What do you like best about POINT?
- Creating events is easy and customizable. It allows me to be very specific for the events I am planning, whether that be with event descriptions and expectations, the different shifts or jobs I need volunteers for, or who is able to volunteer for a shift (groups/reservations).
- Point makes it very easy to keep track of (and export) volunteer data and hours. It also makes it very easy to communicate with your volunteers. Instead of copy and pasting hundred of emails I am also able to use Point to reach them. I can also customize these emails by group or event, which is very helpful when I need to update volunteers signed up for a specific event.
- I use Point everyday. The aesthetics and overall set up of the website and app make it very easy to use and navigate (as a volunteer and admin). It is easy to find the information you are looking for.
- Over 60% of my volunteer base is over 60 years old and transitioning all of those volunteers to Point was a smooth process. There are the general learning curves of any new scheduling app, but now those folks (with the occasional hiccup) are independently using Point. It was easy to implement with our volunteers and give them the independence -- this really allows me to be hands off in the scheduling of volunteers. Point is now integrated as a normal part of volunteering with us.
- At our venue we have a few roles that require specific training or certifications (RAMP and clearances) I am able to post those shifts as I would any others and reserve them for volunteers with the specific certifications. Again showing how customizable Point is to your organization's needs.
- If there is ever something that I cannot figure out on my own or with Point's thorough Support Page, I know that I can reach out to them on the Live Chat feature or email and receive a prompt and thoughtful response. The thing I like best is that I know I am talking to real people that know and understand Point. It is much more personal than using a large stores customer service and I really appreciate that. Not only do they help, but they listen. I have made a number of inquiries about experiences I've had with my volunteers and they make note to see how they can better improve the experience.
- I've also attended a few of their monthly webinars/office hours to learn more about different features I could be using or what updates have been added. They are frequently working on the next best thing for Point and scheduling your volunteers.
- My organization uses the basic/free version of Point and you are able to do so much with this version. Do not worry that you will have to pay for a Pro Plan to be able to use Point to its full potential. I have researched and learned a lot about the Pro Plan, and you are able to do a lot for your organization with it. Both levels are great resources for your volunteer needs. What do you dislike about POINT?
- Currently, there isn't a lot of customization for notifications on Point, that being said Point does a really great job at reminding volunteers about events they signed up for, when a spot is reserved for a group, when something is posted/edited, etc. These are great for my older volunteers that may need the reminders, but I wish they had to option to filter what notifications they receive. I have no doubt that Point is already working to improve this aspect of their platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
