"Open Dental Review After A Year Of Use"
What do you like best about Open Dental?

Open Dental serves as a comprehensive Customer Relations Management tool, allowing you to handle all the essential tasks required of a Dental Virtual Assistant. While there may be a learning curve initially and it took me days to learn all the features of Open Dental; it becomes a significant asset for scheduling and managing appointments. The process is streamlined, and navigating the doctor's calendar is simple and intuitive. Additionally, the "Account" section is impressively detailed, displaying a complete history of patient activity across offices within the network, including useful communication logs. The "Family" tab is particularly valuable, as it offers quick access to information for family groups, which helps ensure effective communication, especially in cases with kids where you'll be speaking with the parents or guardians. I also find the "Past Appointments" feature very useful, as it highlights when patients are overdue for cleanings and recommends actions based on their history. Furthermore, I appreciate the texting function, which enables immediate communication with patients and allows me to review previous interactions within their accounts. I also enjoy how easy it is to set up using the web version, and the way it remembers my login makes accessing the system straightforward. Open Dental's integration with TeamCare further enhances its capabilities by connecting information and making scheduling and updates more efficient. Overall, I have rated Open Dental a 9 out of 10 and would recommend it, especially for its user-friendly setup and appealing features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Open Dental?

In my experience, Open Dental tends to be quite laggy at first, which I suspect is related to managing a large number of clients and operating across several offices. This sluggish performance during the initial setup phase disrupts my workflow. I also find the Zoom feature frustrating, as it appears jagged and pixelated, and it doesn't fit my screen correctly. It would be much more convenient if it could automatically adjust to my screen resolution of 1920 by 1080p. On top of that, having to frequently clear the cache to troubleshoot and address lag issues is rather inconvenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
