Adobe Substance 3D Painter is the reference texturing app for 3D professionals and enthusiasts. I used past few years during texturing. It's too flexible and easy to use . all tools are too good, and so many options to flexible my texturing process, .and the most liked part are Real-Time Render Preview. At its core, Substance Painter is clunky. It's very resource-heavy for the average user and can be challenging to work in if the computer's hardware wasn't built for 3D work. Additionally, Adobe's render engine is still terrible. With the new functions added in the last version, the tool is easy to handle, the realism that you can achieve in 3D models is impressive, and more than that, the software can generate the UV maps of the 3D models without the need to do them in third party programs and the ease of communication between the different software that are called plugins Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The truth is that there is very little to talk about the bad of this digital painting tool since it is practically a professional software but the only thing that I did not like was the replacement of the icons of the suite of these programs managed by ADOBE Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There's a lot to appreciate when it comes to Substance Painter. It's easy to load your pre-existing high-res or low-res meshes, maps, and custom materials into the app and get right into developing high-quality textured assets. The tools are simple enough to engage with, and there's quite a bit of nuance to each one. You can also download assets from both Adobe and the strong community of users that upload their custom generators, materials, brushes, alphas, and so on. Substance Painter can perform well even on a mid-range machine, so you won't need to worry about having the absolute best hardware to do the job. I've had some stability issues since moving to the Adobe version, but I'm hoping that's just a transitional thing that will sort itself out over time. Crashing while exporting isn't entirely new to Substance when you're working at high resolution but it does seem to happen more frequently since the changeover was made. The learning curve seemed to be relatively short on Substance Painter. I was able to watch some videos (even the outdated ones) and still learn how to use a function. With the software having so many options and functions, it does make it difficult trying to navigate around and find the right tool or a setting from time to time if you don't use it daily. If I took a break for a couple of weeks or more, I would spend a good fifteen minutes trying to remember how I did something. Another feature I dislike isn't strictly linked to Substance Painter but more the practice of subscription licenses instead of being able to buy a license once and have it. The ambient occlusion generator saves me so much time, I used to have to bake it myself in blender ,

I don't really like the lack of option for adding normal map detail, of I project a logo onto something and try to layer it onto normals I can't control the strength of it. This would be a cool addition and save me doing it post in Photoshop Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
