What do you dislike about Adobe Substance 3D Painter?

Cost: Adobe Substance 3D Painter is a professional software and it can be quite expensive, especially for individual users or small studios.

Learning curve: The software has a lot of features and tools, and it can take some time to learn how to use them all effectively.

System requirements: The software requires a powerful computer with a dedicated graphics card and a lot of RAM to run smoothly, which can be an issue for users with older or less powerful systems.

Limited file format support: Substance 3D Painter supports limited file format, it can be a problem for users who work with other types of 3D software or game engines.

Limited compatibility: The software is not compatible with some older operating systems, which can be an issue for users who are still using these older systems.

"The Essential 3D Texturing App with the Community to Back It!"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Substance 3D Painter?

There's a lot to appreciate when it comes to Substance Painter. It's easy to load your pre-existing high-res or low-res meshes, maps, and custom materials into the app and get right into developing high-quality textured assets. The tools are simple enough to engage with, and there's quite a bit of nuance to each one. You can also download assets from both Adobe and the strong community of users that upload their custom generators, materials, brushes, alphas, and so on. Substance Painter can perform well even on a mid-range machine, so you won't need to worry about having the absolute best hardware to do the job. Still, you will find that texture resolution will be clamped to a level based on your graphics card's abilities, likely for stability purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Substance 3D Painter?

I've had some stability issues since moving to the Adobe version, but I'm hoping that's just a transitional thing that will sort itself out over time. Crashing while exporting isn't entirely new to Substance when you're working at high resolution but it does seem to happen more frequently since the changeover was made. "A Solid Application for 3D painting"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Substance 3D Painter?

The learning curve seemed to be relatively short on Substance Painter. I was able to watch some videos (even the outdated ones) and still learn how to use a function. If something seemed hard to find based on outdated tutorials, a quick search seemed to do the trick in seeing what I wanted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Substance 3D Painter?

With the software having so many options and functions, it does make it difficult trying to navigate around and find the right tool or a setting from time to time if you don't use it daily. If I took a break for a couple of weeks or more, I would spend a good fifteen minutes trying to remember how I did something. Another feature I dislike isn't strictly linked to Substance Painter but more the practice of subscription licenses instead of being able to buy a license once and have it. "The best tool for design ever"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Substance 3D Painter?

I love this new version, and it really is way above its competition. It has many points in its favor, nothing compares to Substance Painter, and this is because it is a much more complete and easy-to-use program, especially with its new user interface. Highly recommended if you want speed and excellent results Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Substance 3D Painter?

I know it is an excellent program for design but I would like the prices to be a little lower. I understand that quality costs but they would be great if it cost less, it's the only bad thing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are a lot of features and at times it can feel overwhelming. However, being able to access the training materials online is definitely helpful.
