## CisionOne Reviews
  ### 1. Great Data Insights, But UX and Integrations Need Improvement

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2026

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

The data which it provides! Clients have concsistently complimented the data which the product has been able to provide and the insights which it can gather from it.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

I think that the UX could be improved, and it would be good to see more intergrations with tools such as slack (unsure if this exists but flagging intergrations would be good)(

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CisionOne is allowing me to track the media landscape for all of my clients, and provide me with an accurate view of their share of voice for reporting

  ### 2. Coverage Tracking Is Useful, but Reloads and Inconsistent Search Results Hold It Back

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2026

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I like that it can track share of voice, and that it offers other coverage tracking capabilities.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

I don't like how pages need to reload to be able to see things refreshed, that not everything gets picked up consistently across searches, and that share of voice can only track mentions and not actual share of voice in the overall conversation.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes coverage tracking a bit easier, and it allows me to compare my clients to competitors.

  ### 3. AI Support Shines but Contact Limitations Frustrate

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pippa P.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I like the AI chatbot in CisionOne; it's actually pretty good and mostly can solve all my problems with step-by-step guides. I can ask it a specific question, and it gives me a very specific solution and guide on how to do the thing I want to do. It can also tell me if something is possible or not. We switched from Agility to CisionOne because we wanted better pitching capabilities, and that's something CisionOne does better.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

A lot of the contacts I want are not on the platform, which can be frustrating. Also, when I want to import a list, it doesn't let me import it with the outlet name, which is annoying because then I don't know where they work.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CisionOne for finding contacts and outlets, which saves time building media lists and allows me to access circulation figures and job titles.

**Official Response from Michalea Enmark:**

> Hi Pippa,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Happy to read the AI chatbot has been helpful in guiding you through your PR workflows and that the pitching capabilities supported your move to Cision.

We’re sorry to hear about the frustrations you’ve encountered with contacts and list imports. Your feedback has been shared with the relevant teams for review, and we invite you to contact your account team to help us better understand and resolve the challenges you’ve experienced.

Thanks for your feedback.

  ### 4. Great Reporting and Tracking, but the Recent UX Update Makes Navigation Hard

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2026

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

It has the potential to be really helpful if the UX were improved. For reporting purposes, it includes everything we need from a tool like this, and the real-time tracking and overall coverage are great.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

The UX—especially after the recent update—has made it even harder to find tools and navigate the different mechanisms.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

real time tracking, and saving us time

  ### 5. Poor Media Coverage Capture, Despite Useful Journalist Contacts and Lists

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Contact details for journalists and ability to create lists.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

The poor capturing of media coverage from reasonably mainstream media outlets.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have no problems to solve.

  ### 6. Difficult Transition, Robust Reporting, Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe W.

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I appreciate the robust reporting capabilities of CisionOne, as it creates detailed and comprehensive reports. I have always liked this feature since using the old Cision platform. The quality of daily reports is a standout aspect for me.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

The transition from the old Cision platform to CisionOne was difficult, and a lot of reporting data was lost during the process. This was frustrating, as it was not a smooth transition. The newsletter feature has issues with pulling in results that are inaccurate and do not match what was previously obtained with the old platform. The design of the daily reports is hard to read, and they tend to include a lot of small, inauthentic media coverage from smaller sites. This happens despite having set up a Boolean search. The reports need to be more accurately curated to pull only from authentic media sources. Currently, there are ongoing issues with the account that have not been fully resolved, which impacts the likelihood of recommending CisionOne to others.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CisionOne enhances media reporting with robust capabilities and assists in finding new journalists, but offers few benefits beyond the old platform.

**Official Response from Michalea Enmark:**

> Hi Joe,

Thank you for outlining your experience. We appreciate you highlighting the strength of the reporting capabilities and the quality of the daily reports and how they have been valuable to you over time.

We also recognize that the transition experience and reporting accuracy have not met expectations. Your feedback regarding data continuity, newsletter results, report clarity, and ongoing account concerns has been shared internally for review.

If these issues are still impacting your work, your account team can reconnect to review your current setup and discuss the outstanding items in more detail.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your perspective.

  ### 7. CisionOne: Powerful Analytics but Frustrating UX and Declining Reliability

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

The measurement capabilities with CisionOne are robust - there are a lot of different widgets, ways to analyze media activity and more. It's a very comprehensive tool.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

Unfortunately, since Cision upgraded to CisionOne, we've been increasingly unhappy with the solution. While it's quite robust in terms of capabilities, the UX is overly complicated and difficult to navigate. The way Cision is now pulling in results has also declined - it often misses coverage and/or can't pull accurate metrics. For the past three quarters, when it's come time to pull reports, our dashboards have broken or been deleted due to technical errors, forcing us to start from scratch.

The database has also declined substantially. More often than not, when we search for reporters, they aren't in the system.

I've been a TrendKite / Cision user my whole career, but unfortunately, their "upgrade" to CisionOne has created some serious issues that will force us to look elsewhere.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to pull PR metrics that we need to inform our strategies and measure our success. We also use it for its media database to search reporters and more.

**Official Response from Michalea Enmark:**

> Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback, and for your long standing partnership with Cision over the years. We truly appreciate the trust you have placed in us throughout that time.

We’re happy that measurement and analytics capabilities in CisionOne have continued to support your team’s work. At the same time, we take your concerns around reliability, search results, and the overall user experience very seriously, and hearing from long-time customers like you is crucial as we continue to improve our user experience.

Your feedback has been shared with the relevant internal teams so they can review the areas you’ve highlighted. However, we also encourage you to share this feedback with your account team if you haven’t already done so.

Thanks again for your review.

  ### 8. Comprehensive Media Database, But Interface Lags and Journalist Info Lacking

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

- Comprehensive media database, when compared to other platforms.
- Comprehensive media monitoring tool for the most part.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

- Slow interface and regularly lags.
- Media database removed descriptions of journalists in place of their X bios, which makes researching more labor intensive.
- Media database filtering is hard to use and the results are often overwhelming.
- Results from media monitoring often have discrepancies -- a publication may mention a company several times throughout the week but not all of the articles will appear.
- Boolean queries are somewhat effective but often requires a lot of filtering, which then omits certain results.
- Process for scheduling alerts is clunky, requiring extra steps just to schedule a recurring alert schedule.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a one-stop solution for media monitoring and database.

**Official Response from Michalea Enmark:**

> Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We appreciate you calling out the strength of the media database and monitoring capabilities, especially in comparison to other platforms.

We also understand that parts of the experience haven’t met expectations. We’ve shared your broader feedback internally so it can be reviewed as part of ongoing improvements to performance, database quality, and overall usability.

If these issues are still impacting your work, your account team would be glad to connect and review your setup with you.

Thank you again for your honest perspective.

  ### 9. Disappointing and not fit for modern PR reporting

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2025

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

n/a - I only hear negative feedback from my team - dealing with Cision's limitations has been a major drain on my team's time and my time.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

We changed to CisionOne from Muck Rack last year and it was a really bad decision. The functionality is more limited, and all of the AI features that Cision claims to have were non-existent. They put blocks and limits on the numbers of searches you can do which seriously reduces capabilities when doing research for new business or monitoring client competitors. The platform is not intuitive and there is no way of filtering out meaningless mentions without manually sifting. This has been very disappointing and as soon as our contract expires we will be moving back to Muck Rack.

In addition, when pitching the media, the emails we send to journalists don't appear to come from us and look spammy.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to build media lists and report on performance. I would hesitate to say whether it is solving either of those problems appropriately.

  ### 10. Misses Article Mentions, and Email/Sharing Formatting Feels Less Clean Than Before

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tiarra R. | Digital Community Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

The ability to add articles, altholugh they take longer to go to the RSS feed.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

It does not catch all the article mentions and you can format emails and share articles in a clean format like you could on the older version.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does the work for us. We do not have to do a mass Google search to monitor any mentions of our organization.

**Official Response from Michalea Enmark:**

> Hi Tiarra,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Cision. It’s encouraging to hear that the ability to add articles supports your day‑to‑day work.

We also appreciate your comments about article mentions and formatting when sharing or emailing coverage. Feedback like this is very valuable and has been shared with our internal teams as we continue to refine the CisionOne experience.

If you’d like to talk through any of your points in more detail, your account team is always happy to support you.

Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review.

  ### 11. Usable Platform, Needs Faster Notifications

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** yasmine f.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I find CisionOne very usable. I also appreciate the media notifications, which provide instant insights for my clients.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

I think notifications need to come through much faster.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CisionOne for media monitoring and coverage reporting. It tracks media relevant to my clients.

**Official Response from Michalea Enmark:**

> Hi Yasmine,

Thanks for letting us know how Cision is working for you. It’s helpful to hear that the platform’s usability and notification features support your monitoring and reporting needs along with delivering insights to your clients.

You also mentioned that faster alerts would be beneficial, and we’ve shared that feedback with our internal teams as part of our ongoing improvement work.

We're more than happy to partner with you to help improve your overall experience. You can always reach out to your account management team if you’d like to discuss anything further.

Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review.

  ### 12. Good Features, But Needs Better Customer Support

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber M.

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I appreciate that CisionOne makes it easy to find relevant media contacts to connect with and pitch our stories. The analytics and dashboards are highly useful for quantifying the impact of our media campaigns. Additionally, the staff was helpful during setup, which eased the transition.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

{"I find the customer service could be better.","There is a need for more consistent analytics across different platform iterations.","I would prefer reverting back to the previous iteration of the platform."}

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CisionOne helps me easily find media contacts to pitch stories and quantify media campaign impacts, enhancing outreach and analysis.

**Official Response from Michalea Enmark:**

> Hi Amber,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. It’s good to hear that finding relevant media contacts and using the dashboards to measure campaign impact have supported your outreach and reporting efforts, and that the initial setup process felt smooth.

We’ve also taken note of your comments regarding customer support, analytics consistency, and your preference for aspects of the previous platform experience. This feedback has been shared internally for review.

If these issues are still impacting your work, your account team can reconnect to better understand how we can improve your experience.

Thank you again for taking the time to leave your review.

  ### 13. Tries its best

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Takes on an incredibly heavy task, and does an admirable job at trying.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

I could go on forever, I would say there is a lot of inconsistencies in the mention pick-ups especially when you want a curated mention stream.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Capturing media mentions at a large scale in a relatively efficient manner.

**Official Response from Michalea Enmark:**

> Hi there,

Thanks for taking a moment to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with CisionOne hasn’t lived up to your expectations and for highlighting the challenges you’ve experienced regarding consistency in mention pickup.

We’ve shared your feedback internally so it can be considered alongside other customer input as we work to evolve the platform.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with us.

  ### 14. Lots of hype, but big let down

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Environmental Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2024

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

There are some great new features, but the benefits are lost because the user experience and visual organization is so chaotic and hard to navigate.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

One of the reasons I selected Cision was the ease of the platform and the simple user experience. It was streamlined, organized, and super easy to use. CisionOne is chaotic and visually overwhelming. Even the alert emails are far more difficult to read. If it isn't broken, don't fix it and the old Cision was not broken. I have recommended Cision for years to peers but this new user experience is not anything worth recommending. I will be evaluating a new option at the end of my contract. I use Cision daily and find myself dreading using CisionOne now.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The old version was addressing all of my problems with media monitoring, social listening, and reporting. The new version is creating more problems than it is solving at the moment. I needed a more robust social listening feature like TalkWalker but instead now I can't sort through the chaos on my screen with the new version.

  ### 15. Not an intuitive or nice to look at experience

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2024

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

The list feature and ability to send media alerts from the platform are good features.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

The search is so so poor. It is shocking to me how it has passed quality control. It is seemingly impossible to search for people by title within a publication, which should be a very basic feature. It is not easy to use and displayed very inaesthetically.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The search is very poor, compared with Gorkana which was a lot more intuitive. It also looks cheap and outdated.

  ### 16. Equivalent to a google search

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Aggregates news stories identified with key terms and provides analytics on source reputability and shares. good database of journalists for outreach if you invest in that service

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

no broadcast or social coverage, searches difficult to perfect - a strong history with boolean required. return a lot of duplicates and not always clear where the keywords lie. newsletter function requires a lot of manual work even if automated, limited design and customizability. lots of returns hidden by media paywalls.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

news monitoring and sharing out, analytics of reach, performance. identifying journalists for outreach. tagging and organizing news stories by topic, dates, etc

  ### 17. Poor analytics and delayed customer service have negatively impacted my experience

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan C. | Director, Content and Communications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2021

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

My Sales rep. was very honest and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

An analytics bug made reporting useless. Our account manager is very non-responsive.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

The level of service has gone down since the start of the pandemic, like if they're going to call to confirm something 15 minutes later, it's often 4 or 5 hours later, after regular business hours. You might want to enter into a trial or limited agreement first to see if they work as a solution for your company.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it for distributing press releases.

  ### 18. You get what you pay for

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2019

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Cision is easy to use and basic to understand. There are no frills about it.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

There are much more sophisticated platforms out there, but at triple the price. Every time I want to make a change to how our results are filtered, I have to go through our rep. Wish there was a user way to make those changes. Most every time I ask a question, my question is questioned with something else or not understood correctly the first time, always by email instead of clarifying on the phone. A quick phone call could clarify that and maybe provide additional suggestions instead of using that time to type, instead.

In addition, not all stations are monitored, nor are some up and coming online sites monitored. It's frustrating to see a clip appear on a google alert but not get picked up by Cision. We know we are missing clips but if you don't know about them, you can't ask about them.

Some clips also appear without a value or reach. This is frustrating. Although valuing a clip is somewhat antiquated, it should be all or nothing, vs some having values and others not.

Not all influencers are added to the database or removed from the database in a timely manner. I've found influencers who joined stations 6 months prior and they are still not included in their current position. Keeping up your own database is a regular task.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

Find out your needs. If you only use media monitoring locally where you're aware of the media pickups, it might make more sense to use Cision vs a more sophisticated platform. If you are doing more national press, consider all of your options, especially if budget is not an issue.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Media monitoring/clip count by DMA/Overall value and reach/scheduling press releases/identifying influencers in the market.

  ### 19. This tool is ok but not great.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2019

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I only use the media contacts database (although it's not exactly up to date) to make lists in order to contact journalists or newsrooms of selected media. This works ok 2 times out of 3 depending on the geographic area or the specified subject.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

It's not a very efficient tool. It's not really adapted for local coverage. There are lots of entries but many are actually duplicates. Many are outdated with invalid info (email or phones). The media landscape moves on very quickly and this database doesn't reflect that. And many that really exist are not included. It's not easy to filter them since they are given by the simple address (if available). It's not easy to build lists for a given area (unless you put the whole list of all municipalities). In a nutshell, this tool is ok but not great. It can help a bit but sometimes it takes much more time to seek the info in the CCC than on Google.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

Don't expect too much...

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making lists for a wider but homogenic areas (i. e. some city surrounding towns which can be hundreds) is very long. There is no selector on a map. // Lots of outdated contact and media info // It lacks too many media profiles, longtime existing or recently created media. // If some contact profile has invalid or old info, the only way to get it updated is to report it through a form which is pretty heavy for this kind of action, especially when you need to report tens of profiles.

  ### 20. Not great

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabian C. | Account manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2019

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Very little. The premise is there but the execution isn't fully realised

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

I feel the UX isn't designed well at all

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's too clunky for me to feel it's resolving anh problems

  ### 21. Not worth the money

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Cision can be really helpful when needing to find out how campaigns have played out and tracking different companies.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

Cision is not updated regularly with new media contacts. Often times the contact info for editors is not available or exist on the database at all. I would not recommend using Cision to find editor's info - better off digging through the depths of the internet instead.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

Don't use this database for finding media contacts - waste of time and money.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It can help you see if a campaign was successful and meeting its goals which is very beneficial in PR.

  ### 22. Daily media monitoring and broadcast monitoring

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2018

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

What I like best is the ability to pull broadcast clips.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

I do not find the service user-friendly at all. The monitoring it pulls daily is also not comprehensive.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

I would honestly recommend others use another service (ex: MuckRack).

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pulling broadcast coverage and trying to get comprehensive coverage.

  ### 23. Incorrect data, bad alignment of keywords and topics for searches

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2018

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Nothing about cision was good so we switched to another service.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

Incorrect contact information on journalists, poor keyword search alignment.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No benefits realized - creates more work for us

  ### 24. The best available, but still lacking

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2018

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Ability to send mass communications. Quick process once lists are in place.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

How manual the process is. Not intuitive

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

Take advantage of the ability to report out of date information. It’s everywhere.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s a time saver when you are pitching hundreds of media markets and contacts. Ability to create lists and templates helps maximize efficiency.

  ### 25. Useful but pricey

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2018

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

It was easy to use but I don't know if it was worth the cost.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

It was expensive and the changes would sometimes make it harder to figure out.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Press contacts- press releases-list building

  ### 26. Good potential but lots of problems

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Policy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2017

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

This software allows me to find the contact info for reporters. The information is all in one place, so I don't have to google around and look at twitter pages, and it has information that I can't find elsewhere.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

There is no easy way to do a media scan, at least not with the Vocus/Cision merged product. I can't use key words to pull up relevant reporters in a region that cover my specific topic. Plus, scrolling through results is nearly impossible with a mac trackpad, as the results fly by way too fast.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Cision to find contact information for reporters that I can't find elsewhere, and this is a big benefit that allows me to target my pitches.

  ### 27. Cision for review

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2017

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

database is vast and wide, ability to make lists on the database and keep track of reporter updates

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

lag time when searching for reporters, toggles for a bit, would like it be a bit quicker and immediate; would like better editorial calendars for publications

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

interface need some work

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

access to a big database and information

  ### 28. Cision - Not living up to the hype

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2017

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

The news and media tracking tool is nicely served to my inbox.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

It’s not at all the social media tool they hyped it to be. Can’t have multiple accounts in their platform.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

No

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Catches all mentions of our brand, no matter where they show up.

  ### 29. Too expensive

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis G. | Marketing and Communications Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2017

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I honestly used Cision and Meltwater and have NO idea why metlwater is so much cheaper-- is it because Cision is a "brand name" and Meltwater is a start up or less known? They the do EXACT same thing but one is WAY cheaper and its not Cision.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

The Price! Way too much money -- big money for not a whole lot of bang

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

get a cheaper product or offer cheaper services! good product but too expensive, not unique enough in the market to be selling it for so much (free product galore people can use instead of this)

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does solves amazing PR and marketing problems. It is a good software just very pricey and not cheap.

  ### 30. CIsion Social Media

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2017

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Ability to search for and find followers in my target industry. You could also schedule messages through Cision.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

It was a new product with many bugs and glitches. Functionality would break or stop working and when I would reach out to my account rep to try and get some answers/fixes, it didn;t happen. They were very slow to respond and ultimately these remedies never even occured.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Did not resolve any of my business problems

  ### 31. Account Supervisor

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2017

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Searching for media and analyst emails. Checking publication circulation. I do not use it for much else.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

The actual list function - building lists is useless.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Media outreach

  ### 32. great for agencies

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2017

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

database is robust, I liked being able to target media. It did take awhile for submitted changes to appear, but they did appear.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

user interface was old and klunky, very expensive and didn't have a price point to match my needs

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

I would share this tool with others. Very good for agencies.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it was a great way to send press releases out, and I liked being able to review profiles of media.

  ### 33. Government Relations Software needs to innovate

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2017

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Ability to use work-arounds to make the product work harder for you.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

The product is clunky and has not innovated over the years.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

Upgrade your government relations software.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was a great start to being to engage our advocates. It really helped elevate our program.

  ### 34. Ugh

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2016

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

The list building feature is probably the best part. And the fact that Cision is the only media database that has a complete (ish) list of broadcast stations is good.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

It's not as reliable as I'd like it to be. Often contacts are old or inaccurate, and there's not a link to coverage. Also, why don't all publications have UVM/readership? Also there are often duplicates of publications, or you find yourself not being able to find things because of one minor spacing/spelling issue. Why isn't search natural? Muckrack beats them at this.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

If you're a freelancer, go to Muckrack instead. If you're in tech, go to IT Database.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unfortunately Cision is the best-ish media database for PR people and can help you get a baseline understanding of how to contact many media. It's certainly not perfect, and it can't be the only product you have. I find myself using Muckrack first, then Cision as a backup.

  ### 35. Cision Review

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2017

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Good to gain contacts and to send pitches.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

Not user friendly, not visually pleasing.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Use it to find contacts to pitch to.

  ### 36. I miss Cision

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2015

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I like the helpful service and quick updates.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

There are a lot of issues with accuracy, which have shown through when we did a media mailer and tons of them came back undeliverable. That did not look good to the client considering part of the markup they pay is for services like this. There are frequently not individual journalist numbers listed, no newsdesk numbers (this is very simple, and should be the baseline for every TV station in the country) and one time I even had a journalist listed with her cell number (which it didn't denote it was a cell number) and she had actually moved publications. It was quite embarrassing, and not denoting when a number is mobile could really get some PR people in hot water.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can't run a PR agency without a media database. The only benefit of this over others, is that your customer service makes update. Vocus and Cision had much better accuracy, so I'm hopeful this merger will solve those issues soon.

  ### 37. Stalwart that needs updating

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan S. | Senior Account Director, Public Relations and Communications, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2015

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Ability to find and filter journalists in top DMAs.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

List building and exporting is clunky. Slow UI.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

You will need to augment Cision with a real-time tracking/alert system since the churn of journalists is higher than ever. MuckRack (around $200/month) uses Twitter's API to monitor journalists tweets and bios - the first thing they change when leaving a role - so having both for preparing initial lists and then managing ongoing outreach is essential.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Targeted media outreach for early and mid-stage technology companies. The benefits over MuckRack and newer online journalist tracking is a more in-depth analysis of respective journalists focus areas.

  ### 38. Good Customer Service

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2015

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

How rapidly the people that work at Gorkana respond and the extent that they will go to to find information

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

That many of the entries are incorrect. Journalists are with the wrong publication, the number isn't right, their beat changed, etc. Gorkana is a starting point but at our agency no one call pull information there without double checking ALL of the information first.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

I hear Cision is better

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It takes a load off of us to have other people find the info which is helpful

  ### 39. Large database of contacts, infrequently updated

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2015

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I've been using Cision/Vocus for a variety of purposes for around 4 years. It can be useful for contact searching, or a starting point when looking for some info on a media contact. Typically, I'll use Cision as a go-to when I first begin looking up info, then confirm how up to date information is by going directly to the media publication's website.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

Unfortunately, I've found that Cision is infrequently updated, even for some of the most popular publications. I've gotten hundreds of bouncebacks on contacts listed as current on both trade and mainstream media publications.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've finding information on media contacts that helps my clients get in the news.

  ### 40. We use Vocus for our monitoring service.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2015

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

The type that appears that hopefully gives enough info on the story without having to go to the link. And they recently assigned us a troubleshooter.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

The way broadcast clips are done. The fact that when they switched to Critical Mention, they lost months worth of clips from Univision. The fact that I have to click three times before it lets me deleted something. The fact that sometimes I can't open a clip.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

Check to make sure they can get the TV and radio that you need.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to justify our hard work through a daily report we send to management. Vocus helps us create that report.

  ### 41. Good, could use updates

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2015

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Access to information about reporters/media oulets - Vocus

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

Customer Service
Not user friendly
Clunky distribution entry
Inability to send press releases for single event in multiple cities
Actions when creating lists could be more user friendly and streamlined
Hard to weed out junk news/social media results that do not pertain to selected organizations
Feels old and outdated
Analytics aren't very accurate without doing a lot of work to make them so
I was impressed with Radian6 for social media monitoring... Vocus could take a note from that system

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

Radian6 is awesome...take note for PR purposes

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Used to distribute to media and learn about media

  ### 42. Other software has performed better

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2015

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

It has a lot of features that are useful for media tracking. The all in one product was useful for keeping my work in one tab on my browser.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

It has a clunky interface and does not load properly. Much of the information I hoped to get was lacking because they couldn't pull the information from the system.

**Recommendations to others considering CisionOne:**

Find something better.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were attempting to track social media mentions, press releases, and traditional media. Much of this was not achieved.

  ### 43. Short-lived

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2015

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I can find all of our media mentions in one place.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

We do not seem to have a use for the tool at this time.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not many. We do not take advantage of the tool.

  ### 44. Tested but did not subscribe

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2015

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Ability to export to CSV to manipulate and analyze data

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

Limited ability to filter out duplicate or low-quality items

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assess earned media. Did not go with Cision
