Easy to train clinical support personnel on scheduling and other PM functions. Efficient patient registration, payment collection, document management. **What do you dislike about ModMed?** Very disappointing customer service. Often non-existent. If you are not tech savvy, you will only be frustrated. But, ultimately, it will work as you adapt. **What problems is ModMed solving and how is that benefiting you?** Documentation, practice management, revenue cycle management. Versatile platform that is not too complicated. ### 2. The level of support was truly there from our first conversation and has been now that we are 4 months into being a user. Our transition was incredibly smooth and efficient. **What do you dislike about ModMed?** I have not found an issue that could not be resolved or one particular thing that makes me dislike the software or company. The bridge between the practice software and surgery center software is still in some development, but the implementation team worked strategically with us to make the connection work for our needs **What problems is ModMed solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our previous software provider lost their connection intermittently for nearly a month and could not be trusted to be available to us for use at least a couple times a month. There always seemed to be an "issue". In 4 months, we have never lost connection with Modernizing Medicine; their support team keeps us updated with transparent communication about updates. The BOOST revenue cycle management team works to release claims faster, and because of that, we have seen faster reimbursement. ### 3. The menus are clear and very user-friendly. **What do you dislike about ModMed?** There are slight differences between the desktop and iPad versions which can get a little confusing if you go back and forth between versions. **What problems is ModMed solving and how is that benefiting you?** ModMed is always updating its software to improve performance taking cues from the customer's perspective and submitted suggestions. ### 4. When our provider’s biopsy a lesion, they will indicate their treatment preference based on the differential diagnosis. The provider’s biopsy notes are available on the path for them to review upon sign off; if the provider wants to change their initial treatment preference, they can right then. If not, the medical assistant is then ready to schedule the procedure or refer the patient accordingly. The picture of the lesion comes through with the pathology reading as well. The pictures make it so easy when referring the patient out or even in-house with Mohs or our general dermatologist excision. **What do you dislike about ModMed?** Searching for appointments generally time out and disconnect us when searching for any appointment other than a follow-up [New Patient, Surgery, Mohs, Cosmetic, Laser]. This is very time consuming and frustrating when making appointments. **Recommendations to others considering ModMed:** We use the Modernizing Medicine EMA for Dermatology and it is user friendly and a definite asset to us. EMA is thorough in the medical notes, easy for the medical assistants and providers to use and capture patient data thoroughly. **What problems is ModMed solving and how is that benefiting you?** We really like that Mod Med Pay, Relatient, and Trizetto are all interfaced with Mod Med. Patients making payments online and automatically interfacing, claims automatically going out every 3 hours, statements automatically going out weekly, electronic remittance advices automatically coming in, money comes in faster than before. Claim scrubbing is much better. Eligibility is so helpful and timesaving. ### 5. We use EMA PM for registering, scheduling patients and the integration within the EMR is seamless and works great. A very good built system **What do you dislike about ModMed?** If I had to pick a downfall, I would say the financial piece is a little clunky to work with, still relatively new in EMA and just requires a lot of clicks. Workable but could use some design to save time. **Recommendations to others considering ModMed:** It is an excellent all-in-one bundled solution **What problems is ModMed solving and how is that benefiting you?** We don't have a lot of problems with EMA, if we have an issue we open a support ticket. The benefits I think we found the most beneficial was helping with ICD-10 coding when we first went on. To do that on paper was going to be a nightmare and having EMA assist along the way with what you put into your visit to generate the proper codes was a huge lifesaver for us. ### 6. I like the cloud based Modernizing Medicine system because it is 1) diagnosis driven, 2) dermatology friendly (to the way we work), 3) easy to store images, and 4) customizable. Also, the company is very much engaged in continuous improvements of their products. They take their customers' suggestions and concerns seriously and implement the latest changes behind the scenes. **What do you dislike about ModMed?** Currently, it seems a bit hard for my new employees to "catch on" and there is quite a difference in work flow between the iPad (which the nurses use) and the desktop version (which I use), so I have a difficult time teaching the nurses. The company seems to assume that all users are very computer literate and have tons of time to go online and look up videos of how to do things. What they don't understand is that people with minimal computer skills (basically most people over 50) don't have the ability to look up what they need to know. We had one employee who really could work with the ModMed and customize it well, but that is not intuitive. Defaults are awfully easy for the nurses to put in. So easy, that they often just put them in instead of the actual exam. So, in a nutshell, they could do a much better job with their training. **Recommendations to others considering ModMed:** Modernizing Medicine is, in my opinion, the best EMR software for Dermatology. I believe it is the industry standard. **What problems is ModMed solving and how is that benefiting you?** Documentation of visits and coding the visits is quite easy with Modernizing Medicine. ### 7. Everything is in one place, and you can toggle between ov notes, biopsies, labs, phone messages, etc. **What do you dislike about ModMed?** The thing I dislike the most is if the patient calls with a billing question, the billing company isn't able to answer the patient questions. **What problems is ModMed solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use all parts of MM so it solves the problem of having an EMR system and a separate billing system. We have realized the amount of time and money we wasted on other ERM and Practice Management systems. ### 8. Amazing specialty specific EMR!! There are glitches with some updates but, once reported, they are quickly fixed. **What problems is ModMed solving and how is that benefiting you?** Modernizing Medicine helps eliminate billing errors for sure. ### 9. Training was entirely virtual and was extremely effective,. The EMR system is intuitive and the revenue cycle component has been a game-changer for my practice. I love the analytics and I know where to focus my efforts, **What do you dislike about ModMed?** Nothing specific to Modmed; we transitioned from an old revenue cycle system without the ability to run parallel; coming up with solutions to post legacy transactions has been a challenge at times. **Recommendations to others considering ModMed:** Excellent platform, highly recommend **What problems is ModMed solving and how is that benefiting you?** Confidence in the continuity of care through EMA and specifically our ability to track results and referrals. Visibility into deficiencies in documentation and revenue cycle follow-up. I now have access through Modmed analytic to negotiate contracts based on data and not assumptions. ### 10.
