## 8am LawPay Reviews
  ### 1. Law Pay is THE payment option for lawyers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I love how simple it is to use. I also love that it allows for the separation of your Operating and Trust accounts, so there is no confusion or commingling of funds. They have recently added several new features to make it even more easy for both the lawyer/law firm and the clients to use the platform. I am so glad I signed up several years ago.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

There isn't (or at least I haven't found) a spell-check feature. When I'm creating time entries and then when generating invoices for billing, I don't see where you can spell check your entries.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Law Pay's payment scheduler, I am having fewer issues with collections than I used to have. Clients can schedule payments on their terms.

  ### 2. Professional and Convenient Payment Processing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I think 8am LawPay presents a professional portal for clients to pay my fee, which is great. I use the quick bill function, which is really convenient when I'm talking to a potential new client. If they agree, I can send them a bill that they can pay on their phone or online, and I get retained right away so I can get to work. I also appreciate the calendar schedule for follow-up payments.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I have difficulty tracking when people pay a quick bill versus a regular bill and making sure I look in the right spot to see when payments have come in. So one centralized location showing all transactions received would be helpful.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use 8am LawPay for getting paid for my legal services through credit card processing. It provides a professional portal for clients to pay, allowing me to send quick bills and receive payments immediately so I can start work right away.

  ### 3. Easy-to-Use, Streamlined for Case Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Holly S. | ATTORNEY, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I like the ease of use of 8am LawPay for both myself and my clients. The platform's user-friendliness made it a key reason for switching from Clio, especially when it comes to ease of use and template creation in managing cases.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

The templates and case stages automations need improvement. I want more categories for message templates and a feature to click on case stages and give client updates. It would also be great to preload standard forms into client cases by adding a single folder of documents.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use 8am LawPay for organizing and enhancing client communication. It's easy to use for both myself and my clients.

  ### 4. Easiest Payment Processing with Some Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph H. | Owner, Consumer Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I find 8am LawPay to be a pretty easy-to-use website, which I appreciate. I'm able to make payment schedules and send out links to clients, which is quite useful. It gives me a variety of ways to get payments done, making the process more efficient. Also, the initial setup was pretty easy, they made it easy to handle, which I liked.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

You could use a little bit of improvement with some of the more complex payment plans giving you additional editing capabilities. It doesn't let you personalize it a 100%. And sometimes on the payment plans, if a card gets declined, it'll continue going on counting that week in that amount, to the final balance even though the money didn't actually get paid. Sometimes you have to go back if a client's card gets declined and charge them again, and make sure you have your own accounting follow-up on the unpaid balance.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use 8am LawPay for credit card processing, allowing clients to pay effectively. It's easy to use, provides a variety of payment options, and lets me schedule payments and send links to clients.

  ### 5. Great Cosmolex Integration and Built-In Compliance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melanie L. | CFO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I like the integration with various platforms, in our case, Cosmolex. I also like they way the platform keeps you in compliance. For the most part, the platform is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I honestly preferred LawPay before the merger/buyout with 8am. It was much more customer oriented and I liked the website better. I do not like going through a long menu to get in touch with a support person and then be on hold for endless amounts of time.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love the scheduled transactions. This has helped us with clients that need to be on a payment plan and pay every month or couple of weeks. I also love that our clients can click a payment link and the payment immediately shows up in our accounting system.

  ### 6. Faster payments and different payment options

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

The most helpful thing about LawPay is giving your clients the option to pay by credit card online. This increases the speed with which you are paid.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I do not like the fees they charge including fees for e-checks.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LawPay helps me receive payments more quickly and gives clients payment options.

  ### 7. Efficient Client Payment Handling, Needs Better Case Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frances P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I use 8am LawPay for handling payments on accounts. It really solves the problem of ease of client payments, allowing them to make payments without us having to enter their information. It's convenient because the client does it themselves, so we don't have to.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

We enter the payment but it does not show up in my case.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

8am LawPay makes client payments easier and allows clients to make payments without us entering their information.

  ### 8. Convenient, Instant Verification for Declined Cards

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

Convenience and instant verification of whether a card is declined. Also appreciate the CLEs.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

The processing fees, especially for AmEx.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

First and foremost, LawPay allows me to collect fees without having to meet clients in person or count on them to mail me a check.

  ### 9. Effortless Client Payments with Convenient Link Creation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

Ability to create links for clients to pay and the ability to enter client payment myelf.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I wish it was better integrated with Docketwise

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having to use a 3rd party product.

  ### 10. Excellent, easy-to-use service with good fees, fast payouts, and a simple platform for any lawyer.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander S. | Barrister and Solicitor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2024

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

LawPay is an excellent system. It offers a simple, user-friendly interface with easy invoice uploading, transaction reminders, and other features. Additionally, it provides fast payouts with relatively low fees, and the integrations are easy to set up. The onboarding process is straightforward, and I have not encountered a single issue since I started using LawPay. Integration is also simple.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I would like to see more features for building invoices within the web platform instead of relying on an external system. Additionally, I want to access more information about the client's credit card details and location, similar to what other competitors provide. It would also be helpful to view the email and transaction process more easily.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accepting credit cards is not necessarily difficult for a business. However, as a lawyer, it's beneficial to have a service that understands the legal profession, including the ability to send funds to trust accounts and other features relevant to lawyers. The lower fees are also a significant advantage. This service has simplified the payment process for my clients and allows me to track when funds arrive and ensure they go to the correct place.

  ### 11. LawPay is a user-friendly software that is useful in charging our clients.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lerby M. | Paralegal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2025

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

LawPay is great because you can forward a hyperlink to a client that takes them to a portal to make a payment. This is useful when a client is not available during our normal business hours.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

The downside of LawPay is the fees they charge us for charging credit cards.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LawPay is helps our business by processing payments conveniently and efficiently.

  ### 12. Great Time Saver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pam S. | Legal Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2024

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

We have multiple client databases connected, and payments can be taken through both but processed in one central application.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

There is no way to refund if a payment has been processed more than 6 months prior. We have clients on payment plans and if they choose to not follow through, we have to mail a check rather than have it directly refunded to the card used.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Billing in one central location.

  ### 13. Easy to use and fees are reasonable

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2024

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

You can bill a client with one click with the Quick Bill feature, and you can put a client on an automatic monthly charge.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

There is no automatic integration with our billing software; payments have to be manually entered.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accepting credit cards and ACH payments

  ### 14. LawPay is a great online payment provider for legal professionals

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

It is very easy to navigate and keep track of payments

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

It would be great to see the debits of the fees every month

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The link between LawPay and Clio allows us not to have to worry about recording every client payment.

  ### 15. Soluno integration needs refinement

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

Its reliability and user-friendliness. I also like the graphics associated with the software.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

The withdrawal of lumpsum merchant processing fees without forewarning or explanation.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving accounting and account reconciliation issues.

  ### 17. User Friendly!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristal P. | Administrative Assistant and Accounting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2022

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

Homepage includes a quick list of all the recent invoices so it's easy to see what has been sent out recently to be paid.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

Difficult to track client payment history if there is someone else paying for their invoices. Unless everything is inputting uniformly, it's possible someone's payment will not register under their client information. Example: If John pays for Susie's case, the payment is registered under John's name.

**Recommendations to others considering 8am LawPay:**

Law Pay is a good system to start taking digital payments. However, it is better if only a few people are involved in sending invoices to ensure they're uniform and that all client payments are associated with the right cases.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Law Pay makes payment accessible. It solves having to take manual card payments because they offer having a swipe card feature and clients can also pay via email

  ### 18. LawPay makes it easy

I am impressed with the new Card Vault feature, which allows me to store credit cards for future payments into multiple accounts.

The error codes when a payment is declined does not always make it clear what the issue is so going back to the client can be confusing.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LawPay makes it easy for clients to pay their invoices and for us to charge their retainer payments.

  ### 19. Ease of use!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kayte M. | Paralegal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

Simple, easy to use to take payments and see when they've gone through or failed.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

Can't think of anything other than maybe that I can't customize my dashboard.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Taking client's payments with ease.

  ### 20. Great Service but fees need to be more visible and accessible

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2020

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

It is very easy to use and user friendly. I like that it can segregate client trust funds from general funds. All my clients seem to be very happy about it.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

They make it nearly impossible to easily see the fees charged on a monthly basis. For a platform that is so technology forward, I find it surprising and disappointing that I am unable to easily see in a chart or easy format what I have been charge in fees both on a monthly and yearly basis. I have been told for years that something is in the works but nothing has happened while many other updates seem to come with ease. I hope this issue is addressed soon than later.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has solved my collection issues with clients. I no longer have to wait for checks or excuses about things getting lost in the mail or bounced payments.

  ### 21. Fees are a bit high

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2019

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

The ability to simply go to our landing page, enter the credit card information and clients information and run the card for any fees they have assessed.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

The processing fees are very high which discourages our clients form wanting to pay via credit card, so they want to mail checks, which take longer to arrive at our office.

**Recommendations to others considering 8am LawPay:**

Use it but beware of high processing fee for both the clients and users.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running credit cards seamlessly and emailing the client the receipt easily.

  ### 22. Lawpay Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kat M. | legal assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2019

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I like that lawpay makes billing quick and effortless. I definitely feel like our firm gets paid quicker and more efficiently than we did before we started using lawpay.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

This software is slightly more complicated to use than other softwares I've used in the past, but the customer service center is outstanding and helpful in making the process easier.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems: getting bills paid quicker and more efficiently, allowing customers to pay via credit card online, allowing payment plans so clients can pay what works for them.

  ### 23. Would recommend LawPay - easy use, low fees

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barb B. | Paralegal, Legal Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2017

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

LawPay is very user friendly. I think my favorite feature is the recharge. It can get to be a pain re-entering client credit card numbers in each time they call our office to make a payment. It's easy to refund as well. I like that we can send a link directly to clients to make their payments.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I think it's obnoxious to have to enter a security code every 30 days. Sometimes the email doesn't send right away. The only thing I would change would be to offer an ability to view the client's credit card number. It's come up a few times where it would have made things easier to review the number. Otherwise I have no complaints.

**Recommendations to others considering 8am LawPay:**

Highly recommend. Low fees, very user friendly.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our case management software has discontinued their payment services so we are no longer able to run credit cards through it. LawPay makes it easy for us to send a link to clients to make a payment and we just add it manually to their client portal. It's beneficial to be able to send a link to clients to make retainer replenishment payments. It's quick and easy and I don't have to mail out letters and sit on the phone with them getting their information, they can do it at their convenience.

  ### 24. Payment Processing for Law

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber K. | Director of Operations, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2018

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

As a law firm, having a separate trust and operating account is crucial. You can use lawpay for both.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

There is a lack of credit card readers so we enter credit cards manually.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to track all payments so we have a great idea of what's in trust and what's in operating.
