"Wati Streamlines WhatsApp Client Communication with Powerful Automation and a Shared Inbox"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Wati?

As Design Operations & Client Partnership Manager at Nova Brand Design Collective, I manage B2B client partnership coordination, multi-phase design project scheduling, freelance creative vendor oversight, and SaaS tool evaluation for our US mid-sized brand design agency. Our 51–200-person team does not have a large dedicated IT team, and Wati’s WhatsApp business automation and shared inbox functionality stands out as our most valuable tool for streamlining real-time client communication during fast-paced brand design sprints.

Wati’s drag-and-drop bot flow builder saves me roughly six hours each week by automating repetitive client check-ins and asset request reminders. Before implementing Wati, our account managers spent hours sending manual follow-up messages over WhatsApp to collect brand reference files, client approvals, and feedback on logo drafts and brand guideline documents. Important messages would get buried in personal chat threads, leading to delayed feedback and missed milestones on brand launch timelines. Now I build custom bot sequences tailored to each design project phase. For a recent SaaS startup brand identity project, I set up a triggered flow that sends a personalized WhatsApp reminder three days after we share initial logo concepts, with direct links to the design preview portal and a simple multiple-choice prompt for clients to flag their preferred direction. This automated sequence cut manual follow-up messages for that project by over 70% and kept our design sprint on schedule.

I also rely heavily on Wati’s shared team inbox and conversation tagging system. Multiple team members including account managers, lead designers and vendor coordinators can access the same WhatsApp client thread, tag conversations by project stage, and leave internal notes that clients cannot see. When working with a regional manufacturing client on their brand refresh, our lead designer was able to jump into the existing WhatsApp thread, review prior client comments, and respond quickly without waiting for the account manager to forward screenshots and feedback. Tags such as “awaiting client approval”, “reference assets needed”, and “final brand guide review” let me filter conversations in seconds and identify projects at risk of falling behind schedule.

An unexpected benefit I’ve discovered is Wati’s broadcast segmentation feature for delivering time-sensitive project updates to multiple stakeholders within one client organization. Many of our B2B clients have cross-functional review teams including marketing leaders, product heads and executive decision-makers. We can segment broadcast lists and send tailored updates: marketing contacts receive previews of visual brand assets, while executives get concise milestone summaries. During a retail brand rebrand rollout, segmented broadcasts ensured every stakeholder received relevant updates without flooding people with unnecessary design files, reducing confusion and speeding up final sign-off for our brand deliverables.

For our mid-sized design agency without a large IT team, Wati unifies WhatsApp client communication in a shared workspace and automates routine outreach. It reduces manual follow-up labor, keeps all client conversation history tied to individual design projects, and enables seamless handoffs between account managers and creative team members. This improved communication workflow helps us gather client feedback faster, reduce delays in design sprints, and consistently hit tight brand launch deadlines. What do you dislike about Wati?

As Design Operations & Client Partnership Manager at Nova Brand Design Collective, I oversee B2B client partnership coordination, multi-phase design project scheduling, freelance creative vendor oversight, and SaaS tool evaluation for our US-based mid-sized brand design agency. Our 51–200-person team does not have a large dedicated IT team, and while Wati streamlines WhatsApp client communications, its rigid template approval workflow, rule-only bot logic, limited multi-channel support, and file size restrictions create recurring friction when sharing heavy brand design assets during tight brand launch timelines.

The most significant pain point is Meta’s mandatory template approval process for outbound proactive messages, which Wati cannot bypass. Any automated reminder or update we send to clients must first be submitted for review, and small edits to copy, links, or asset descriptions require re-submission and another waiting period. During a recent B2B manufacturing brand identity sprint, I revised an automated message to include a direct link to our brand style guide preview. That minor text change forced the template back into Meta’s approval queue, delaying our scheduled reminder to collect client feedback by nearly 24 hours. We could not trigger the bot sequence until approval cleared, pushing back our feedback deadline and creating unnecessary stress for the design team waiting for stakeholder input.

Wati’s bot builder also relies purely on rule-based flows with no native natural language understanding. When clients reply with open-ended questions about design revisions, asset formats, or timeline adjustments, the bot cannot interpret nuanced language and defaults to generic fallback prompts. For a SaaS startup rebrand project, the client’s CMO replied to our automated reminder with a complex question about color palette licensing terms. The bot failed to detect the intent and sent a generic prompt asking to select from pre-defined options, confusing the stakeholder. Our account manager had to jump in manually to resolve the misunderstanding, and we spent extra time reworking the bot branches to cover more potential client responses, adding hours of flow maintenance work.

Wati also lacks native multi-channel inbox functionality; it only centralizes WhatsApp messages, while our client communications still arrive across email, project management tools, and website contact forms. Our team must toggle between separate platforms to pull together full client conversation history. When managing a retail brand refresh with multiple stakeholders, client feedback arrived partly via Wati WhatsApp threads and partly inside our project management platform. Our designers missed a critical comment about packaging mockups that came through email, leading to a revision round that could have been avoided if all channels lived in one unified workspace.

Additionally, strict media file size limits inside Wati hamper our ability to share high-resolution design previews directly. Our brand mockups, PDF brand guidelines and large PNG logo files often exceed the platform’s document and image limits. We cannot attach full design assets directly in messages and are forced to host files on our cloud asset manager and paste external links for every client preview. During a busy brand launch campaign, this meant creating dozens of separate share links and adding extra manual steps for every design review round.

An unexpected pain point we uncovered is shallow reporting on client engagement. Wati tracks message delivery and open rates, but it cannot map WhatsApp interactions to our project milestones or flag at-risk design projects automatically. I had to export raw Wati message data and merge it manually with our project management spreadsheet each month to quantify how communication delays impacted brand launch deadlines.

For our mid-sized brand agency without a large IT team, Wati’s template approval delays, rigid rule-based bots, WhatsApp-only inbox and media size constraints create extra manual work for our account and design teams. These limitations slow feedback collection, increase revision risk, and add administrative overhead that pulls focus from managing design sprints and freelance creative vendors. "Makes Event WhatsApp Communication Easier and More Organized"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Wati?

What I like most about Wati is that it makes WhatsApp communication much easier to manage for events. We use it for registration confirmations, reminders, event updates, and follow-ups with attendees. Earlier, many of these messages had to be handled manually, which took a lot of time.

With Wati, we can create templates, manage contacts, and send messages in a more organized way. I also like that the platform gives us better control over our communication instead of managing everything manually. The AI support for reviewing template content is also helpful when preparing templates for submission, especially when we want to make sure the message is suitable as a utility message.

Overall, Wati has made our event-related WhatsApp communication more structured and easier to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wati?

One thing I dislike about Wati is that sometimes the template review and approval process can take some time, especially when we are preparing messages for an upcoming event. It would be helpful if the approval process was a little faster and the reason for rejection was more specific, so we can understand exactly what needs to be changed.

I also feel that some notifications or error messages could be clearer. A more detailed explanation of the issue and the next step would make it easier to resolve problems quickly.

These are relatively small issues for us, but improving them would make the overall experience smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Wati’s AI Makes Template Creation and Submission So Much Easier"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Wati?

The best thing I find useful in Wati is its AI tool. It helps me a lot when I’m working on a new template. For example, when I create a utility template and try to submit it, the Wati AI tool lets me know before submission if it sounds like marketing and suggests that I change it a bit. It even recommends what to change, which is really helpful for me, and that’s the best part. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wati?

There isn’t much I dislike about Wati. Sometimes it shows unnecessary toast notifications saying “404 resource not found,” but they only appear for a few seconds or minutes and should be easy to fix quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Integration, but Performance Could Improve"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Wati?

I really like Wati's advanced integration with Meta, which saves me from worrying about updates, as releases on Wati are very fast. The chat support is very efficient in case any problem arises. The robust API allows me to make any integration to make the use of Wati more complete for my team. Additionally, the price is affordable, allowing us to use Wati without financial difficulties, and the user-friendly interface makes it easy for my team to use. The initial setup was also incredibly easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wati?

My Wati is slow, they could change the servers. I believe that because my account is on a simple plan and I have few licenses, they leave me in a low-performance shared environment. I hope this will be improved in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless integration with Shopify and message automation that simplifies orders"
4/5
What do you like best about Wati?

Wati has been our messaging platform for over 3 years. What we love most is its integration with our Shopify store and the ability to send automated messages to all our customers with notifications about their orders and shipping updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wati?

Most of the time, opening the platform takes too long. I think the loading time could be better. On the other hand, they are constantly integrating new features, but almost all new features are only available for higher-value plans, and honestly, the cost is too high for the use we give it. "Game-Changing WhatsApp Automation for Meta Ad Lead Follow-Up"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Wati?

I really like the WhatsApp integration feature, which helps me create automation sequences and workflows to manage the leads we get from Meta ads. Now, all replies are handled by WATI instead of our team having to manage them manually like before, and no lead follow-up gets missed. That’s been a real game changer for our automobile software company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wati?

The integrations could be simplified a bit. It’s not a major concern for us, but it’s still an area that could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless API Integration and Reliable Performance for Streamlined Lead Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Wati?

What I like best about Wati is its seamless integration capabilities and reliable performance. The API integration process is straightforward, which makes it easy to connect with our existing systems and automate workflows. It has helped us improve lead management efficiency and streamline communication. The platform performs consistently well, with quick response times and smooth day-to-day operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wati?

One area where Wati could improve is in customization flexibility for certain workflows, as some advanced use cases require extra setup. At times, response handling and dashboard navigation can feel a bit limited when managing large volumes of leads. Improving these areas would make the platform even more efficient. "Call functions not working - zero support"
0/5
What do you like best about Wati?

The Wati system is easy to use and to setup Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wati?

Unfortunately, our experience with WATI has been very disappointing.

Since day one, we experienced functionality issues with WhatsApp calling. When clients called us, we often could not hear them, meaning we had to hang up and call them back every time. This made the calling functionality practically unusable for our business.

We reported the issue more than three times, but instead of receiving proper technical or personal support, we mostly received automated/AI-style responses that did not resolve the problem. For a business communication platform, the lack of effective human support was particularly frustrating.

As the system was not functioning properly for our needs, we requested a refund. This was declined. We had also purchased additional conversation credits and still have approximately USD 50 remaining, but we were informed that this balance would not be refunded either.

Overall, we paid for a service that did not function reliably for us, received inadequate support despite repeatedly reporting the issue, and were unable to recover our remaining credit balance.

Based on our experience, I cannot recommend WATI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient, User-Friendly CRM with Room for Analytical Growth"
4/5
What do you like best about Wati?

I really like how Wati makes it easy for us to create workflows. It's super convenient because even though there are templates, we can customize them to suit our needs. The ability to connect to other platforms through webhook and API is another feature we appreciate. Wati is also quick to update and adapt to changes, like when WhatsApp introduced business calls, Wati had that feature available really fast compared to the local competitors. I also enjoy the UI/UX of Wati; it's super easy to understand even without a sales representative training you. Additionally, the workflows help us filter out hundreds to thousands of customer inquiries, turning them into more qualified leads, which is really helpful for our business. We also use the broadcast feature extensively, which stands out for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wati?

I think one thing that I really want to be improved is the dashboard. The analytical dashboard could be better because we heavily use the tagging system, but we can't see that on the analytics channel. It would be beneficial to filter out leads based on tagging and have a custom dashboard for it. So, the dashboard and analytical page are areas that I think could be improved.
