My firm went from using spreadsheets to manage our proposals and client management so any CRM would have been a hyge upgrade for us. Being in the construction we do things different than most and Unanet was the only software to come close to what we were looking for. There are a lot of options for custimization which we are utlizing to help taylor the software to our needs. The dashboards and automation features are especially helpful to stay efficinet in our CRM process but to also see the figures and trends to react quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Unanet is custimizable, there are still many things that do not work as we told they would. Proposal creation through the Publisher has quite a few limits that in the end make it more work to use in relation to just using our original templated work document. That feature has been sidelined for my firm until Unanet improves on it. We have also discovered many bugs in how you update the information within your opportunities that don't update the information properly. It took some back and forth to figure this out but it appears these issues have still not been fixed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how all of the information for our projects, statuses, companies and contacts are kept in one area. I really appreciated our onboarding person Laura and Jackie who helped our company through the process. They helped make the integration for our company much better of an experience. They made it much better! I use the Unanet software everyday and I appeciate that I can get in and out easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the biggest concerns is it doesn't look great. The interface is one that is not interseting to look at, like a Salesforce. It needs a better interface to make users want to stay in the program. Also it literally took me at least 4 months to really learn this software, which is too much of a steep learning curve. Some features are not intuitive and it takes 3-4 clicks to do what should take 1. The exporting isn't awesome. The opportunities that only show 100 at a time! Soo many issues. I’ve been using Unanet CRM primarily to maintain a detailed history log of my company's past projects, and it has been a game-changer in terms of organization and access to critical project data. The software goes far beyond just record-keeping, offering a suite of powerful business development tools that I'm continually discovering and implementing. This expansive functionality makes it an excellent asset for any company seeking to enhance its CRM capabilities without breaking the budget. Compared to competitors, Unanet CRM offers the best value, combining robust features with affordability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My only suggestion would be a refresh of the dashboard interface to give it a more modern and intuitive look. Overall, a fantastic CRM that continues to impress. I do not like the platform to get help, it requires you to login and see if there is a response, where as it would be nice for someone to call and walk you through issues. *The ability to track so much information regarding projects. It is a one-stop shop and my one source of truth for all project data, whether it's team members that worked on it, budget information, project descriptions, project photos, awards, etc.
*It's also highly customizeable, so I can update fields with information that's most relevant to me and my firm.
*The Publisher feature is a HUGE time saver. It used to take over an hour to create resumes, and it was hard to keep them consistent. With Cosential CRM, I have updated resumes done and ready in less than 10 minutes.
*The grid was great back when I used to do quick updates of opportunities.
*Love love LOVE the fact that I can easily search for projects that have a specific attribute, either using one of the custom fields, or doing a search in the project descriptions (and speaking of project descriptions, I love that you can have more than one!) *Although the Publisher module IS great, there are some options I wish would be updated or incorporated---like the ability to filter out projects if a team member only worked on for a few hours, or the ability to easily rearrange the order of projects in a project list. I also wish the templates were a bit easier to work with--sometimes you have to know little "tricks" in order to get certain features to come out the way you want them to.
*It would be nice if you could easily save over reports when you want to update them. I do understand the importance of not losing reports, but it is time consuming to have to give it a new name, then go back and delete the original report you just updated.
*Although I appreciate that they take suggestions for improvements into mind, it does seem to take quite a while for them to get incorporated...even when they are items that seem like common sense, and everyone seems to want.
*It does not easily integrate with our budgeting/management software, Deltek Ajera. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The item I like best about using Unanet CRM by Cosential is the ability to review collected information within the company. The ease of use seems to help compared to other software on the market. I use this software daily and enjoy having it at my fingertips. I also like having the ability to store contacts and see others' info internally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The webpage seems to go offline or down occasionally, which can be very frustrating, especially before/during a weekly scheduled meeting. It would be nice if any maintenance would occur during "off-hours" or when companies are typically closed. Please change this! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's been great that Unanet has invested additional resources with their support team and been listening to users who want enhancements to certain areas for years. The examples of the important updates are an improved user interface and a new mobile app geared towards Business Development users are great investments.
Another great component of Unanet CRM that others like Salesforce is that it collects historical project data. It's very useful for all types of people in our company. From a receptionist to our C-Suite Executives, this module includes important information that is requested often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does take awhile for enhancements to get implemented. However Unanet has a lot planned for this year to make the CRM better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest upside in my mind is the tailored approach for AEC firms. As a construction company, our procurement process differs greatly from other industries and unanet is designed to closely follow that workflow. It's very customizable so we can use it to direct our workflows throughout the customer lifecycle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest drawback to Unanet CRM sometimes is the mass of data available and it can be difficult to quickly put together reporting elements due to the number of available fields to sort through. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The simple outlook integration makes it so easy for my busy technical professionals to log their activities and keep track of our latest touchpoints with key clients. As a firm that primarily works as a sub-contractor, Unanet has given us excellent solutions to track our teaming partnerships on projects without overloading our pipeline with duplicate entries. The ease of use and integration into products we use daily made user adoption so much easier, with staff knowing they could do everything they needed right from Outlook. This has been a game changer for our business development tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some fields that are not relevant to our business that I would like to be able to turn off to simplify the system, particularly in the projects area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We love Unanet for the ability to connect both our pursuit information with project data to allow business developers and marketing teams to see a full picutre of the relationship and efforts put into each project. We also love that we can easily gather resume information from our FDC without having to constantly get updates from the project teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There isn't much that we don't like. The platform is quite robust so the only negative is that because there is so much avaialble information and data it can be quite overwhelming for some until they fully grasp the ease and use of the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is our "Resource for Truth" as we like to describe it. We have been utilizing our CRM for 12+ years and have all of our past and current projects, active leads, business partners/clients, company goals, etc., all housed within the database. Our leaders have come to depend on this information and rely on it. Everything you need is at your fingertips, and it has been a tremendous help as we pull together our proposals having all of our project history available to report on. A few things need improvement however the Unanet team has been working hard to make those improvements. A few examples that need improvement: goals module, dashboard flexibility (more than currently available), more customizable fields, and admin functions - which again, many items are on their planned schedule and we are excited for that. I do wish they would finish one project before moving on to another though, for instance, the rolled out a new forms module however it is not 100% ready however other items are also being rolled out - none of which are 100% ready.
