This ability to take my expertise in Raster image editing software and applying to in 3D rather the just editing flat 2D texture maps allows for placing detail the way you want it to look directly on your 3D model and with its sister program Substance Designer you can author PBR files and use them directly between each program. **What do you dislike about Adobe Substance 3D Painter?** I dislike that Adobe has turned it into another Software as a Service element creative professionals need to shell out money each month for continued use. I was fortunate enough to have bought a perpetual license from Allegorithmic before Adobe's acquisition so I'm not paywalled out of just using the software. I also found some aspects like opacity mapping and some blending options to not work how they should and it sometimes made making transparent or semi-transparent elements to be more difficult to create. **Recommendations to others considering Adobe Substance 3D Painter:** If you want a powerful tool for quickly designing your textures or to update or improve on existing textures in your 3D workflow I'd recommend this and Substance Designer. **What problems is Adobe Substance 3D Painter solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows me to more quickly create my textures and to directly paint them onto my 3D meshes compared to the old way of exporting UV Maps into Photoshop and designing them somewhat blindly there and updating my models to tweak them. In the last few years that I've been using this app, I haven't had any negative emotions, maybe some bugs have popped up, but they've been resolved quickly in the next update. **What problems is Adobe Substance 3D Painter solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Substance Painter as my primary application for texturing my models, which are operating in online games. The ability to texture, bake, work with texture maps, and export texture maps with different presets. Using channels all allows me to work more productively. ### 49. But the good news is you most likely have this software already. **What problems is Adobe Substance 3D Painter solving and how is that benefiting you?** The only issues I have ever had with substance painter are related to adapting substandard geometry.
