"Versatile Tool with Easy Setup, Minor Customization Limits"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

I use Smartsheet for a lot of things like project trackers, timelines, inventory management, asset management, content trackers, and even run of shows. It's easy to use in many cases and allows us to share sheets easily with people both within and outside of our organization. Smartsheet makes it easy to gather information in forms and automate it as well. I really like the ability to create dashboards to curate information visually. It's valuable for managing multiple projects simultaneously, grouping related sheets, and for presentations when we need to showcase data and information. The initial setup was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

It has some limitations for customization. Customization of the sheets toolbar is limited, you can only make certain changes to the whole row versus individual cells and vice versa. I think it lacks a little in the timeline aspect as well, in order to automize it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient, User-Friendly Project Management with Powerful Dashboards and Automation"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

What I like best about Smartsheet is its intuitive UI/UX and the simplicity of its dashboard, which makes project tracking, reporting, and workflow management highly accessible even for users without advanced technical expertise. The platform offers clear visualizations, customizable dashboards, and easy-to-navigate tools that allow teams to quickly monitor KPIs, deadlines, and operational progress.

Its integrations with widely used platforms such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Slack, and other enterprise tools significantly improve collaboration and centralize workflows. In terms of performance, Smartsheet is reliable and efficient for managing both simple and complex projects, especially when coordinating multiple teams or large-scale operational initiatives.

From a pricing and ROI perspective, Smartsheet delivers strong value by improving productivity, automating repetitive tasks, and enhancing organizational visibility, which can save substantial time and operational costs. Support and onboarding are also notable strengths, with accessible learning resources, templates, and customer service that help organizations implement the platform effectively.

Finally, Smartsheet’s growing AI and automation capabilities add further value by streamlining processes, generating insights, and reducing manual administrative work. Overall, its balance of ease of use, functionality, and scalability makes it a highly effective work management solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

While Smartsheet is a powerful platform, there are some areas that could be improved. From a UI/UX perspective, although the dashboard is intuitive, certain advanced features and administrative settings can feel less user-friendly and may require a learning curve for new users. Some workflows or automation configurations can also become complex without prior experience.

Regarding integrations, while Smartsheet connects well with many major platforms, some integrations may require additional setup, third-party connectors, or premium plans to unlock full functionality, which can limit accessibility for smaller teams.

In terms of performance, large sheets or highly complex workspaces can occasionally experience slower load times, especially when managing extensive datasets or multiple automated processes simultaneously.

Pricing can also be a concern, as Smartsheet may feel expensive for smaller organizations or nonprofits with limited budgets, particularly when advanced features, premium integrations, or enterprise-level capabilities are required.

Support and onboarding resources are generally strong, but some users may find that fully leveraging the platform’s more advanced functions requires additional training or time investment.

Finally, while Smartsheet’s AI and automation tools are improving, they may not yet feel as advanced or comprehensive as some competing platforms that offer deeper predictive analytics or more sophisticated AI-driven insights. Overall, while Smartsheet is highly effective, improvements in affordability, advanced usability, and AI sophistication could further enhance the experience. "Smartsheet Dashboards: Clear, Well-Organized, and Improved Fast from Feedback"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Project dashboards and task sheets provide a great workspace with well-structured tables and clear organization. I’m also happy to see that Smartsheet continuously updates both the platform and the dashboards.

One thing I especially appreciated was how responsive they were to feedback — after I reported that some numbers in dashboard charts were overlapping and hard to read, the issue was fixed within about a month. That really impressed me. Now my project dashboards are much clearer, readable, and easier to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

Sometimes backup processing can take longer than expected. Also, some of my colleagues occasionally had issues logging in, although I personally have never experienced this problem myself — just mentioning it for transparency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smartsheet: Intuitive Spreadsheet Feel with Powerful Project Management"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

What I like best about Smartsheet is how it combines the familiarity of a spreadsheet with powerful project management and collaboration features. It’s intuitive to get started, but still robust enough to handle complex workflows.

In particular, the ability to automate processes, track tasks in real time, and collaborate easily with different stakeholders makes it very efficient. Features like dashboards and reporting also help turn data into clear, actionable insights, which is especially valuable for monitoring progress and supporting decision-making.

Overall, it strikes a good balance between ease of use and functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

What I dislike about Smartsheet is that, while it’s powerful, it can become complex and less intuitive when you start using more advanced features. Setting up automations, formulas, or cross-sheet references often requires a bit of a learning curve.

Another drawback is that performance can slow down with large sheets or complex workflows, which can impact efficiency. The interface can also feel less user-friendly compared to more modern tools, especially for new users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Share Sheets with Helpful Guidance and Strong Project Monitoring Tools"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

There are several tools available to help monitor a project and prepare it effectively. Each sheet you create is easy to be stored, see changes of history, but also share it to people outside the organization. Sheets can be exported. While creating a sheet, a basic guide and instructions are available on how to make most of it and structure it in a correct way. AI options are also available, however I have not yet made used of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

It is a bit hard to understand the full capacity and the difference between all the sheets that can be created. I have also tried grouping - putting sheets into specific folders, but I have faced some difficulties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines Project Management & Tasks with Ease"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

I love the look and feel of Smartsheet and how simple it is to create automations and workflows. Sharing is easy too. Making automations is straightforward, and the forms allow me to gather detailed information from anyone. The automations are not just for sending emails but also for sending request forms, reminders, and more. For projects, I set up automations that send emails to action owners to update their actions, which saves me from having to remind them myself. The initial setup was really easy for us. I like the fact that it has got a direct connection to PowerBI so I can create more advanced dashbaords if required. I never got any issues with the server or lagging or much of bugs it was more on the functionality that is lacking. The cost is pretty high too if we want to implement it but if the client is okay with this tool then it is a good recommendation for large and medium sized companies. What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

I find that making the dynamic dropdown better with a better interface would be an improvement. Also, copying columns easily with the conditional formatting is an issue. I'm not able to create multiple columns at once, and I can't copy the type of the columns—I have to create it every time. There is no option of creating new workspaces with a templated version and if I need that I might have to go and create using control center which is again cost effective. "Streamlined Reporting with Smartsheet"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

It has a wide range of applications and is able to create bespoke solutions that are easy to use. The cell history function and the ability to amend permissions (admin, editor, viewer, etc) make governance and auditing easy. The annual cost of member seats is reasonable and making viewers free has meant that it is a system that the whole business can use. Reporting can be as simple or sophisticated as required but the control centre tool allows you to aggregate data for many workspaces into one report. Having a database has reduced duplication in work and the whole system has made our processes more streamlined and efficient. The online support and training videos were crucial to get our system going. Cheetah Transformation were a pivotal third party company that helped us develop our solution and introduce best practice. In the future, we are looking at how Smartsheet can integrate with our other systems. Performance is generally good with the occasional delay in pulling data from sheets to dashboards, but this resolves in time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

It is a relatively new software for the business so we haven't had the chance to find anything we dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible, Easy-to-Use Project Management with Powerful Automation and Dashboards"
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Smartsheet’s biggest strength is its flexibility and ease of use. It combines the familiarity of a spreadsheet with powerful project management features, making it easy to track tasks, timelines, and dependencies without a steep learning curve. The automation workflows, dashboards, and reporting capabilities provide strong visibility and help streamline coordination across teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

Least helpful / downsides:

Limited depth for complex projects – Not as powerful as tools like MS Project or Jira for advanced dependencies, resource planning, or large-scale programs

Performance issues with large sheets – Can slow down when handling heavy data or multiple linked sheets

Cost scales quickly – Licensing can become expensive as more users and features are added

Basic UI for advanced use – While simple, it can feel restrictive and less intuitive for complex workflows

Reporting limitations – Dashboards are good, but deep analytics and customization are somewhat limited

Automation constraints – Useful, but not as flexible as dedicated workflow automation tools

Dependency management is not very strong – Handling complex inter-project dependencies can be cumbersome

In short:

Great for structured collaboration, but not ideal for highly complex project management or large enterprise-scale planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
