"Highly Scalable with Exceptional User Experience"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

I use the Scale Computing Platform as our primary virtual environment and appreciate its scalability with resources, space, and time. The platform is really easy to use and offers great flexibility to system administrators. My favorite part is the user experience because, despite being new to virtual environments, I found Scale easy to understand and use. I think the ability to effectively re-allocate resources quickly is crucial, as it allows us to solve performance problems on our production VMs. The setup was also very easy, thanks to the streamlined process by the Scale support team. I also like that we switched to Scale from Veeam due to better pricing and scalability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

Maybe development of some kind of full login page for all of your Scale clusters. I am aware of the feature within the console to navigate to other clusters, but I feel like it could be easier to use/understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Interface, Needs Real-Time Resource Management"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

I appreciate how Scale Computing Platform offers ease of use for migrating our existing VM workload and building out new VM infrastructure, which is crucial for modernizing our IT operations. The streamlined interface and functionality are great for the day-to-day management of virtualized infrastructure, saving time and resources and enabling our IT team to focus on other priorities. The initial setup was quite easy and the documentation is clear, plus their deployment support is great to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

Scale Computing Platform is definitely lacking in a few areas such as adding or modifying VM resources in real time without the need to power down the VM. Integration with major backup vendors is another concern, although this is less of an issue now with official support for Veeam. We’ve faced limitations when adding or removing NICs without rebooting the server, or changing the VLAN assignments to the vNICs. There are also bugs, like adding a second vNIC causing a blue screen on the server, which haven't been resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable, Scalable Solution with Quick Setup"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

I like the scalability of the Scale Computing Platform. I'm able to quickly and easily spin up new instances while also making virtualization changes without affecting our production environment. I can add resources on the fly to production servers and create new server stacks as needed with very little effort. The platform is also affordable, offering similar performance at a lower cost than the previous solution we used. The initial setup was very easy, thanks to their quick setup guide, which takes very little expertise to work through, and with snapshot recovery, setup was finished quickly. What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

I'm not a huge fan of the interface. It feels outdated. Error message pop up in the field of view, not able to suppress or move them to a different view. Also, we are not able to add or customize the widgets showing stats on the portal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Scale with transform your virtual world"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

Scale is an easy to use product. Spinning up new VMs is quick and simple. The migration from VMware was an extremely smooth process. Clones and snapshots make testing updates and new software easier while not worrying about crashing a production server. Customer support has been great when we run across things we need some answers to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and Reliable Alternative to VMWare"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

I enjoy the Scale Computing Platform’s ease of use, which makes setting up and breaking down servers very straightforward, despite having a history of challenges with platforms like VMWare. The intuitive layout of Scale Computing Platform allows me to navigate without constantly referencing documentation, saving me valuable time and avoiding frustration. Additionally, I appreciate the improved snapshot capabilities and the speed it brings to software patching processes, which is a significant upgrade over my previous experiences. Overall, the user interface is easier to read compared to VMWare and has proven to be more reliable in operation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

I would like more customizable views on the Scale Computing Platform. The current default view is satisfactory, but having the option to personalize it with elements like pie charts would enhance data visualization for me. For example, displaying pie charts to track the distribution of free, used, and system-dedicated RAM on a server would be beneficial. This level of customization would cater to personal preferences and facilitate easier data interpretation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined VM Management, Minor Transition Hiccups"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

I really appreciate how the Scale Computing Platform simplifies the process of setting up virtual machines (VMs). Unlike VMware, which involves numerous settings and layers that I find cumbersome, Scale Computing allows me to stand up a VM in just thirty seconds. This streamlined process makes it significantly easier to manage resources efficiently and be more nimble in making them available for specific applications or departments. The platform provides a much cleaner and simpler view for editing and modifying VMs, helping to avoid issues that can arise from misconfigured settings often encountered in more complex systems like VMware. Its simplicity and efficiency are truly valuable to me as they save me considerable time and allow my IT operations to be faster and more flexible. This agility is particularly beneficial in our 24/7 operational environment, where quick and adaptive responses to VM needs are essential. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

I find it frustrating that I cannot easily copy and paste between my machine and virtual machines (VMs) within the Scale Computing Platform. This limitation makes simple tasks, such as transferring data for installations, more cumbersome. Additionally, while setting things up initially was straightforward, transitioning VMs from VMware to Scale has been challenging. As our facility operates 24/7, taking VMs down for hours during the transition is impractical, and the tools we've used, such as Acronis and now OpenText, while functional, have made the process lengthy, especially for large VMs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"No Fuss, No Muss with a Proviso"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

Running cores services on Scale is ridiculously simple. I mean, dead easy. Spin up a new VM? Done in a flash. Downtime? Not likely, these things keep on going and going and going. Uptime? 7 billion hours.

If you've ever been to a concert and seen the guitar players with a million peddles and knobs ... thats cool but can easily get in the way. Scale gives you the dulcet tones you are looking for, but without needing to fiddle with 1000 knobs.

Support? Well, you may not ever need it because things run smoothly and so you'll just think up some minor grievance, just so you can have a quick little chat with the Scale team. Expecting a reply to your email tomorrow? Nope, you're getting one today!

Want to add a node? Yeah, that's easy if you know how to lift a server, play with cage nuts, and plug in a few cables. Done.

What else can I say? It's that simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

First, If you are that guy at the front of the stage at a Wilco concert ogling all the pedals and knobs used by the guitar palyers and you think a server should be the same, then Scale is not for you. You probably want a platform where you can fine tune every last aspect needlessly in an effort to feel important, offering aggrandizing reports of your accomplishments to upper mgmt.

Second, and more seriously, Scale was recently merged with Acumera, and backed by Oaktree Capital Management, so expect some weird and fishy stuff to start happening to price, support quality, and more. If there is one thing financial firms are good at, it's making cuts. They are not good at retaining and building quality support (outsource it instead to an indifferent entity paying people a fraction of what internal staff were being paid), and keeping subscription / pricing clear and fair. I anticipate this to go Broadcom, if you catch my drift. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Deployment, Seamless Scalability"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

I love the Scale Computing Platform for its super simple deployment process, which significantly reduces setup time and effort. This ease of use is complemented by its simplistic user interface, which allows me to accomplish tasks more quickly and efficiently. An additional benefit is the platform's scalability, which seamlessly adapts to our growing needs. I find the system particularly easy to learn and maintain, minimizing the learning curve for new users. I also appreciate the one-click access to the latest software releases, which eliminates the hassle of cumbersome steps or additional requirements, making updates both straightforward and time-saving. The initial setup experience with Scale Computing Platform, where nodes arrive 90% pre-configured, was exceptionally smooth, taking merely an hour to have our environment online and operational. This process was much more efficient compared to our previous setup with Dell VXRail, which required extensive coordination with deployment teams. Overall, Scale Computing Platform's user-friendly nature and efficient maintenance routines are features I truly enjoy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

I would like to see some improvement in the system log functionality for internal troubleshooting when it is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Scale Computing has been nothing but helpful and easy to use"
What do you like best about Scale Computing Platform?

From the time I start working in my position in Information Technology to now, a total of 5 years I have used the Scale Computing Platform. Scale's products are very easy to configure and install, especially with the help of their 24 hours support team. I appreciate every phone call and email I have received from Scale's support team. There have been times when I am dead in the water and Scale's Support is there to help me get back online in no time at all. The warranty provided with each product is worth every penny spent on the product. Each and every member of Scale's support team has helped me and never left me hanging.

When installing the system the ease of installing and command line is simple when you have someone on the phone with you as well as documentation provided to get everything done as quick as possible. My servers are online 24/7, around the clock as our agency is also 24/7.

We are able to use Scale Computing and integrate every aspect of our agency into Scale Platform. This has been upgrading servers even easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scale Computing Platform?

So far, I do not dislike anything about the Scale Computing Platform. Scale's products have kept my servers online 24/7 with only a few hiccups relating to software updates. Even then, Scale's support team was there to get everything progressing again. Keep up the good work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
