"Hyper V migration to Scale HC3"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

I like the failover protection the HC3 cluster provides in the event of failure. I also believe the dashboard is very intuitive, and easy to manage all VM's from one screen is nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

I disliked using carbonite to migrate my Hyper V VM's into Scale. I think scale needs to implement software for the migration rather than a third party for ease of use and compatibility. My other complaint was having to adjust resolution in the bios for older VM's with no way to add a delay in the bootup process, the VM's boot so quickly it would take multiple reboots to get into the bios to make adjustments. I think adding the option for an artificial delay on boot for bios access would help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Choice for Virtualization of Servers!"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

We have been on Scale since March 2021 and will never go back to any other virtual solution! Since at Maconaquah we have been on Citrix and VMware and without question, this solution is simple and just works. The support at Scale is the best I have ever dealt with. You can start a support chat and they will respond quickly and assist with whatever Scale needs we have. It has a small company feel but with big company results. I also love how they combine the storage, computing, and OS all in one! I am not an expert in server management so this solution has allowed me to look good without requiring a ton of time and effort on my side! I highly recommend this solution for anyone that wants a fast, reliable and user friendly solution to a complex problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

The only dislike I have is not having a robust 2FA option. We have moved to Cisco Duo for 2FA and we would like to see Scale implement something that integrates with Cisco Duo moving forward. Other than that, no complaints! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A reduction in complexity with great service and a quality product."
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

We previously had a SAN and *Major Player* Virtualized Cluster, and going to SCALE has been refreshing. It is easy to use the interface, set up our DR node, and get assistance from SCALE when we had questions. So far, we have been live with SCALE across two sites for around six months, and I would highly recommend considering them if you aren't ready for Cloud or want to reduce some of your complexity. What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

We have an Intel NUC Cluster at one site, and one downside is the lack of more than one ethernet port. This has not caused us issues and we have redundancy across our Cluster but is a limitation of the smaller deployments. The only other complaint is that in our HE500 cluster, you wouldn't want to sit near these because the fans are very loud and vary drastically speed/noise output. "Rock Solid System"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

We have been using the Scale Platform for about 8 years now. The system has been really solid and when we have needed any assistance, Scale has been very responsive and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

For me, there have been no downsides to using Scale. Maybe for someone that is really driven to get into the operating system that might be a frustration - but that's not me! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Migrated from VMware to Scale Computing."
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

One of my favorite features of Scale Computing’s HC3 platform is how unbelievably fast you can clone or snapshot a VM. While writing this, I am cloning a VM in my old VMware environment, and it is 67% done after two hours. I just cloned the same VM in my Scale cluster in less than a minute!

You can easily clone a VM to test an update and roll back if necessary. This same cloning technology can replicate VMs to another Scale server for DR purposes. It is extremely easy to use.

The UI in Scale is very user-friendly and provides all the needed information at a glance. You will see a view of all RAM, Disk, IOPS and CPU across the cluster and instantly know the cluster's health. On the same screen, you can also see how each VM is doing with its CPU, Disk, IOPS and network traffic.

You do not have to set up RAID or configure LUNs for your storage. Once the cluster is set up, create or import the VMs you need up to the limits of your cluster. Scale manages where the data is stored and which hosts will run the VM.

Scale Computing has built-in support tunnels that can be activated when needed. Scale engineers can then access your system to help with any troubleshooting. Once they are done, turn off the tunnel. You do not have to set up a remote-control session on your PC and let them control your screen. You can be working on other things while they work behind the scenes. What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

One thing to consider with VMware is you can purchase your hardware from many different sources. When moving to Scale Computing, you only have Scale Computing as a vendor choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Breeze to install and excellent communication throughout the process!"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

Every step of the process has been straight forward and easy to follow. Excellent documentation allowed me to install, configure and build my first VM without using the supported onboarding process.

Excellent interface show performance stats at a glance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

The migration process took a little more to understand, coming from a VMWare background. Maybe some changes to explain the process flow would be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Reliable and Problem Free System"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

The platform is quick to learn if you are new to virtualization. Creating, cloning and restoring VMs is fast and easy to do. Creating and scheduling snapshots is also easy. Mounting a snapshot to recover data quickly is hassle-free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

It would be nice to access more detailed performance data through the dashboard. That performance data is available; However, you need help from support to generate a report with that data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The central solution to manage VMs"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

I have been a big fan of this product as I cannot manage our VMs without it and I appreciate the flexibility it brings when it comes to VMs and the constant updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

It would be better if we can brand the product with our own logo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Life is so much simpler now on Scale Computing"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

The system just works. Snapshots are a breeze, and spinning up a clone is very easy and FAST! The licensing and configurations is simple and straight forward as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

That we didn't find it sooner. We were on the VMware boat for years till seeing Scale Computing. VMWare was just messy and individual hosts unless you paid for other modules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
