and I like the employee payrun and tax calculations in the payroll part. It's also helpful that if I have questions regarding usage, there's an option for a helpline number, which I can call for resolutions. I can maintain and verify data vendor-wise, which I find quite beneficial. The initial setup was easy as I started with a free trial and then bought the services without facing any challenges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

I find it limiting that I can't run payroll more than once in a month. If a startup company doesn't maintain a sufficient balance to pay all employees at one time, they should be able to run another payroll later in the month to release additional payments. I reached out to the Zoho team for this request, but they said there's no option for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Accounting with Effortless Setup"
What do you like best about Zoho Books?

I really like the fact that Zoho Books is connected to inventory, which I use a lot. Anytime I create an invoice, it goes to Books immediately. The ease of downloading a PDF and the ability to send it via email is pretty good. I haven't tried the WhatsApp API yet, but it's something I might do in the future. I also love how easy and seamless the experience is and how easy it is to connect all the other apps within Zoho. Initial setup was a piece of cake, really easy to use, which helped me and even made it easier for my dad, who's not getting any younger, to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

I think it would be good if we were able to create new accounts and maybe create new kinds of payments not tied to something specific. The nature of my business is kind of different, so I would like more flexibility when it comes to setting things up at first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Accounting, Needs Scalability Improvements"
What do you like best about Zoho Books?

I use Zoho Books for all types of accounting work, including managing invoices, calculating expenses or taxes, and generating reports. I appreciate that it has improved compliance, especially for tax or GST, and offers transparent, real-time reports that make things super easy. The interface is easy to understand, allowing even non-account staff to perform basic tasks, and it enables faster analysis for quicker decision-making. Zoho Books also integrates with banks, saving us time by allowing us to easily fetch bank statements and eliminate duplicate or wrong entries for a smooth workflow. Additionally, we sync data with Zoho CRM and use payment gateways or Excel tools to get complex reports of multiple locations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

To maintain a single location and business it is good but as we are expanding we face some issues in managing different locations, or batch wise tracking. Now it is working well but as we are expanding and details are increasing we are facing some problems in maintaining it. Scalability can be impacted as we expand to a certain limit, with increasing departments and products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ideal Simplicity, But Improvement in Integration Necessary"
What do you like best about Zoho Books?

I like that Zoho Books is simple, both for organizing and for managing and configuring it. When I implemented the purchase order, notifications are sent directly to each of the users, allowing them to enter, view their account, and know when they were paid. It's super simple. I also found that the initial setup was super easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

The integration with other modules is not very good. For example, we wanted to implement Zoho Recruit, but once a person is entered, they do not automatically appear in Zoho Books, which makes each module independent and not interact with each other. Additionally, it is quite complex not being able to see the emails we send internally to each person, which is inconvenient for tracking the email history. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Accounting with Outstanding Features"
What do you like best about Zoho Books?

I like Zoho Books for its bank fetching feature, where all my bank accounts are linked and all transaction details are shown, allowing me to categorize them according to income and expenses. I appreciate that Zoho Books solves all my accounting-related problems with features like invoicing, billing, and bank account autofeed. The ability to extract sales and purchase reports is also useful to understand business performance. I used to use Excel for accounting, which was difficult for bank transaction mapping, but now Zoho Books does it automatically, saving me from manual efforts. It's very easy to use, and the Zoho customer support team helps with the initial setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

I think Zoho Books' mobile app is not at its best; there's improvement required on it. I think the user interface can be improved in it and sometimes there is a server or network issue while using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Perfect Free Solution for Small Business Bookkeeping"
What do you like best about Zoho Books?

Easy way to manage books and expenses, especially for a small business owner. I particularly enjoy that there is no cost for single-owner businesses, and that it still includes the majority of features that the paid plans do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

The interface isn't the easiest to understand right off the bat, but it doesn't take too long to get acclimated to the terms and breakdown of how it's laid out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable Cloud Accounting with Strong Features"
What do you like best about Zoho Books?

Zoho Books stands out for its intuitive, user-friendly interface and strong automation features. I like how easily it handles invoicing, expense tracking, and bank reconciliation, while also offering seamless integration with other Zoho apps. It’s ideal for small businesses looking for an affordable, all-in-one cloud accounting solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

The downside of Zoho Books is that some advanced features, like complex inventory management or multi-currency handling, can be limited compared to bigger accounting platforms. Reporting options, while solid, can feel less flexible for very detailed analyses, and customer support can sometimes be slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ideal Accounting Solution for Freelancers"
What do you like best about Zoho Books?

I use Zoho Books for my small freelance business and I really like how it keeps everything organized and saves me a ton of time. The invoices look professional right out of the box and clients can pay online with one click, thanks to the flawless Stripe integration. Auto bank feeds and reconciliation save me so much time as well, eliminating any need for manual entry nonsense. Recurring invoices and payment reminders running on autopilot is another big plus, and the price is much cheaper than QuickBooks but still feels just as capable for a small setup. The mobile app is great—letting me snap receipts and log expenses on the go. I love how simple and clean Zoho Books is—everything just works without feeling overwhelming. It's straightforward, affordable, and keeps my freelance finances running smoothly without stressing me out. The switch from QuickBooks was smooth too, and the importing process was very straightforward. For a one-person business, Zoho Books helps me get paid faster and lets me focus on doing the actual work instead of chasing paperwork. Love it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho Books?

Customer support can be slow: Chat is usually okay, but if I need something more complex (like a weird tax setup), ticket responses sometimes take 24–48 hours. Advanced customizations are tricky: Things like deeply customized workflows or reports take some digging into their developer tools or modules. Inventory features feel basic: If I ever need more than simple tracking, I hear it’s not as robust as dedicated tools. No built-in payroll in all regions: Payroll integration is limited depending on where you are. Occasional small UI quirks: Like the search function not always finding old transactions quickly, or needing a few extra clicks for some actions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
