"A Database Solution for Any Sized Business"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

MS SQL has matured into the enterprise database system it is today. Whether you need it for the backend DB for a simple solution to a full featured data warehouse, it has it all. "Microsoft SQL User Experience"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

One of the easiest databases I have used both in terms of development and querying. It is scalable and has a lot very good troubleshooting and support resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I am very satisfied in general with this product but the query debugging could be enhanced. Performance optimization is not straight forward. It would be nice to have a wizard to guide you in this area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Same Foundation through Time"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I like how it plays with Microsoft's family. You have your security from a domain standpoint. ASP plays nicely with SQL. All the standard query language can be used in SQL, so there's no learning curve if you already know about them. I do enjoy the local backup of the database, it allows me to control my backup and recovery instead of relying on the backup admin. Another key point is a stable SQL which makes it crucial; there's not a lot of crashes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I still cannot figure out why Microsoft has not put together a GUI for relational database. You have to type how the tables are related to one another. Another thing that I do not like is the Windows Update, every time SQL reboots, I have to make sure the services are back on. Sometime the services doesn't start which takes time to investigate why the service doesn't start. So always make sure to check the service and start SQL to see if you run into errors after a restart. Also, why does SQL eat up so much RAM? It's RAM thirsty.
