As a finance resource, I use Unanet ERP daily.

Unanet’s project tracking is the biggest win for me. The transaction flow from estimate to invoice is easy to follow, and because there’s no manual transfer of data, it’s clear to read and understand while also saving a lot of time.

Timesheet filing through mobile is another advantage. People can submit from their phones wherever they are, which translates into more timely invoicing.

Unanet support has also been consistently helpful. They respond in a timely manner and stay engaged until the issue is resolved.

We also have several complicated billing setups across different clients, and Unanet handles them without requiring workarounds. The Unanet AE interface feels a bit outdated overall. Some functions are slower than they should be like switching out of reports or moving between modules can take longer than expected at times. I love that Unanet AE ERP is a single source of information for our projects. It builds trust in the information and allows our project managers to review their projects at their convenience. This feature has also reduced the labor hours required to manage project financials. Additionally, I appreciate the flexible accounting controls and the more detailed project management features it offers. Analytic dashboard building could be more user-friendly. It can be difficult to understand what data tables are required to retrieve the information you are looking for. Analytic Dashboards are most easily built if you have a base level understanding of SQL. A user interface that works more like Microsoft Automate to build dashboards would be helpful. I like the flexibility and cloud capabilities of Unanet AE ERP. Custom reports are pretty easy to write, and setting up reports to remind us of deadlines when multiple projects are going is very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some basic accounting reports don't have drill downs to detail unless we write our own reports. Some reports create windows that close if you don't hit the back arrow. Some windows have important data that's hard to find. Links to some information centers are non-existent, like Client and Contacts links are missing. Accounts receivable (unpaid invoices) should be a tab on the project file. The initial setup was not easy; many items in the conversion made no sense, like Cash Basis entries, and many documents did not convert from Vision Document Management to Unanet Documents. I love the grid system in Unanet AE ERP and some of the reporting capabilities. I also appreciate the flexibility it offers. The expense and time sheet entries could be more automated and not so manually intensive. We also need to get educated on AI analytics, which we haven't used yet. The initial setup was challenging, requiring extensive data cleanup. I think Unanet AE ERP could have easier functionality and oversight for project managers and offer better reporting options without needing customization. The interface should be more user-friendly because it's currently hard to find the data needed. Also, the initial setup was before my time, but it was described as a long and complicated process. Unanet AE is powerful! Many of the applets are intuitive. The ability to customize dashboards is fantastic! We worked with Unanet for an optimization and the team was great. They were responsive and really helped up improve our best practices. Additionally, the customer support is outstanding! I'm so excited to see where AI takes this! Some out-of-the-box solutions aren't exactly what we need and require some additional customization. There are some oddities that I'd love to see changed or fixed, but nothing that impacts the way we use the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that everything we need from ERP is in one software with Unanet AE ERP. The dashboards do a great job summarizing performance data, allowing us to monitor company performance effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It can be a bit slow at times, and the project management functionality can be a bit cumbersome. The resource scheduler in particular could be improved. The initial setup was a LOT of work and took over a year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Unanet needs to have one platform – cloud based. Having some things updated in one platform and not the other (budgeting for instance had to be enhanced to be the same) is frustrating.

Resource planning is clunky and not user friendly for high level planning. Our PM’s will continue to use excel until the system is more user friendly (ie can add in multiple ODC items that represent different budgeted items – right now they have to all be combined in 1 line item), also being able to have a comments section next to a labor or ODC item for planning / budgeting purposes would be super helpful, and being able to list out the same class of staff (ie senior scientist) for the same phase is truly a budgeting must have because often a phase needs 80 hours in a week by 2 senior scientists and as the system is now I have to enter one line of a senior scientist for 80 hours which for resource planning isn’t accurate).

Also, several small requests have been made for a while now that just keep getting kicked aside because I guess they aren’t AI or cool enough. They are as follows: 1. Add a 3rd box in PA Bill Review for permanent notes. Currently there is an Invoicing box for the invoice and a second box for PM Instructions to biller that clears out when the G/L period rolls over for the next month's comments. Please just add a stationary box so we can put comments in like “Invoice the 26th of each month.”

The other comments I have heard are that every time someone wants to move a transaction in PA review, we have to click the button to move TX, then select Project Code bc it always defaults to project name (when moving transactions you almost always have to use the code). It either needs to have Project Code as the default or allow the user to select a default that will stay. Also when reviewing an automated invoice, EVERY TIME I open the document to view it I have to change it to whole page bc the default leaves it reduced in size and the pop-out not full page. Nobody can read it that way. It’s the small fixes that don’t get done that make me not like it. User useability experience should be as important as new abilities and functions. This is also true of setting set in the desktop that don't translate to the web based platform.

Also it would be nice if invoice templates were easy to build and alter and a separate consultant OAS module and training wasn't necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like where Unanet AE ERP is going, especially with its AI features. As a super user, I appreciate using the query builder feature to build reports and dashboards.
