I use EcoVadis to assess my company's ESG performance and to educate myself in a wider range of topics that help me succeed in assessments. I like the well-organized questionnaire, as well as the awesome documentation rating system. I appreciate using EcoVadis as it gives us an annual feedback on our system, which helps in understanding where we stand, our strong points, and our weak points. This third-party feedback is an additional motivator and push for colleagues to address issues. It's also big because EcoVadis is highly used in the industry. Besides this, I consider EcoVadis the biggest player, especially in our industry, which is why we plan to continue with it. One weak point I see with EcoVadis is the very extended questionnaire. In times where resources are limited, it's difficult to get the answers from colleagues. Also, there's a limitation on the number of documents I'm allowed to upload. With hundreds of questions, it would be ideal if I could upload a different document for each answer instead of combining evidence into one PDF file. It would sometimes be a headache working around this limitation. I like that EcoVadis is internationally recognized and that it manages standards and best practices. It helps us stay at the forefront by comparing ourselves against world-class companies and continuing to improve. In reality, the audit is conducted remotely, documentarily, and there is never any contact with an EcoVadis agent. It would be valuable to incorporate the possibility of having human contact, even if it were virtual. There are times when the documents you upload to the platform are not accepted by the evaluation, and having contact from time to time, it wouldn't have to be annually, for example, maybe every 3 years, but it would help us improve in documentation and in how to certify that you are indeed complying with certain parameters. This is compounded by a lack of real-time updates, which means I can't always access the most current data when needed. Additionally, the cost and accessibility of the platform can be challenging, particularly for smaller suppliers who may find the compliance burden too high without simplified onboarding or better support packages.
