8am LawPay Reviews & Product Details

I find 8am LawPay convenient because it makes it easier to accept payments without having to wait for mail payment. Everything's all in one package, with payments and invoicing together, and it gives clients the option of financing with the Affirm button, so I can get paid right away. My clients seem to like it, and I've never had any complaints about the system, which is important for keeping them happy. It's a good basic 'meat and potatoes' type program that gets you paid sooner. It is a big help with trust account management. I would definitely recommend it as it's easy to use, and I've even told some of my colleagues about it, with some already signing up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I do think that some of the things are hard to find. The AI chat help could be improved A LOT. For example, I was preparing a final bill and was trying to figure out how to deduct what was left in the trust account from the final bill, and I just couldn't remember how. This seems made for an AI answer, but it couldn't help me, and it was a weekend, so I had to wait until Monday morning to speak to a live person and even she had to ask someone. Easy to use and take payments. Fast notifications of payment receipts and/or failed payments. Easy to navigate the website. My firm has been using LawPay for quite some time, since I have recommended it and everyone enjoys it. LawPay makes receiving payments so much faster and easier for our clients. I honestly preferred LawPay before the merger/buyout with 8am. It was much more customer oriented and I liked the website better. I do not like going through a long menu to get in touch with a support person and then be on hold for endless amounts of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how simple it is to use. I also love that it allows for the separation of your Operating and Trust accounts, so there is no confusion or commingling of funds. They have recently added several new features to make it even more easy for both the lawyer/law firm and the clients to use the platform. I am so glad I signed up several years ago. There isn't (or at least I haven't found) a spell-check feature. When I'm creating time entries and then when generating invoices for billing, I don't see where you can spell check your entries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Nothing that was done by LawPay was easy including the changing of banks was a nightmare. If you are looking forward to losing money, please by all means use LawPay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When you use Law Pay, please know you are giving them permissions to unilaterally enter your bank account and remove "your" monies. This can occur almost 90 days after you've allegedly been paid. Can you as a sole practitioner hold monies for 90 days while you determine whether the "client" is going to change their mind? Please know you never see the documents or alleged complaints as I have yet to see ANYTHING in writing related to the "alleged" chargeback. I believe LawPay is being used to steal monies from attorneys and you are welcome to contact me and I'll GLADLY explain it in more detail so you are protected from horrific business losses like I experienced with LawPay. Law Pay is a fantastic tool for taking credit card payments at my law firm. The customer support is awesome, it is simple to use, integrates with our software and they are always updating and making improvements to the software. The reports are easy to run and all encompassing for what I need to know as an administrator. Very satisfied since switching from another credit card processing company in 2022.
