I think Unanet AE ERP could have easier functionality and oversight for project managers and offer better reporting options without needing customization. The interface should be more user-friendly because it's currently hard to find the data needed. Also, the initial setup was before my time, but it was described as a long and complicated process. Unanet AE can run beneficial reports that we were unable to run in our previous software, allowing us to run better analytics and gather more information about many pressing topics. Depending on what’s needed, they’ll help troubleshoot and resolve it through a variety of channels, including email, phone calls, token logins, and more.

I also appreciate that AE lets you request updates through the support center. Users across the country can vote on items submitted by other users, and the development team uses that feedback to help prioritize future updates. Unanet AE provides the flexibility to customize my invoice designs and dashboards for my users. The ability to use ChampAI to ask questions and develop dashboards gives me added functionality. I like that Unanet AE ERP centralizes pretty much all of our accounting needs and has helped streamline our billing process. The program is robust, the user interface is easy to navigate, and I can move easily between different modules. I’ve run into some glitches, and Unanet AE ERP can lag when my internet connection isn’t strong. The web version has display glitches when I pull effort reports, and the exports are a bit clunky and need cleanup before PMs who are less technically savvy can use them. When I filter and sort effort figures in the pop-up module, the bottom subtotal lines don’t update. Lately, pulling batch invoices through automated invoicing has also caused projects to get deadlocked. Setup was challenging at first because of data transfer obstacles and items that needed manual auditing and adjustments, and the learning curve was arduous for the company since PMs were used to marking up PDFs prior to using Unanet AE ERP for bill review. As a finance resource, I use Unanet ERP daily.

Unanet’s project tracking is the biggest win for me. The transaction flow from estimate to invoice is easy to follow, and because there’s no manual transfer of data, it’s clear to read and understand while also saving a lot of time.

Timesheet filing through mobile is another advantage. People can submit from their phones wherever they are, which translates into more timely invoicing.

Unanet support has also been consistently helpful. They respond in a timely manner and stay engaged until the issue is resolved.

We also have several complicated billing setups across different clients, and Unanet handles them without requiring workarounds. The Unanet AE interface feels a bit outdated overall. Some functions are slower than they should be like switching out of reports or moving between modules can take longer than expected at times.
