"Mudbox : A reliable tool for creative 3D development"
What do you like best about Mudbox?

Mudbox offers a smooth, artist-friendly workflow for sculpting and painting directly on 3D models. Its intuitive interface feels natural, helping us shape ideas into detailed, visually strong assets for campaigns and presentations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mudbox?

The main limitation is its need for powerful hardware—working with high-res textures and dense geometry requires a solid GPU and plenty of RAM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It is basically Minecraft, just for advanced architects"
What do you like best about Mudbox?

I love how easy and cheap this is to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mudbox?

I dislike how much storage it takes to download something like minecraft, with the only difference being that it costs $85/year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy 3D edition for not graphic artists. "
What do you like best about Mudbox?

It makes my job a lot easier. As a part of my job, I need to point out which areas should have a different focus so before I started using this I opened the OBJ and took screenshots of everything that needs to be changed. It's ok with one or 2 changes but more than that becomes very tedious I tried Maya and gave up but this is easy enough to learn for what I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mudbox?

Right-click commands are just not for me, I guess they work for some other kind of person but I just don't like them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Mudbox?

Mudbox create highly detailed 3D characters using amazing digital tools. I love how i can imagine things sketch them and finally work on the original thing. It's user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mudbox?

With time i have learnt how to sketch, draw and color object. This has been a major tool in my industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tool for quick 3D drafts "
What do you like best about Mudbox?

You don't even need words when you can see clearly the product idea from all the different angles, with mudbox in less than one hour you can draft a great model that works as an amazing starting point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mudbox?

It's great for drafting but the obj exported are not a good base to create a final product design. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The easiest to use 3D software "
What do you like best about Mudbox?

Many things, above all is how easy is to learn how to use it. After you learn the basics that can take you literally minutes, or maybe 1 or 2 hours if you take the time to understand everything in detail. Inside this has many templates, brushes, easy selection and it has an offering of a free copy for students. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mudbox?

It's not as powerful with 3D drawings as Maya. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Digital Artist Who Used Mudbox in College"
What do you like best about Mudbox?

I like how easy the controls are to learn... Some of the tools are similar to Maya (where I used to make 3D models), so it translates nicely. It has fun preloaded patterns, colors, and effects to practice on the models. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mudbox?

Sometimes, it was glitchy... it could do a better job at recognizing where a small gap in the model is and closing it automatically for a seamless surface, but this issue really only affected me when I was working on 3D models that were messy on purpose (For example, I "broke" a model to make it like a shrub in a garden, but it resulted in a model not really usable within Mudbox... So, I just colored it myself in Maya). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mudbox"
What do you like best about Mudbox?

Very good software for modelling and texturing and lighting. Little difficult for amateurs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mudbox?

Mudbox's retopology operations worked very well for models sculpted in Mudbox, and with a bit of effort Mudbox can be cajoled into retopologising imported or scanned models which sometimes is troublesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good Alternative to ZBrush for High Poly Sculpting"
What do you like best about Mudbox?

Autodesk's answer to ZBrush provides all the tools necessary to compete when it comes to creating high polygonal models. What it offered over ZBrush was also the ability to paint your maps on your meshes, later versions also provided some nice tools for correcting your topography so that areas of the mesh that were stretched a little too much would be more distributed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mudbox?

Mudbox is good but not as good as ZBrush which has better tools and just does the sculpting better, Mudbox isn't as well utilized among professionals as ZBrush is and when I first learned it, it wasn't as well documented. They've improved upon it in later versions but still could be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
