**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

Google Cloud Speech-to-Text, being a cloud service, has some downsides that users should be aware of. One downside is the cost, which can be more expensive than other speech-to-text solutions for users who have large amounts of spoken content to transcribe. Another downside is the limited control over transcription quality, which can be affected by various factors such as audio quality, language and dialect of the spoken content, and the complexity of the subject matter. In addition, the service may not always transcribe accents correctly, so users should be aware of this and review and edit their transcriptions. **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa P. | Marketing Content Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

I can't believe how fast it is! I find myself on the road a lot - and not always with my computer - and instead of me "typing with thumbs" i can record my thoughts, ideas, and inspiration, and immediately it works into text. Then I can edit the text and tweak it. It integrates perfectly with google docs and my entire team has now begun using it!

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

If you're using this app (or any speech-to-text app) remember: it's not perfect. We have accents - we might think we don't but the application definitely does - so it doesn't always "hear" correctly. Don't assume that once you dictate something it will be perfect. Remember to edit and review.

**What problems is Google Cloud Speech-to-Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a lot of videos that we always transcribe and add subtitles. Instead of pausing and typing, or outsourcing titled videos, we are able to have google "listen" to our audio, write what it "hears" and then we read the transcript, correct it and then upload the RSS file.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahmet Fatih Y. | lecturer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

I remember spending a lot of money to hire people to listen and transcribe all the recordings I had to make for a research study. With Google Cloud STT it is just matter of seconds and you get free 60 minutes per month and 300 dollars credit. It is bliss. Morevoer you can also do the opposite when you want to transform your written data to speech which is what I do as I produce informative short videos for my students.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

I am not sure if I want too much but 60 minutes per month and 300 dollars free credit may fall short after seeing the marvels of Google Cloud STT. So I dislike being greedy and asking for more credits as a person in public education.

**What problems is Google Cloud Speech-to-Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transforming written texts to speech which is intelligible and fluent in a country where English is spoken as a Foreign Language. It is not always easy to find native speakers from the students` perspective.

  ### 26. Cloud based accurate Voice Recognition

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anand B. | Business Development Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

It runs on the cloud. It allows users to transcribe speech from multiple languages and audio formats and provides a range of customization options for specific industry needs easy for businesses to transcribe large volumes of audio quickly and effectively. The service also includes powerful transcription tools, such as automatic punctuation, speaker and noise reduction.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

I felt the cost is on the higher side for a high volume of usage and occasional inaccuracies in transcription whenever there is a noisy audio or strong accents.

**What problems is Google Cloud Speech-to-Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traditional speech recognition technology can be limited in accuracy. So google cloud speech is solving those with its efficiency and it helps for me in transcripting lot of audio calls and meeting notes easily.

  ### 27. Great API for transcribing user's voice commands to text

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarthak R. | NLP Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

The best part is support for multiple languages. The transcripts are very accurate, and having it done as a cloud service helps us separate the concern of having accurate STT frmo the rest of our app.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

One issue is the inability to store a language model on an edge/mobile device. We would have liked to integrate a small STT model into our android app so it could be used offline. This is because our app's users are concentrated largely in India, including remote areas with poor internet speeds.

**What problems is Google Cloud Speech-to-Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Cloud STT is a great way to convert users' voice commands and searches into text for further processing. We use it in our Android app's search interface.

**Reviewed by:** Nursultan A. | Google Cloud Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2022

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

One potential downside of using Google Cloud Speech-to-Text is that there are no publicly committed use discounts for businesses that anticipate a large volume of transcriptions. These discounts are only available through private negotiations.

**What problems is Google Cloud Speech-to-Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Cloud Speech-to-Text can be integrated with bots that can speak text, which can enhance the feeling of real-life interactions and make them more engaging compared to using pre-recorded audio. This can be especially useful for businesses that want to create more personalized and human-like interactions with customers

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

I dislike the fact that when using Google Cloud speech-to-text, you have to enter in some particular characteristics of the sound you are sending in; what this means is that we have to use third-party software to process the sound artifact first, before applying it to Google Speech-to-text

Google Cloud speech to text is allowing us to communicate with individuals with a speaking, reading or listening disability. It also allows us communicate with clients that do not speak English.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Usukhbayar T. | Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

That it's constantly evolving, the ability to convert audio to text is a very handy thing. And when everything is set up it's also very simpke to use as well.

When we record meetings it's very good thing to have transcripts as well. That is so that we fully understand the customer/partner and it's much easier to read a transcript than to have to go back and watch the recording.

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2023

The best part of this tool is its recognition power of what we are saying.
I have used one tool from Microsoft also, but the voice recognition of google cloud tool is fabulous.

1) Support from the google cloud team
2) Few languages are only available

I could transcript the text from video for online classes for notes from this tool.
Also, I generated subtitles from a movie, which was pretty cool, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  ### 33. A great tool to transform from text to speech, requires some technical skills

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What problems is Google Cloud Speech-to-Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company used to work on various transcription-related activities. We have a large pool of data that needs to transcribe. The service helps out with it by a ton, although the service i bit price, the service makes up for it.

  ### 34. Easy and fast Speech to text integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elanchezhiyan R. | Founder and CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

The Speech to Text Engine from Google has been really good in quality. It's performance is at par with Google Assistant and voice recognition is also smooth. The speed at which the audio is captured and converted to text is just amazing.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

Works only 8 out of 10 times. There is an error rate of 20% and that makes things a little tricky. There is scope for improvement. While english language works very well, other languages are not up to the mark.

**What problems is Google Cloud Speech-to-Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An app that we built has a specific feature that depends on Google Cloud Speech-to-Text. The feature takes in voice input from our students and matches it with a text and tells him/her if they are correct. We were able to build this functionality with the help of this tool and works well for us.

One of the most helpful and profound features of Google Cloud Speech-to-Text is the high level of accuracy it provides for transcriptions. The voice recognition is smooth even when there is environmental noise and distress in the speech.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

The cost is a bit high, and pricing is not based on the features. Other competitors have competitive pricing in the same genre of software. Some of the accents are mistakenly transcribed, and I hope this improves over time.

**What problems is Google Cloud Speech-to-Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The transcribed documents from the audio of video and audio conferences help in engaging specially-abled candidates and contribute. The transcribed scripts are documented and stored so that they remain with us to go through them for confirmations on the requirements discussed at the conferences and can help keep up to date on ongoing operations around our teams.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

If you've ever used a system for transcription such as Mechanical Turk it's time to accept that the need for humans in transcription is long over (which is good to be honest, because it always felt bad paying a human pennies for such tedious work. and sometimes they very obviously just used bad computer transcription anyway.) Google Cloud Speech-to-Text is exactly what you need with best-in-class accuracy.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Speech-to-Text?**

Well, it ain't free.

**What problems is Google Cloud Speech-to-Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem it solves is high-quality transcriptions at speed and on a budget, at which it can't be beaten. Of course, if you have hundreds of things to transcribe, it's going to add up.
