**What do you like best about Versatile?**

Honestly I came in skeptical. We're a small team at Moonshot and we needed to bring someone on in India, and every option I looked at first was either "set up your own entity" (no thanks, not for one hire) or some platform that quotes you a great price and then you find out about all the add-ons later.

Versatile was the one that actually made it simple. They acted as the Employer of Record in India so we didn't have to register anything ourselves — they were the legal employer on paper, we just managed the person day to day. The onboarding was the part that surprised me most: compliant contract drafted for us, the offer out the same week, and our hire was set up properly before I'd even fully wrapped my head around how India payroll works. First payroll ran on time, no scramble, no "wait what's this deduction."

The compliance side is the real reason I'd recommend them though. PF, tax, the statutory filings — all the stuff I genuinely did not want to learn — they just handle it and keep it correct every month. As a founder that's exactly what I want: I don't want to become a part-time India HR person, I want the person hired and paid and legal, and then I want to forget about the back office. That's what we got.

**What do you dislike about Versatile?**

The dashboard could be a little more self-serve — a couple of times I wanted to pull a report or a doc myself and ended up just messaging my contact instead. They always answered fast, so it wasn't a real problem, but I'd love to click around and find things on my own. Small thing.

**What problems is Versatile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It let Moonshot hire in India without standing up an entity, which would've been overkill for our size. They took payroll, contracts, and ongoing compliance off our plate entirely, so we got the talent we wanted without the legal and admin overhead. If you're a founder trying to figure out India EOR and you don't want it to become a second job, this is the one I'd point you to.

**What do you like best about Versatile?**

As a founder at a digital marketing agency, I needed to hire and manage a small India-based team without setting up a local entity. Versatile's Employer of Record India service made this seamless contracts, PF, ESI, TDS, and payroll all handled in one place. Invoicing in USD meant zero exchange rate surprises. The compliance rigour is genuinely impressive every statutory filing reviewed before submission. Five-day onboarding, zero late payslips. This is what India EOR should look like.

Nothing as of now, Minor friction for an otherwise solid product.

As a founder running a lean agency, hiring talent in India without a local entity was a compliance minefield PF, ESI, TDS, professional tax across states. **What do you like best about Versatile?**

Versatile consistently delivered work that was both strategically sharp and execution-ready. During my time at Swiggy, they had a strong grasp of brand nuance and turned briefs into campaigns that actually resonated — fast, without too many rounds of back and forth. The quality-to-turnaround ratio was genuinely impressive.

**What do you dislike about Versatile?**

Honestly, not much to fault. On rare occasions the earliest concepts needed a nudge to feel fully tailored to the brief, but they always course-corrected quickly. If anything, tighter feedback loops during busy cycles would make the process even smoother.

**What problems is Versatile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Versatile quickly grasps what the brand actually needs — without lengthy briefing cycles. That speed of understanding translates directly into faster turnarounds and campaigns that feel on-brand from the start, saving a lot of back-and-forth time on our end.

**What do you like best about Versatile?**

We’ve been using Versatile Club for our international hires, and honestly, it’s been super smooth. Setting up in a new country can get messy fast, but their India EOR made onboarding feel easy. The team’s responsive, clear, and great to work with, makes scaling a remote team way less stressful.

**What do you dislike about Versatile?**

The team is really competent, but there were a few time zone misunderstandings that caused slight delays in the initial phase. That said, once things got going, the whole process was buttery smooth.

Versatile is solving the pain of complicated international hiring and local compliance, which saves us a lot of operational stress. For us, that means faster onboarding, fewer legal headaches, and a much smoother way to scale the remote team across borders.

**What do you like best about Versatile?**

We used Versatile to hire our first employee in India after months of putting it off because the compliance side seemed like a mess. 

Sagar replied to our form in about four hours with a draft offer letter already attached. The hire was onboarded in four days.

First USD invoice landed clean: no FX markup, no setup fee, no surprises.
What I didn't expect was how good the ongoing support would be. Every payroll or PF question gets a real answer from a real person, usually same day. If you need to hire in India and want an India EOR that actually responds to emails, this is the one. We're already lining up our second hire through them.

**What do you dislike about Versatile?**

Nothing that would make me consider switching. The compliance work and payroll accuracy are what I pay for, and those are rock solid. These are polish items.

**What problems is Versatile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The core problem was simple: we needed to hire engineers in India but had zero legal entity there, zero understanding of Indian employment law, and zero bandwidth to figure it out ourselves. We looked at setting up a subsidiary and quickly realized it would take 6+ months, cost tens of thousands in legal and registration fees, and require ongoing compliance work we had no expertise in. That path just didn't make sense for a startup with a small distributed team.
Versatile solved that completely.
