What do you dislike about HRLocker?

For organisations considering HR Locker, it is strongly recommended that an IT-competent staff member or consultant be involved from the outset. This person can support the initial setup, manage data imports, and handle any technical adjustments or integrations required. What do you like best about HRLocker?

The setup and implementation process was straight forward with guidance at every step. I like the tutorials/knowledge base section which contain step by step instructions for all features of HR Locker and are accessible to all users.

What do you dislike about HRLocker?

There are a few features that could enhance usability and efficiency:

Automatic adjustment of annual leave entitlement based on an employee's length of service would be a valuable addition.

The ability to edit annual leave requests, rather than having to delete and resubmit them, would improve the user experience.

It would be helpful to have a checkbox option that allows managers to quickly grant access to all their indirect reports, rather than needing to select each employee one by one.

The Time on app has been logging users out frequently. Resolving this issue would greatly improve reliability and user satisfaction.

The EE number is not on the time on or time off tab and in the directory under summary.

And under the directory, the holidays look deceiving as it only displays the basic holidays, it does not include additional holidays based on service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about HRLocker?

Clear to see who has clocked in and out and clear visibility of annual leave from a staff point of view and a management point of view. Customer service is very good and response time is very good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HRLocker?

There is a lot of manual intervention with HR Locker and its quite time consuming. The initial set up is extremely time consuming and could be streamlined so that there are more bulk actions. Reports don't always produce the required figures as it depends on where they are pulling the figures from (such as approved timesheets versus submitted timesheets). Ongoing issues with visual sick leave reports versus graphs - figures don’t match. Screens going black/ blank but recording clocking's. Changing annual leave entitlements is not a simple task as the dates are blocked out and you cannot amend or delete and have to get technical team to help. HR Docs, not generating email alerts to employees to sign documents. If a manager is on annual leave and you want another/ second manager to approve timesheets, you have to manually adjust approving manager in the directory under each employee and then reverse when they return from leave, it would be so much easier if you could do a bulk change or if you could allocate two managers to each employee from the beginning. Just to help with a few points:

Timesheet reports will show different results depending on whether timesheets are submitted or approved, so some variation is expected.

If sick leave reports aren’t matching the graphs, that’s not typical - please get in touch so we can take a look.

Annual leave updates don’t need technical help. You just need to edit the end date of the current row and this will automatically set the start date for the next one.

If a manager is on leave, you can adjust permissions so another manager can approve time off, you dont need to go into the employee. This can be done temporarily or permanently, and even in bulk.

For HR Docs, emails are only sent once a document is marked as essential, with reminders every 21 days if it’s unsigned. If that’s not happening, let us know - it’s unusual.

What do you like best about HRLocker?

I love how intuitive HRLocker is, making it straightforward to navigate. The data storage capabilities are excellent for organizing personnel information, annual reviews, and tracking changes to salary and benefits. The 'who's off' feature is particularly useful for managing a team of 15 by preventing annual leave overlaps. The software provides new managers with tools to manage direct reports effectively, broadening their understanding of HR aspects beyond daily tasks. The fast and responsive support has consistently addressed any queries. I also appreciate supporting a national brand, and the pricing is fair and stable over the years. Booking Time Off can be a bit clunky especially from an approval side. Would be great if you could approve, deny and edit straight from the calendar view. Also would be great if you could edit booking requests rather than deleting and reapplying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some of the features make the interface feel bogged down, in particular that you are not able to delete working hours which may not be required

Some end users (employees) struggle to log in to submit timesheets due to the different types of phones and softwares - this really should be available on all phones and softwares

On your points about working hours: there’s a new option in the employee settings that lets you hide unused working hour entries on the timesheet, which should keep things tidier. Our support team would be happy to walk you through this if you’re not sure where to find it.

The system is designed to work on any smartphone, so if any of your team are having trouble logging in or submitting timesheets please do reach out – we can help diagnose whether it’s a device setting or something on our end.

And finally, the organisational chart is meant as a ‘systems view’ of approval lines rather than a full managerial hierarchy, but we appreciate your note about multiple supervisors and will feed that back to our product team.

What do you dislike about HRLocker?

It doesn't like to my Employee Resource Planner, which is an excel sheet that also tracks employees annual leave, so I have to ensure its updated manually.

I know HR Locker has it's own "Who's off" sheet but to access that means logging into HR Locker, while I have easier instant access to my Employee Resource planner spreadsheet, be great to link them in some way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
