  ### 1. Bulk Insurance Payments and a Well-Laid-Out Account Ledger

**What do you like best about Dentrix Ascend?**

I like the bulk insurance payment option, and the way the account ledger is laid out.

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

1. Being able to print appointment cards from the appointment would be a nice feature as well. 
2. Being able to edit insurance payments and insurance adjustments without deleting the payment and re-entering is a must.
3. We need to be able to print a routing slip from the appointment without having to take the extra steps of the routing panel. 
4. The Tab function is barely usable, which means my right hand ends up doing almost all the work throughout the day. 
5. There are too many steps required to accomplish even basic tasks. 
6. When entering insurance payments the order of the payment type changes depending on which screen you come from. 
7. The general payment types/tags and credit/adjustment type tags change order as well. They need to be static and unchanged, the same order every time. 
8. The PreMed appointment alert should automatically appear if the patient has a premed alert or if it has been manually checked in previous appointments.

The feature request option is great. HS1 really listens to its customers and has already implemented many of the suggestions people have shared.

It is easy to navigate. I love that Ascend takes our ideas to make it better into account. The treatment plans are correct, with our last system it seems like they were never correct.

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

I think reports could be a little more user friendly. The line accounting is really hard to get used to. I wish there was another way we could view the ledger.

I like the ease of charting with Dentrix Ascend, which makes it easy to train other people on it, like dental assistants. It's efficient for treatment planning, charting, and billing. The initial setup was pretty easy too.

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

The report section is difficult to pull the data and reports that I need sometimes.

Dentrix Ascend is great because it's one software that does it all, making it easy for me to handle treatment planning, charting, and billing.

**What do you like best about Dentrix Ascend?**

I love how easy Dentrix Ascend is to navigate. It allows me to efficiently move from the patient side to the prescription side and also manages the clinic side seamlessly. This comprehensive ease of use truly makes it my favorite PMS system, facilitating various aspects of our dental office management effortlessly.

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

I really wish we could integrate medical billing or medical claims with Dentrix Ascend. This integration would make our operations more seamless and efficient. I know there are other platforms that offer this feature, allowing us to send claims directly to medical insurance, and I wish Dentrix Ascend could do the same as it would make our job much easier. Additionally, the initial setup of Dentrix Ascend was challenging. Back then, we had to start from scratch, entering all of our patient information because nothing flowed over. This process was very difficult and time-consuming.

**What problems is Dentrix Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dentrix Ascend helps us maintain financial stability by managing reconciliations and reporting, ensuring steady operations. Its easy navigation across patient, prescription, and clinic sides enhances efficiency. The cloud-based system centralizes patient data across multiple offices, facilitating seamless access.

Requires training to learn how to use it most effectively.

Ascend has helped us scale effortlessly, effectively, efficiently Ascend is very user friendly and intuitive gone are the customizable complex menus in with the trendy select few standard menu to choose from with a Dashboard Everyone new or existing Ascend users love it 😍

Third party tool integration can take a long time for example As GoTo or Weave, etc

Ascend helps me speed up the process of onboarding a new practice and scale up faster than I had ever imagined

I love that it's cloud based and can be accessed anywhere there is a network connection.

It's difficult to work when the internet is being spotty or is not operating correctly.

It has made our AR MUCH cleaner due to being able to view all of the locations easily and quickly.

**What do you like best about Dentrix Ascend?**

I love how easy it is to read a ledger and it makes it more clear for patients to understand their billing. The automated reminder texts are a huge plus - saving me hours of time I used to waste calling and confirming. The Support team is great and have helped our office a lot in the two years since we adopted the software and are usually available in the evening after we close as they are in CST and we're EST.

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

The only thing that isn't as great as the last software our office used is that on the walkout slip/receipt for the patient, it only shows their very next appointment and none of the family's appointments besides that individual.

**What problems is Dentrix Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They make it much easier to send billing statements and with patient communication in general with the text options and automated reminders/confirmations.

It is cloud base. we can work from anywhere and it has good features.

data is not traferaable easily. Storage is issue. to add new user it's long process.

patient EMR, managing all three locations smoothly. all patient's data accesible from anywhere. tracking prodcutions for all provider, many more.....

How easily accessable everything is and how fast this software moves, never lags. It makes scheudling, payment, and patient info super quick and easy to manage and maintain.

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

I dislike how quickly it times out and logs me out. Sometimes i am using ZocDoc or checking my emails or on the phone and by the time I come back I have been logged out.

**Recommendations to others considering Dentrix Ascend:**

I would recommend to all medical offices to use this platform.

I am solving issues verifying insurance, submitting payments from insurance and patients and being able to add new patients as family members to make submitting claims so much more simple

The very general usage and navigation is pretty simple, and it's an "attractive" software.

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

There's still quite a few bugs Ascend is trying to work with with numbers reporting (collections/production). The insurance entry could absolutely be done better.

**What problems is Dentrix Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company is currently working on production reports with Ascend to find resolutions to our inaccurate info issue. I like being able to specify what info I want on each report. Lots of options for narrowing down the info you're looking for.

**What do you like best about Dentrix Ascend?**

Dentrix ascend is complex in that it contains a large variety of functions, yet it is simple to learn and use. Dentrix Ascend is always adding more features, allows the users to request features, and it always evolving to become better. They have excellent customer support with very knowledgeable employees. It listens to its users 100%.

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

The only problem is that it is cloud based so if our network goes down/internet is out, we are unable to access any information. Also, it does not have a time clock integrated with it, but that is almost worth working around. 

**Recommendations to others considering Dentrix Ascend:**

Dentrix Ascend is always adding more features, allows the users to request features, and it always evolving to become better. They have excellent customer support with very knowledgeable employees.

Our reports and recall have improved greatly as well as our insurance payments and patient portion payments

The fact that I can access all locations from anywhere. The searchability within Ascend.

Some of reporting, and that you can't view the schedule a week at a glance. Also not being able to close days in the schedule.

Being able to report on all of our locations at once makes our owner's life easier. Information at our fingertips is definitely a benefit.

Graphics and multiple ways to navigate Ascend. No right or wrong way to access needed information.

Can only be logged in one work station/ computer at a time. But good for security reasons.

ICD-10 codes are linked in conditions to treat certain procedures that are treatment planned. This helps with dental claims.

**What do you like best about Dentrix Ascend?**

Accessibility from anywhere, without a need for a backup.

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

They won't tell you this, but you'll want a backup internet connection in your office.  You are relying on a single point of failure for downtime otherwise.  They also tell you that you won't need a server, but you actually do if you want to have a compliant, secure network.

**Recommendations to others considering Dentrix Ascend:**

Make sure that you have the infrastructure to support it. You'll need a backup internet connection, and a Windows Server for internal network compliance.  Make sure your imaging will bridge correctly.  Make sure you don't just want the Standalone version, even if you have satellite offices, etc.

**What problems is Dentrix Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some bridging between imaging software is not supported, even if it is supported in the Dentrix Standalone.

**What do you like best about Dentrix Ascend?**

Dentrix Ascend is great concept for mobile dentistry. I currently am a user and am able to access the patient's records, print and mail billing, upload documents such as medical history and/or various documents like insurance cards, etc all remotely (home, in the office, or at the clinical site). As long as there is internet (which most of the facilities offer it), I am able to dental chart, write notes, book appointments, add patient information in, etc right at the facility, whether it be at a nursing home, school, or in home (some patients are homebound). It is quite easy to book a patient's recall appointment, assign clinicians to the appointment, treatment plan, and update billing. Overall, Dentrix Ascend was designed all cloud based and designed well.

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

The product support/customer service is quite limited and not as helpful as I would like. For a small business, it is difficult to learn all aspects of the office (clinical , admin, finances, etc). I feel as though a lot of the input in dentrix ascend is self-learning. Although the customer service has helped, it is not as great.

**What problems is Dentrix Ascend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dentrix Ascend has allowed us to be paperless and be able to communicate via cloud. I would like to see more online virtual learning tools. For example, I would like to see tutorials or videos on entering Medicare insurance or see if it possibly to look up a patient's benefit (how many cleanings a year? can they have fluoride?).

This program is easier than most dental software out there. The patient reminders and ability to use between multiple practice locations is amazing. 

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

Pricing monthly is a little steep for a small group of practices. It seems like there are still a lot of bugs that need to be worked out, such as being able to pull reports and track the confirmation calls/texts.

Collections. We are able to get more revenue on collections because there is no third party handling the claims.

They recently did an update to whete you can only pull up patient images on one screen at a time.

**What do you like best about Dentrix Ascend?**

I like how it is easy to look up anything efficiently when used. For example, from pulling up an X-ray or to looking for cases, it can be done quickly in a matter of seconds. It is also very easy to teach to anyone new to the program. 

**What do you dislike about Dentrix Ascend?**

Although I do not have many words on what I do not like about this program, I will say that if the program looks more modern, it will be nicer. It is not a huge problem though for me, personally.

Recording recession, perio chart cursor does NOT move automatically. :( Help!
