"End-to-End, Centralized Monitoring with ManageEngine Applications Manager"
5/5
What do you like best about ManageEngine Applications Manager?

What I like most about ManageEngine Applications Manager is its comprehensive and centralized monitoring capability. It allows us to monitor applications, servers, databases, URLs, APIs, JVMs, services, and business transactions from a single platform.

I particularly appreciate:

- Centralized monitoring – Provides a single dashboard for monitoring multiple technologies and environments.

- Wide technology support – Supports application servers such as JBoss/WildFly and Tomcat, databases, Linux/Windows servers, APIs, URLs, and many other components.

- Effective alerting – Helps the monitoring team identify issues quickly through alarms, thresholds, and notifications.

- Application and infrastructure correlation – Makes it easier to understand whether an application issue is related to infrastructure, database, server, or service performance.

- Custom dashboards and reports – Useful for creating client-specific dashboards, management reports, and operational views.

- MSP suitability – Its centralized administration and probe-based architecture are particularly useful for managing monitoring across multiple clients and locations.

- Integration capabilities – The ability to integrate with tools such as OpManager and other systems helps create a unified monitoring and reporting environment.

- Troubleshooting visibility – Metrics such as JVM health, heap utilization, response time, database performance, and application availability provide useful information for L1/L2 troubleshooting.

Overall, I like Applications Manager because it provides end-to-end visibility from infrastructure to application level, which helps the monitoring team improve incident detection, troubleshooting, reporting, and service availability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ManageEngine Applications Manager?

The main areas I feel could be improved in ManageEngine Applications Manager are related to performance, usability, troubleshooting, and customization in complex MSP environments.

- Probe performance and scalability: Large monitoring environments with a high number of monitors can sometimes require careful capacity planning and tuning.

- Alert/alarm reliability: In some situations, alerts may require additional validation or troubleshooting to understand why an alarm was not generated as expected.

- Dashboard customization: Creating highly customized business dashboards can sometimes require additional configuration or integration effort.

- Reporting flexibility: Standard reports are useful, but certain client-specific reporting requirements may require additional customization or external tools.

- Troubleshooting complexity: Some application-level issues require deeper investigation through logs, database queries, or OEM support rather than being immediately identifiable from the console.

- Third-party integrations: Integrations with external tools can sometimes require additional configuration, API knowledge, or OEM support.

- Documentation: More detailed, scenario-based troubleshooting documentation for complex production issues would make it easier for L1/L2 teams to resolve incidents independently.

Overall, I find the product useful, but improvements in scalability, alert reliability, dashboard flexibility, reporting, and troubleshooting visibility would make it even more effective for large MSP and enterprise monitoring environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
