"No brainer for the restaurant business"

What do you like best?

Intuitive, saves time and is easy to set up. Up and running with analytics in less than an hour. Back in the day when the pompous big-city, inflated ego restaurant critics roamed the earth with a bag of lightning bolts—in that long lost era when print ruled and people read newspapers and had no say about their restaurant experiences, yelp was a sound a small dog made. Now, reviews can make or break a restaurant in the amount of time it takes to say "check please". I have been using this solution for over two years and it is a must have. The ability to create topic profiles and monitor mentions of Ozumo and measure brand sentiment are crucial. More importantly, I can also create profiles that allow me to analyze our competitors which is really important to our management team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I would like to be able to customize the reports before exporting them. I can actually manipulate the data once in excel but it would be nice to control from the dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is a great solution for teams that have various roles and responsibilities in regards to social media marketing. Extremely easy to set up and is very intuitive and enables users to manage monitoring and publishing across multiple platforms as well as provide the analytics needed to measure ROI. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Cision is a terrible choice for media monitoring"

What do you like best?

I guess if asked what I like best, I would say the contact search is probably it. I will say Cision manages to keep their contact database mostly up-to-date and relevant. The DMA feature when searching is very relevant and something Meltwater could not offer when I was a user of that product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

This is not a true user-friendly experience. You must contact your Cision rep to update your search terms, which is just silly. I also get TONS of totally irrelevant media clips in my daily reports. Also, half the media clips don't link to anything because they came from LexisNexis, which you need a separate login for (and I believe a separate paid subscription.) I came from a company using Meltwater and I can attest that Meltwater is light-years ahead and way better, even if they have some of their own glitches--at least you can change your own search terms. Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would highly, highly recommend that you take your time and see if you can do a live trial of Cision before signing a contract. We did a webinar with them at my previous company and I thought Cision looked awesome and like it would fit our needs better than Meltwater--I couldn't have been more wrong. We ultimately ended up sticking with Meltwater due to Cision's price, and thank goodness for that. Cision is like a barely-functioning, overpriced dinosaur compared to Meltwater. I probably sound like a paid ad, but seriously my experience has been that bad with Cision. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use Cision for media monitoring. I honestly think we're wasting our money. We use a separate program to send out news releases because Cision is already so expensive. I don't think we're solving any problems or gaining any benefit by using this product.
