I have never been more disappointed in a SAAS. **What do you dislike about Moz Local?** After being a MOZ customer for 7 years, I've experienced a significant decline in their local directory submission service. Key issues include: Our listings decreased from 115+ to only 32 within the past year, despite maintaining our same level of engagement. Customer support was largely inaccessible when I tried to address these concerns. Upon investigation, I discovered a competitor's link had been added to one of my citations containing my company's content, raising data management concerns. When I terminated the service, MOZ "unhooked" my business from placements I had independently acquired, including Apple Maps! Most troubling were emails threatening that my citations would be sold to others upon my plan's expiration - a questionable practice involving brand-owned content. I DO NOT recommend MOZ for directory submissions based on these experiences. I use it specifically to reveal "no-follow" connections on websites. This is especially beneficial when considering using backlinks by posting on websites supporting content syndication. Although it offers keyword tracking, it goes further in a few aspects. Search Visibility is a measure that the system offers. This score may be applied to all the keywords being tracked or only to those within a user-defined category. As a result, this aids in our understanding of the website's performance and specific product categories. Additionally, we can see how the three rivals stack up. **What do you dislike about Moz Local?** Their customer service is subpar. Occasionally, data from a tool used to assess competition is not correct. There are several differences if you compare the data from MOZ with that from Google Search Console and Ahrefs. I used them to analyze ten projects for links and discovered that they could not crawl backlinks that I made a few months ago, despite being visible in search console data. They must improve their dot bot. They are unable to recognize the internal connections on my websites either. I found 8 out of 100 projects had no internal links when I examined them. The Moz Local tool is missing essential functions like Citation Builder and Reputation Manager. There is no free trial available for Moz Local either. **What problems is Moz Local solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Moz to enhance the on-page and off-page SEO for our website. Moz provides a variety of tools to ease the work of SEO specialists. It makes it simple to examine our own and rival websites by allowing us to do so simply by putting in the URL. I find their products and Whiteboard Fridays with Ran to be very useful when conducting keyword research and doing local citation building. In the past year they recently made changes to their dashboard and how you upload your business information. The portal used to be very confusing and had minimal field to fill out and submit. What I like now about moz local is being able to track my works clients and updated local SEO score and find NAP inconsistencies across well known aggregators and other trusted listing sites. Weekly reports are very beneficial. Customer service is top notch and they respond almost immediately to any inquiry. Not to mention the follow up from the team is impeccable. The dashboard displays results in a very visual way which eliminates the need to deep complex reading and understanding. During setup it will ask you a series of questions and by doing this it makes it super easy to get started. Once you enter in the information the dashboard does the work for you. After the initial setup it is more about just keeping an eye on the status update of each network and then troubleshooting as you go. **What do you dislike about Moz Local?** Some sources within the network never get updated. While this isn't an issue per say with the software, I would recommend Moz to dig deeper into their relationships to work on improving this. Getting started with this takes some time. Some of the networks update immediately and others can take weeks if not longer. In rare cases I have some take months before they update. Some networks never update. Updating local directories is critical. It would nice to see the networks to be expanded as another competitor is larger than what Moz's product is. **What problems is Moz Local solving and how is that benefiting you?** Moz Local pushes our updates to their directory network automatically. This saves me a ton of time as I don't have to manually update these sites on an individual basis. It allows for mass updating with automation. Once the update has completed for each network there isn't any further work to do. Even if your business changes names or address, it is a very simple update to make this change. It definitely helps to source certain problems, unearthing business listings issues and revealing inconsistencies with a great deal of specificity. It's also exceptionally easy to deploy. **What do you dislike about Moz Local?** It's unclear how to repair certain "issues" and Moz Local does not offer much help. While Moz Pro is "the" product for SEO, Moz Local is just one of the options. It requires a lot of work to actually figure out how to solve the issues that Moz Local unearths. Definitely makes it easier than having to manually check - especially for the non-Google/Yelp/etc. smaller sites I wouldn't think to visit. The interface is easy to understand for users and it's very simple to use. **What do you dislike about Moz Local?** In my time using Moz I noticed a lot of random issues with it. It would flag certain things, but then when I'd go to update them it wouldn't exist. It's also hard to justify spending on it repeatedly when...honestly, the listings don't change much. Realistically, for most businesses you really only need to use it once initially to get everything set up, and then maybe every 6 months or so as things break. It's not necessarily worth the ongoing cost unless you're a large company with multiple locations. I work at an agency and most of our clients were small, with only one store/location. For them, the view in Moz was pretty much the same month over month. Really the only tool we would use regularly would be the customer feedback tab...but you can also log directly into Google/Yelp/et. all for free so for some clients it was hard to justify the ongoing cost. **What problems is Moz Local solving and how is that benefiting you?** Solved the problem of having to log into each website individually. There are many aspects that are confusing and their help guide provides very little answers. I would also like some sort of reporting. **Recommendations to others considering Moz Local:** It's fairly cheap and quick to get your correct information out. It doesn't do much more than that. **What problems is Moz Local solving and how is that benefiting you?** The benefits are having the correct and up-t-date store information posted across the internet. We've also found many duplicate or fake pages that we did not know about and can work towards getting them removed. ### 50. It is a much more inexpensive option than Yext (which seems to have some sort of unholy alliance going on with some directories like SuperPages) and either automatically updates listings for your or tells you where you need to establish/update an account. MOZ Local also offers an option to push changes directly to Foursquare and Google My Business, which is useful. **What do you dislike about Moz Local?** Some of the updates take an extremely long period of time to be made via MOZ Local. Sometimes, I'd get impatient and do them myself. Some never seem to get updated, but overall, it does a pretty good job. Also, it doesn't always do the best job in identifying duplicate accounts. Their customer service is also not great. If you're confused in using it, you may get lost and stay lost. **Recommendations to others considering Moz Local:** There are really only two options - this and Yext. For small biz. MOZ is much more affordable, while Yext seems to have more coverage. **What problems is Moz Local solving and how is that benefiting you?** There are a lot of directories that search engines use to offer the right location and contact information for brick and mortar businesses. To align them all individually is time consuming and some seem impossible without paying Yext. this tool helps you see the important directories, understand what is missing or inaccurate, and either updates it for your or points you in the right direction.
