"RapidFire Review"
What do you like best about VulScan?

RapidFire Tools stands out for its ability to streamline complex IT assessments and audits. The automated data collection and reporting features enable us to produce comprehensive, client-ready documentation with very little manual work. I particularly value how seamlessly it fits into MSP workflows, whether we are pinpointing security vulnerabilities, creating compliance reports, or assisting with onboarding tasks. The platform’s user-friendly interface, flexible templates, and practical insights make it an invaluable resource for both technical staff and those working directly with clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VulScan?

While RapidFire Tools is undoubtedly a powerful platform, there are certain aspects that could benefit from improvement. The user interface, although functional, sometimes appears outdated and can be unintuitive, particularly for newcomers who are trying to navigate complex reports or settings. Furthermore, customization options for branding or report formatting are somewhat restricted unless manual workarounds are used. Performance may also experience slight slowdowns when handling large datasets or conducting multiple scans at once. Nevertheless, these concerns are relatively minor when weighed against the overall value the tool delivers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined vulnerability scanning made simple"
What do you like best about VulScan?

It offers a thorough scanning for a wide range of vulnerabilities, making it an excellent tool for identifying potential security issues. With a simple user friednly interace, makes it simple to use for beginners (like for our helpdesk techs) and experienced users. The reporting features provides really in-depth actionable reports that gives us detailed information that not only explains the vulnerability, but helps us to share the justification for the billable time it would take to correct the vulnerability. I haven't had to use customer support very often but when we have, it's been pretty good with timely and educated responses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VulScan?

Probably the least disliked part is false postives, which is common in all scanners. False positives lead to wasted time with unneed investigations. With time we can reduce the noise of false postives by tweaking Vulscan, but it's still something that I wish it would improve on (which I imagine they actively are doing). Other than that, the cost is sometimes harder for our much smaller customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Well, you can say you have vulnerability management at least?"
What do you like best about VulScan?

Easy to deploy and implement, local agent deploy is easy. It's cheap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VulScan?

Scans and local agent miss many vulnerabilities. Local agent only reports on windows patches missing, doesn't work on Mac or Linux. More conscious clients knew about some vulnerabilities before we did. Scanners are slow and unreliable. Reporting does not cut mustard for more mature security depts (can't assign SLO, no report on Vul age). Support is non-existent if anything is needed about Tier 1. Ticket generation frequently doubles or triples up with no fix from support. We lasted 1.5 years and ended up moving to Qualys. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid scanner product but lacks compared to other products on the market"
What do you like best about VulScan?

Easy to setup.

Good integrations into other Kaseya products.

Low cost compared to other products.

Customer support is quick to respond when dealing with basic issues.

Semi regular features updates bringing in extra functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VulScan?

Over complicated interface at times which results in some things being buried in menus which aren't natural.

Lack of agents means that it doesn't scan devices correctly which greatly reduces the number of detections compared to other competitors that use agents.

Support quick to bury heads when you raise any complicated issues which then turns into a war of attrition to actually get support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A lazy upgrade to OpenVAS"
What do you like best about VulScan?

Vulscan is a scalable and reasonably priced solution for entry to the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VulScan?

Vulscan is OpenVAS reskinned. They have foregone common practices such as CVSS scores and overhauled it with their own risk ratings that are rarely accurate and frequently overstating risk. Very often they will overstate the risk rating or will include vulnerabilities for something that is not actually a vulnerability (ie a website has a vulnerability if x y or z are used in code and they are not but will be included in the vulnerability anyway). The biggest issue is the vulnerabilities do not auto resolve and you have to manually mark vulnerabilities as accepted, mitigated or a false positive. In reports there are sections for resolved vulnerabilities that the data does not feed to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Okay product, terrible company"
What do you like best about VulScan?

It's cheap and does the job. It can do recurring reporting that are sent directly to your clients every month. Has good forms for audits and works generally well Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VulScan?

Reports are old looking and customization is minimal, but the real big problem is Kaseya which owns RFT. It has to be the worst company to deal with and I'm including At&t and Bell Canada. You sign for one price and get billed about 4 times that amount, when you speak to someone they say they are going to call you back which they never do. And then after you paid, you find out that things they promised to you are not actually working now but are "coming soon". Some features where coming soon for the last year and a half but when they sold it to us, it was supposed to already be ready. I could go on and on and on but the jist of it: the product works for the price but don't ever consider it for as long as kaseya is in the mix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid vulnerability scanner with some drawbacks"
What do you like best about VulScan?

VulScan is easy to deploy and requires no troubleshooting. The integration into existing solutions of Kaseya like AutoTask works flawlessly. Configuring the vulnerability scans is also very easy and straight-forward.

The generated reports are well received by our customers.

The overall customer support is good. The support responds quickly and generally seems knowledgeable. The product owner of VulScan gives partners the opportunity to schedule a call with him at any time and is ready to listen to constructive feedback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VulScan?

The management of vulnerabilities and keeping track of them is quite tedious and you very quickly lose track of the status of individual vulnerabilities. Vulnerabilities that are not detected for multiple scans are not automatically resolved. This has to be done manually.

The performance of the portal is very poor and loading the list of vulnerabilities of a large company with a long history of vulnerability scans takes forever.

The product owner has confirmed that they are actively working on addressing these issues.

It should be noted that VulScan only relies on the Community Feed of GreenBone which offers limited visibility compared to the Enterprise Feed or other solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Much better than other software I have used"
What do you like best about VulScan?

VulScan nails that sweet spot between power and usability. The interface is intuitive enough for quick deployment, but it doesn’t sacrifice depth. I can customize scans, filter results, and automate ticketing without jumping through hoops or scripting workarounds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VulScan?

The UI feels dated and lacks modern UX finesse. Managing multiple clients or sites can get messy—there’s no folder structure or color-coding to help differentiate environments. And we have to enter data multiple times for the same issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Set it and forget it.

the automation piece is fantastic.

Integration with other products works very well.

i frequently use it when implementing new customers.

Customer support will always answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VulScan?

The need for a seperate PC or VM is the only downside.

Other than that its great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the best Vulnerability Scanners that I have ever used"
What do you like best about VulScan?

I love the interface for VulScan, it is simple, clean and easy to read. I have used others through ConnectWise and absolutely hated how they only check for a vulnerability based off of the kb update on the machine, and they do not remove false positives once they see that the new update has resolved the issue. VulScan gives more "positive" results out of any solution that I have previously used, as well as being able to be integrated with our full Datto stack makes this solution a win/win for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VulScan?

It can take it a few minutes to load pages, would like to see this speed increased Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
