"IT's SQL.."
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

the management studio, it makes life so much easier for moderate intermediate users like me.

I like that it allows you to debug a table for any errors. You can set it up to use TSQL queries as well, either from the GUI or from the command line query. I have also used the backup database/detach/attach functionality and it allows you to go through these procedures with proper instructions. I just had a small background, but the rest of it is clearly indicated in the instructions provided while you do the procedure. Big credit for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

There is still some work around that needs to be done, I can mainly say my inexperience with SQL would account for it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SQL Server with Performance optimizations"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Performance optimizations of TSQL for complex queries. SSRS for reporting services and automated report generation to email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Sometimes the user security combined with the role based security on tables can take a bit of thought. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft SQL review"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

its an easy to use platform. Its fast and reliable. Making backups is easy and configuring new servers, tables, and databases pretty easy. Managing the systems are also easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The pricing could be better. Nowdays, with all the open source options, better pricing could be something that microsoft could improve upon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Meh"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

It's very well balanced and not too use unfriendly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Nothing bad just middle of the road. I would like more features that help define certain queries so I can make a better decision which will be more concise in getting the job done and not conflicting with other queries Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A robust transactional database, tried and true"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

If you are working from scratch, it's relatively easy to set up a new database server and connectivity between clients. Everything is pretty much straightforward, given that you have some database knowledge. The DBMS allows you to easily create several things entirely in design (tables, views, etc) - which is a big plus when you don't know the entire syntax. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Some of the setups of older versions (2008 - 2012) are rather clunky and not very well made - I have had several instances of my installer being corrupt and having to redownload. The database administrator is, at some times, slow to load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft SQL"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Microsoft is the industry standard when it comes to relational database management systems. This product is mature, stable and well known by most experienced DBA’s. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Cost and understanding licensing are the thing I dislike about it. The enterprise version is very expensive. Microsoft licensing had become very difficult to understand, especially with using VM’s. There are 2 models: Server + CAL’s and Per Core. Then if you want to be able to move your VM from 1 physical host to another you need to purchase Software Assurance on top of that. Gets very confusing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
