What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

Love the ablility to simplify the logic of our applications to lambdas and the various language options Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Lambda?

I have not run into any major issue so far. That said, the ability to build tests could be enhanced. Also would like better integration to a local dev/test/build environment. Recommendations to others considering AWS Lambda:

Really depends on the data limit. If the data youre trying to transfer over is over 6mb. AWS Lambda will not bee a good solution. Other than that, I don't see another problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is AWS Lambda solving and how is that benefiting you?

My team runs the reporting tool of our enterprise software and there is a lot of scheduled distribution that runs all day long. One lambda function we have allow us to run a node server to generate data visuals for the report. It is fast and a low failure rate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplest way to get started in the AWS Cloud"

What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

We have been starting to migrate some of our on prem services to the cloud. This removes complexity of provisioning, orchestrating, scaling our services. We are a mostly C# skilled shop and this is a great way to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Lambda?

Hot/Cold tendency of Lamda functions. The services we were running had a periodicity of usage that was about 2 minutes long every two minutes - Lamda containers goes cold and shutdown in those 20 minutes and it takes time to warm up - affecting performance. We need to find a way to keep containers warm during the 20 minutes to keep the performance optimal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about AWS Lambda?

We started using Lambda this year, and it is simple to learn and create a serverless application. The way that Lambda integrates with other AWS services is really great and awesome to leverage other services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Lambda?

The lack of build libraries is bad. They don't include pandas or numpy, but at least you can import them into your lambda function if you want to use external libraries. I just wish there were more build libraries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Lambda can be used for more things than application development. If you have code that needs to run, then I would suggest Lambda. Lambda can also be scheduled. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Tons of connectors with other apps, flexibility with coding language and the dependency modules that we can implement. Has provision to download from npm automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
