APM stands for Application Performance Monitoring. An application performance monitoring tool helps monitor and manage the health, availability, and performance of applications in real-time. Ideally, APM tools collect data from various sources such as application logs, server metrics, user interactions, external dependencies and more to monitor key performance indicators like response time, throughput, error rates, resource utilization, etc. This helps provide insight into application behavior and aids in identifying, troubleshooting  performance issues before end users are affected.
