Versatile Club is an India-native Employer of Record. If you are hiring in India, you can use us, whatever country your company is registered in. We employ your hires on our own Indian entity, so you get engineers, designers and operators in India without registering a company here. India is all we do. Your company can be registered anywhere.
The entity is Foo Falcon Technologies Private Limited, registered with RoC-Bangalore on 28 June 2022 and running India payroll since. We are the entity. The company that signs your employee's contract is the same company that files with EPFO and ESIC, deducts TDS, pays state professional tax and accrues gratuity. No local partner sits in the middle.
Who uses Versatile Club
Anyone hiring in India. The employment happens here either way, so where your company is incorporated changes the invoice currency and nothing else. Three patterns come up most.
Founders making a first India hire, usually Seed to Series B, with no India team and no India HR.
People Ops leaders running an India team of 10 to 100 who are on a global EOR today and want India handled by people who only do India.
Finance leaders who need audit-ready India payroll documentation and one consolidated invoice in place of a spread of local vendors.
What is included for every employee
Indian employment contracts, appointment letters and policy documents drafted under the Indian labour codes

Offboarding, notice period administration and full and final settlement
A named compliance manager from day one
Pricing
$149 per employee per month, flat. It drops to $129 per employee per month once you pass twenty employees. There is no setup fee, no exit fee and no minimum term.
Gross salary and employer statutory contributions are billed at actuals. We add no FX spread on top of the conversion. You get one invoice in your local currency from our Indian entity, which keeps the cross-border payment FEMA-compliant and keeps you clear of a permanent establishment in India.
That sits inside the India-native price band, which runs roughly $99 to $399 per employee per month. Cheapest headline fee is a poor way to pick an EOR. What decides your actual spend is total cost once statutory dues, FX and unbilled compliance work are stacked on, and those are the numbers we publish.
How fast hiring works
Your first hire is live in five working days under a contractual SLA. Registering your own Indian private limited company takes three or four months once name approval, MCA filing, PAN, TAN, PF and ESI codes, a bank account and a payroll vendor are done. Ours already exists.
If you need the person found as well as employed, recruitment adds around nine days to a shortlist.
Support
Every account gets a named compliance manager on day one. Email replies come in four to six hours during Indian business hours, from the same payroll specialists who run your filings. Your team and your employees sit in the same time zone as the people handling their PF and their payslips.
Recruitment and EOR from the same vendor
Most India EOR providers employ the person you already found. We also source. Candidates are screened against how your team actually works rather than only against the job description, and the recruitment side carries a replacement guarantee. Running both through one vendor gives you a single contract and a single point of accountability, from the first interview through to the employee's third year.
How Versatile Club compares
Global platforms such as Deel, Remote, Multiplier and Oyster list 100 or more countries. In most of them, India included, employment sits with a local in-country partner. You are buying breadth. If India is the part of your team that matters, that partner layer is where the delay and the ambiguity live. We went narrow on purpose: one country, one entity, our own filings under our own registrations.
Against India-focused providers such as Wisemonk and Skuad the price band is similar, so the comparison comes down to proof. We publish six registration certificates openly, covering CIN, GSTIN, ESI code, Udyam, TAN and PAN, and we write indemnity into the MSA rather than leaving compliance liability implied.
One limitation worth saying plainly. India is all we do. If you are hiring in two or more countries, you will need a second provider for the rest.
Frequently asked questions
How do I hire engineers in India without setting up an entity?
You use an Employer of Record. The EOR's Indian company becomes the legal employer of your hire, runs INR payroll and files the statutory contributions, while your team directs the day-to-day work. With Versatile Club that Indian company is Foo Falcon Technologies Private Limited, which we own. Your first hire is live in five working days.
What does an Employer of Record in India cost?
Versatile Club charges $149 per employee per month, falling to $129 above twenty employees, with no setup fee and no exit fee. India EOR service fees across the market run roughly $99 to $399 per employee per month. On top of the service fee you pay gross salary and employer statutory contributions. For India that means Provident Fund at 12 percent of basic plus DA, ESI at 3.25 percent for wages up to Rs 21,000, gratuity accrual at 4.81 percent, and state professional tax. We bill all of those at actuals.
How fast can I hire in India through an EOR?
Five working days from signed contract to a live employee, under SLA. Setting up your own Indian entity to do the same job takes three or four months.
EOR or my own India entity?
An entity makes sense once your India headcount is large enough that its fixed cost, meaning a payroll vendor, a compliance retainer, statutory audits and a director on record, comes in under the per-employee fee. Below roughly fifteen to twenty people that maths rarely works. Above it, it starts to. We will tell you when you have crossed the line, and we run the transition instead of blocking it.
Can I pay Indian employees directly from my US company instead?
You can pay a contractor directly. A full-time person who works your hours, uses your systems and reports to your manager is an employee under Indian law whatever the contract calls them. The usual consequences are misclassification exposure under the Code on Wages, unpaid PF and gratuity, and permanent establishment risk. An EOR removes all three.
What is the difference between EOR and Contractor of Record in India?
Contractor of Record treats your hire as a B2B contractor. EOR treats them as a full-time employee with PF, ESIC, gratuity and Form 16. CoR fits engagements under six months and genuine specialists. EOR is the right structure for a full-time, long-term hire. We offer both, and we will say which one your situation calls for.
Do you only work with US and UK companies?
No. Your company can be incorporated in any country. India is the side we handle, and the employment, payroll and filings are identical no matter where your headquarters sits. Invoicing is in USD or GBP from our Indian entity. Ask if you need another currency.
Is the documentation audit-ready?
Yes. Payroll registers, challans, filing acknowledgements and employment contracts are available on request, in the format your auditor or an acquirer's diligence team will ask for. Our own registrations are published rather than described.
Which cities do you hire in?
Anywhere in India. Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Delhi NCR and Mumbai are the most common, and remote hires in smaller cities are routine. Professional tax and shops and establishments rules vary by state, so we handle those per employee instead of applying one national template.
How do I switch from Deel, Remote or another global EOR to an India specialist?
Your employees transfer to our entity on new Indian employment contracts, with continuity of service, accrued leave and gratuity carried across so nobody loses anything in the move. We run the transfer in parallel with your existing provider's notice period, usually thirty days, so payroll never gaps. In most switches we see, India was the slowest part of a global platform while the rest of it worked fine.
Are there hidden fees or an FX markup?
No. The service fee is $149 per employee per month. Salary and employer statutory contributions are passed through at actuals. We take no spread on the currency conversion, and we do not charge for onboarding, offboarding, contract amendments or compliance filings, because those are the service.
Which EOR is best for a startup making its first India hire?
Depends what you are optimising for. If you need twenty countries under one dashboard, use a global platform. If India is the hire that matters and you want the people running your PF filings to be the people who answer your email, that is the case for an India-native provider, and it is the case we make. Read the reviews on this page and speak to a reference before you decide. Ask us and we will give you one.
How do I get a quote?
Tell us the role, the salary band and the start date. You get a per-employee number and a start date back, usually inside four working hours.
