## About VulScan
Automated Vulnerability Scanning. Affordably Priced For Everyone! With almost 70 new hidden vulnerabilities identified every day, you would need to be a super hero with X-ray vision to find them all. Or, you can let VulScan do it for you. VulScan is purpose-built for MSPs and for IT Departments that handle their own IT security. It has all the features you need for both internal and external vulnerability management, but without all the complexity found in older solutions. Best of all, VulScan is priced so that cost is no longer a barrier to scanning as many assets as you need, as frequently as you want. That’s why our slogan is “Vulnerability Management For The Rest of Us! VulScan is an affordable cloud-based vulnerability management platform. It includes the software needed to spin up an unlimited number of virtual network scanner appliances using Hyper-V or VMWare, and a cloud-based portal to control the scanners and manage the discovered issues. For internal network scanning, the appliances can be installed on any existing computer that has excess capacity on the network, or installed on a dedicated box to be permanently installed. You can add multiple scanners and configure them each to scan separate parts of the network to get even faster results pushed into the same client site dashboard at no additional cost. For external scanning, the appliances are installed on the MSP’s data center or other remote location and “pointed” to the public facing IP addresses of the target network.

## VulScan Reviews
 ### 1. Good program so far

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris C. | Senior Systems Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

VulScan does a good job scanning environments to find any "hidden" vulnerabilities. It is pretty easy to deploy and the reports are great.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

It's hard to sell because of the price point for a smaller MSP

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far it hasn't helped with much because it is a hard sell for a smaller MSP. I can say that it does its job very well though.

 ### 2. Vulscan Solution for Vulnerability Scanner

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary Joy U. | IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Checking for viruses and cyberattacks has never been easier with the use of this solution. With this we can check for the vulnerabilities within our network

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

So far, I don't have any dislikes yet about the solution.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its a good way to strengthen the security of our organization.

 ### 3. Product does as expected but you mush self host or pay additional for an external scanner.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly Speers, Author and I. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

We like that it works with Vonahi for reporting and is a good product

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The fact that they make you host your own scanner and can't do installs of the procuts on your own machines you have to use their VM builds.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We perform quarterly scans for clients and this helps us see what could be exploited and should be looked into right away.

 ### 4. Vulscan Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johnny P. | Help Desk Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Integration with Kesaya, scan results are clean and organized. Implementation is easy and straight forward. Customer support is helpful and responsive.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The general interface can be overwhelming at first, but it's pretty easy to get used to and navigate around.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping us find critical vulnerabilities for missing patches, along with security settings that should be changed to follow best practices.

 ### 5. The Vulscan process is clear and logical. Results are quick and easy to read/process.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2025

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Repeatability. Config once, run many. Simplicity.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Cost. But saying that, if it were free, it wouldn't do what is does.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vulnerability detection and reporting.

 ### 6. Overall a great product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick R. | IT Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

I love the fact that it integrates easily with other Kaseya tools like Rocket Cyber

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

My biggest gripe is the limit on the flexibility when it comes to scheduling scans. For example, I cannot schedule a scan for the first Monday of every month.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping bring issues to our attention that we would otherwise be unaware of

 ### 7. Easy to use, comprehensive reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Very intuitive and reports are easy to read and full of useful information

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

There are no downsides that I can think of

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Picking up on vulnerabilities

 ### 8. Finds vulnerabilities but is limited

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

VulScan does exactly what it says it does - finds vulnerabilities. However, unlike other products I have used, it does not allow for rescanning and removing those vulnerabilities on demand. You have to wait for a full month for resolved vulnerabilities to fall off of your list. I have used a competitor product and can scan individual machines to verify the vulnerability is removed.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The thing I dislike the most is the reporting. There is no way for me to see what vulnerabilities have been remediated on demand.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does identify the vulneraibilities but does not let me see that they have been remediated without manually marking each one. An ideal vulnerability scanner lets me rescan to make sure the vulnerability is no longer present.

 ### 9. Great vulnerability scanning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

As an IT professional, this is one of the best vulnerability scanning platforms available, there are many features, and the ease of use is good. Support is also good they help instantly. We use this monthly with all our customers to identify any weak points.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Nothing, to be honest, they can uplift the UI a little. Implementation can be easier. Integration can be better

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It idenitifies any risks and helps us remiteate it

 ### 10. Easy to use, useful information

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Easy setup/scheduling of scans to run. Reviewing the issues is also fairly easy.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The visual interface could be a bit better, I find the review of active issues to be somewhat dated. I would like to see a grouping option to sort it out by OS patches, security updates missing, 3rd party applications, etc.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMMC compliance.

 ### 11. Great product for replacing a standalone OpenVAS solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

The software is really easy to use. I've installed OpenVAS Community and implementing this product is very difficult starting from the git repo. With VulScan, you deploy an OVA and everything is straightforward!

Their customer support is good and fast.

The pricing is far cheaper than other alternative and customer can also have their own management page.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

No french report or custom for now. It depends on Internet connection to have the scan result.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Need to have a fast and easy way to deploy and scan new network.

 ### 12. Simple and effective

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Simple yet effective interface. I like the different scanning methods for a comprehensive scan.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

To get the most usage from itl, you also need Compliance Manager so it create the complience reports for you for upper management.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to tick the Vul Scan box for Essential 8 compliance.

 ### 13. Best vulnerability scanner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danial L. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

The ease of use and comprehensive reporting. Integration into documentation systems and pentesting system

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Could use more integrations for even more management options and compliance

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use vulscan to keep up on compliance issues and close vulnerabilities on a regular basis keeping our managed sites secure and compliant

 ### 14. Easy to use product

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Vulscan is easy to deploy and use. Setting up continuous scanning is simple and takes little time to deploy.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Scan results are only retained for 90 days.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a solution that does automated, continuous vulnerability scanning. VulScan accomplished this and has a good cost factor.

 ### 15. Easy to use, and an excellent platform for MSps to sell Vulnerability Scanning as a Service.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liam O. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Comprehensive reporting, easy to configure and use, with minimal labour input required for deployment and management, making it easy to scale.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Requires an appliance to run, but this is fairly typical of such platforms.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us provide our clients a complete Security as a Service solution.

 ### 16. Vulscan is amazing product helps identify assets on our network and determine their vulnerability.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | IT Support Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

I love the ability to determine the vulnerability of a potential machine and its potential threats.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Kind of over interface but all I all great

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identify threats on employers networks

 ### 17. Love that it is helping our clients understand where their vulnerabilities are.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Gives an edge to create better solutions for our clients needs.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Still feel like I am setting it up at times.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gives our clients an idea of what they need and how we can help them achieve their security goals.

 ### 18. VulScan - Inexpensive way to scan for vulnerabilities

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Cost is a big factor with many of these security products; this solution provides a reasonable way to run frequent vulnerabilty scanning. We've found the platform to be very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

I think the biggest thing VulScan is missing is a better way to manage "permantely accepted risk" vs temporarily accepted risk. I would also like a notes field on these items so I can say why I accepted the risk, or temporarily excluded it from a scan so in x months, I know what to look for and why I excluded it.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing us to run frequent vulnerability scans. Most clients just assume we know about all of them and we all know that isn't possible without a 3rd party product like VulScan actually looking at the network

**Official Response from Bonnie Goldberg:**

> Thank you for your feedback. We will share it with the product development team to see if they can address this in their roadmap.

 ### 19. Efficient and UX friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

The best qualities are the UI and the speed of the process.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The pricing is not necessarily very competitive .

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VulScan addresses our critical gap of identifying and managing vulnerabilities for our customer infrastructures. By automating the detection of both internal and external vulnerabilities, it helps organizations proactively mitigate risks before they can be exploited.

 ### 20. Great product!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Easy to use, easy to schedule scans, results are easy to read and the mitigation steps are very helpful.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Only issue I disliked was you had to setup an external scan yourself. They just added the hosted external scan which I will be reaching out to my account rep to get setup!

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us detect and respond to vulnerabilities.

**Official Response from Bonnie Goldberg:**

> Thank you for your review. I hope that you were able to reach your account manager to add the hosted external scan.

 ### 21. VulScan's great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

VulScan's an easy tool to use to run vulnerability scan's on your own.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Some of the terminology can be confusing but it is explained fairly well.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VulScan assists with getting our networks ready for PCI Compliance.

 ### 22. Powerful Vulnerability Scanning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

It is extremely thorough in detecting issues either hardware or software based and giving resolution advice. And now with externally hosted scanning, it's an excellent tool back and front.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The dashboard could use an update - and external and internal scans could be more unified.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are finding weaknesses for all of our clients. It helps with support and sales.

**Official Response from Bonnie Goldberg:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback on VulScan! We're thrilled to hear that you find the tool thorough and beneficial for your clients. We appreciate your suggestion for an updated dashboard and more unified scans, and we'll definitely take that into consideration for future improvements.

 ### 23. VulScan - just enough to be compliant

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Vulscan is quick to set up.
Vulscan is improving its detection mechanisms frequently.
Vulscan allows multi-tenancy to provide division for multiple customers in one interface. Allowing users access to Vulscan is also extremely easy. Separating external and internal scanners makes scheduling and scheming vulnerability scans easy.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Reporting is dubious at best. There is no easy way to review vulnerabilities. This same reporting limitation prevents creating exceptions for devices more difficult than it should be.

Installing the detection agent for individual Windows devices requires manual intervention, and there are no apparent silent installation options or any documentation for silent installation for mass deployment.

When compared to other products, Vulscan misses significant details in installed application vulnerabilities.

Remediation steps are often very generic and include no real actions to take.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vulscan helps us create a multi-tenant vulnerability management program contained within a single pane of glass. Vulscan allows us to provide access to the console directly to clients which decreases our direct involvement with deployment and scheduling of scans by allowing our co-managed clients to directly control their own scanners.

 ### 24. Well worth the price for valuable insight

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

The best thing about Vulscan is how the findings are represented to you. It'd be one thing if it just said "there's a vulnerability with X and here's the relevant CVE and the CVSS Score," but Vulscan goes well beyond that. It explains why this is a vulnerability, when it was found and how best to remediate. It gives you all the tools you need to make informed decisions on the cybersecurity posture of a client's (or your own) network. Worth the money

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Vulscan can be a bit tricky to install because it requires you to install on a hypervisor. It took us several days to install it correctly the first time but once we got the hang of it, it turned out to be OK. I would much rather have an ISO file that we boot a VM to and then install the OS that way but that's my 2 cents.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best help it provides is helping us to keep with with all of the CVE's that we as an MSP need to be on top of. If we aren't proactively protecting against new threats, we aren't doing our jobs.

 ### 25. VulScan Review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

It is integrated into the Rapidfire Portal and for what it does, it is fairly inexpensive.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

2 things.

1) you can not pull multi-site reports of all sites in your tenant. It would be nice to be able to get a global view so that we can tell what vulnerabilities are affecting all sites, or enough sites to make an automated solution feasible.

2) The remediation direction is very generic.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Insite into the client environment.

**Official Response from Bonnie Goldberg:**

> Thank you for your feedback. We will share it with our product development team.

 ### 26. Top of the line Vulnerability Scanner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Easy to use/setup with helpful support when the knowledgebase articles don't exactly get the issue resolved. Easy to automate when/how to run.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Remote site Vulnerability scanning when clients don't have a server or computer capible of running as a hypervisor.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VulScan is vital to our vulnerability management program for us and our clients. The ease of use and integrations with what we already have for ticketing/rmm makes it easy to resolve vulnerabilities that are found in the networks that we manage/takeover.

 ### 27. VulScan review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nayan M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

I liked its security finding technologie that make our organization secure. Also, it is very easy to use. It provide some flexibility to us in terms of vulnerability detection and exploitation.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

VulScan, can sometimes generate false positive results for us. That means we are reporting those vulnerabilities that do not actually exist, So that will waste our time.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VulScan helps us to identify vulnerabilities in applications. It scans for vulnerabilities and provides us a comprehensive list of potential security weaknesses. From these vulnerabilities, VulScan enables our organizations to understand security posture and take appropriate actions to address the threads.

 ### 28. System Administrator

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Khedir Q. | System Admininstrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

I like that it first integrates with Network Detective Pro when generating network vulnerability and security reports, and second, it can be installed on any domain-joined machine using hyper-v. Even though the instructions sometimes seem misleading, with help from support, I could set it up and get it going.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Not sure if I can tell you what to dislike about the VulScan, I think its a good product and does a lot but like I mentioned, I need some fine tunning and help from support to set the product up. Not easy for first-timers

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it solves many problems, most importantly for us is the network vulnerability scan that we use to generate reports for our customers

 ### 29. Gets better all the time!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Love that VulScan doesn't charge by IP's scanned, #1. The fact you can easily do a portable scanner - huge for us for our discovery process. Easier to use than the big name products.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Downside for us is the bulk pricing. Would be nice to be able to buy in smaller chunks to get ramped up to a higher client count. Reporting could be a little stronger, but seems to be getting better. I like more "raw" or "sortable" data, that I can clean up before discussing with a client.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility into client devices that have manufacturer or programming vulnerabilities. We want to stay AHEAD of these threats, vs reacting to the next huge 0-day.

 ### 30. Very thorough!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Love not only the depth of the information provided but the remediation and helpful non-techie descriptions help continue to sell the need for the changes up the chain of command

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The installation can be very difficult, at times the documentation likes behind reality. However, the helpdesk is very supportive of issues and can help point you in the right direction, but it is still more of a self discovery

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VulScan is helping us see in a much easier way the things that are impacting the security of both internal and external networks, and it is helping us provide that same level of protection and information to our clients as well

 ### 31. VulScan the tool you need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felix C. | Company Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

The details the scans provide give you what you need to fix the solution. You can also mark known issues as accepted or, on a rare occasion, a false positive can be drawn not to appear again.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Honestly, I don't think there is anything I don't like with Vulcan. It provides me with everything I need. If I had to choice something, a more detailed log would be ideal.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps discover the vulnerabilities with out having to use a 3rd party auditor to discover them for you. Also, I have found that VulScan finds more than 3rd party auditors do.

 ### 32. Very useful tool for discovering internal vulnerabilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anderson B. | SOC Analyst, Security and Investigations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Understand risks in the environment and use the information to remediate vulnerabilities. The interface is nice and shows the results clearly on your dashboard.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

I believe it would be better if the Discovery Agents for devices that are not on the network (endpoints and servers), sent their logs/vulnerabilities to the internal or external Scanner, along with those already collected by it.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fix previously unseen issues, from low to high vulnerabilities. Understanding of possible points of improvement in the technological environment. Increasing business performance and continuous improvement process.

 ### 33. Pentester Feedback of VulScan

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

I'm using VulScan as one of the tools in my Pentest "kit".
Adding the granular detail VulScan provides, has increased our clients' satisfaction during the active phase of our pentests. Providing them Technician-level access once we wrap up the active phase provides them the ability to check down the vulnerabilities allowing them to confirm/deny/mitigate the findings, etc.

I'm liking it a lot and the clients seem to as well, once I get them over the initial scare of the high-volume of hits in their environment.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Scanning is painfully slow, even when dropping the IVS on a dedicated machine with significant horsepower... it may take 3-6 hours for just a couple of /24's, and often seems to hang on the last IP in the range, at 99%, for several hours. Painful to watch!

It seems there are consistent false positives that I've learned and see every time... such as "Trojans"... just because a few ports associated with common products are present. I think a single criteria shouldn't trigger an event... but needs to corroborate with another in order to be considered "intelligence" v. "information".

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using it as part of my Pentesting offering, and don't simply perform independent vulnerability scanning. VulScan is helping to provide confirmation of similar finding that I'll fetch through other means throughout an engagement.
It's helping validate the findings and gives the client a bit of immediate control of their destiny in the remediation process.

 ### 34. Excellent Product for vulnerability scanning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darren M. | Cyber Network Security Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Easy process to conduct the scans and an automated reporting process.
Reports are professional and ready to present to the client.
Detect out of date applications.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Application detection is improving and additions to include third party applications will be released soon.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a tool we can deploy in any situation to provide our engineers with a level of visibility that was previously not possible.

 ### 35. Not a bad management tool.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

I like that you can schedule scans and automate ticketing. It is helpful for MSPs that you can use more than one scanner. Most vulnerability scanning tools only allow you to use once scanner at a time.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

It could be more consistent on vulnerability management. Sometimes the ticket numbers disappear before the actual ticket is closed. A single-pane view of active and previous tickets would be helpful.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The scanning, once it is set up, has been effortless. I like that you can automate scans or run them as ad-hoc. It allows me to check whether vulnerabilities have been mitigated between automated scans.

 ### 36. Excellent product and great value

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danny A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

The vulnerability features are very helpful in configuring reports exactly how you need them. I really like the ability to scan internally and externally. I also prefer the web-based reporting features.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The scans consume a lot of resources and time to complete. It has to be ran as a VM, which can be troublesome for smaller clients with no virtual environment. Would be nice to be see a desktop version become available.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VulScan is a wonderful tool in resolving compliancy issues and security vulnerabilities. It is a great asset for an MSP and offers many uses for our clients.

 ### 37. Vulscan Product Review after 6 months of use.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill V. | Customer Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

I've been using VulScan for network vulnerability management for several months now, and I'm extremely impressed with its capabilities. The software is easy to use, and the interface is intuitive and user-friendly. I appreciate the automation and false-positive management tools , which have significantly reduced the number of false positives that I encounter. The scheduling feature is also a key benefit, allowing me to automate scans and ensure the network is continuously monitored for vulnerabilities.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The ability easly generate reports that flow into my QBR tool.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an MSP we use this tool to support our clients that require Compliance support.

 ### 38. It makes a lot of work an easy in effort, with this tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David N. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Vulscan is a great tool, and its the ability to provide valid and easy-to-understand product reports.
We have gained time and lessened our frustration with other programs to identify the most critical variable of our clients. The integration that it gives us has allowed us to automate our scanning and reporting.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Hoping that in the future, we are adding more third-party applications

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reporting is our favorite part of the service.
The ease and understanding of the reporting makes it easy to apply and mitigate the issues for our customers

 ### 39. Easy to use and excellent customer service!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bonnie V. | Project Manager & Content Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

The customization of this software is what my team liked best. VulScan allows us to schedule network scanning based on our frequency. We also like the option that allows our admins to automatically create tickets for problems/concerns that arise which works to overall streamline our processes. Overall, the software really works to help facilitate our day-to-day system issues and alerts.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

I will say the the price was the main thing we were hesitant on this software from the longest time. It's not the highest price in the market, but it's not the lowest. But I do think the positive outcome this software has provided our company has made up for the price. Along with their customer service - they are always a call, message, email, click away.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vulscan allows us to schedule out network scans which is customized to my company's frequency. We like how this system allows us to create tickets automatically when issues arise. With these processes in place we are able to streamline the work we do and be proactive instead of reactive.

 ### 40. A great additional layer for that next step in security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen L. | Sr. Technical Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

It provides a great level of insight into areas of risk not usually checked, or at the very least, not easily checked on scale.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The main downside of VulScan is that it requires a significant amount of resources to run and can take a long time to complete a scan, especially on large networks. Additionally, VulScan may generate a large number of false positive results, which can make it difficult to determine which vulnerabilities are actually present in a system. Another downside is that the tool does not provide a way to automatically fix the vulnerabilities it finds, it just reports them. This means that an administrator must manually patch or otherwise remediate each vulnerability.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides additional information of vulnerabilities in an environment that helps demonstrate to clients (potential) the need for multi-levels of security. It shows areas that need to be addressed but also is an aid to present other security tools and measures.

 ### 41. Easy to use and good visualization gain in the environment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Easy installation and we get a good view of the environment, where we have an overview for anyone registered on the platform, a positive point compared to other tools that store vulnerabilities locally.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

The same internal Scan could be the external one to perform the vulnerability scan

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

First of all, it's really nice to have RocketCyber integration for better administration. We currently use it to carry out vulnerability scans on a number of client machines to make sure there are fewer vulnerabilities every day.

 ### 42. Vulscan Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Utilizing the different scan behaviors you want to run i.e. (comprehensive, standard etc) and running credentialed scans. I enjoy the various edit features you can select when generating reports.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

What I dislike about Vulcan is its report-by-scan setup.
It's a little tricky at times to organize reports based on network segmentation,

Not allowing users to toggle whether brute force login-ins can be set off during a standard or comprehensive scan.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running vulnerability scans on clients networks as well as internally.
Allows visibility into agents and servers who maybe outdated or non responsive.

 ### 43. Best Vulnerability scanner with Hyperv

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bala K. | Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Vulscan is open source and similar to nmap but with vulnerability features so i can make my reports with cve score with little false positives and productivity comes along with it.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

An threat landscape is little tricky to understand and SLA's were difficult to map and further vulnerability patches are little difficult to remediate quickly.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

After vulnerabity scanning and finding the bugs which may require immediate patches were inevitable with defined reports.
Furthermore with complete patches with cve score illustrates more brighter picture.

**Official Response from Bonnie Goldberg:**

> Thank you for your feedback. We will share it with our product development team.

 ### 44. VulScan Review

Ability to report monthly, quickly and easily

 ### 46. VulScan is amazing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sheila K. | Marketing Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

VulScan has simplified our process for scanning interally and externally, all while giving us the flexibility and scalability our growing organization needs. As an MSP, our customers so far have enjoyed the streamlined benefits.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

There aren't any visable downsides from what we have been able to see since we started using, though improvements and bug fixes can always be made. Improvements to the dashboards would be favorable but we know these will be completed down the line.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business is constantly growing, and as an MSP with 500+ employees, and over 5000 customers, its imperitive for us to always be operating. If it finds an issue, it creates tickets and allows us to operate at maximum efficiency, acting as if its another set of hands for our team and customers.

 ### 47. Simple, inexpensive vulnerability management platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ray M. | VP, Information Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

Multi-tenant console is great for managed security service providers.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

Vulnerability scans can sometimes produce false positives, but they can be checked off to be ignored in future reports.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vulnerability management for all clients with robust monthly reporting feature.

 ### 48. good product for vulnerability scans

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Duncan O. | Security Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

it has a good UI and it is easy to use for running the vulnerability scans. the reports are great to use in making a business case. it is a better than other products.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

it only works as a virtual machine so it does not help small clients with no hypervisors. this can be addressed by making an installer to use directly for workstations.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vulscan helps understand the weaknesses in IT infrastructure and helps with compliance and security. productivity and business compliance has increased and less work for administrators.

 ### 49. Great Scanner

Being able to scan internal and external

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

can take a while to scan and can be network taxiing

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vulnerability scanning for NIST

 ### 50. Simplified Security

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about VulScan?**

The automated checks that show our network security, including changes since the last scan are handy in showing our customers how "on top of" their network security we are.

**What do you dislike about VulScan?**

I wouldn't say I like how VulScan is required to run in a linuxVM; a windows executable should allow you to run this service from a Windows server. Makes things too fragmented in my humble opinion.

**What problems is VulScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vulscan allows us to have empirical data to show the customer when we give quarterly reports of data security. The included reports within Vulscan makes the customer very happy.
