"Does its job well"

What I like most about Microsoft SQL is the ability to link servers across and standardized architecture. We use it as a relational database for over 30 different systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

What I don't like about Microsoft SQL is the complicated user permissions within the software. We have multiple users that need different profiles and find it difficult to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sql Server- Robust and secure database platform"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

This application works well on cross platforms. Integration and connectivity with other tool is easy.

We are easily able to manage the different database activities like create new db, table, stored procedue, cursor, trigger, function, data archiving etc. We can supply privilege to user(s) as per the need.

Sql server stored procedure are useful to avoid sql injection etc. because SP efficient code is good enough to validate the things nicely.

Sql server execution plan generates the query cost, reveals estimation of cpu, I/O cost etc. all these things helpful to analyse the performance of query. Application is good enough responsive. It's inbuilt automatic tuning functionality fixes the potential performance problem.

Database tuning is seamless as tuning advisor generates the details of missing indexes, statistics etc.

Sql server profiler is pretty much helpful to capture the details of sql queries.

It's Trace functionality allows us to extract the query execution information like query text, read and scan counts, db name where query actually executed, result count etc.

Database backup process is simple and quick. During backup it allows to set a password for the dbdump.

We are able to create and automate the jobs with different parameter like job run frequency and steps etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Installation process takes a bit more time except that no issue observed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The easiest SQL database server to work with"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

My favorite parts of Microsoft SQL Server are 1) the way Microsoft has implemented T-SQL to make it very easy to use and get information out of, and 2) the SQL Server Management Studio tool, my favorite SQL Database Management tool and code editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I use a 3rd party add-on from RedGate called "SQL Prompt" to improve upon Microsoft's already great Intellisense. RedGate just takes things a little further than Microsoft does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You have to be very certain in writing queries in SQL or else it will be a disaster in the performance. Because it u have huge data and your joins or indexes are not accurate then your performance will degrade heavily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Data Finder"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

There are many benefits of Sqlserver but the mail benefits that I love about sqlserver is its improved reliability, better performance. It has a increased scalibility over other databases and also reduced network traffic which makes this database to be one of the best database. It can be used mainly in various organisations which requires database to run their medium or large business. One best feature of microsoft sql server is its Express version or trail version which could be easily available without any cost so that users can try and use its some of the features prior to offering it to Microsoft. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The worst part of SQL server is its deployment Cost means a very large amount of cost will be payable to Microsoft in case we have to use full features of SQLSERVER. Also another drawback is its limited compatibility means SQL server is designed to work on windows platform only and not on any other platform. All other part of Sql server is good.
