**Reviewed by:** AKANKSHA R. | Assistant Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Rival?**

What I like best about Rival is its combination of quality, ease of use, and reliable performance. It consistently delivers what it promises, with features that are both practical and user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

One thing I dislike about Rival is that some of its advanced features may take a bit of time to fully understand, especially for new users. Additionally, depending on the version, the pricing could be slightly higher compared to some alternatives.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rival helps us track performance, give timely feedback, and prepare future leaders, making talent management smoother and more effective.

  ### 2. Rival makes onboarding so easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessi K. | HR Systems Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I love being able to customize tasks, who they go to, and the types of forms or notifications I can send to them. Rival really helps us to have a superior onboarding that helps employees, managers and internal stakeholders feel supported. Using Rival onboarding has eliminated a ton of manual processes and saved us a lot of time. I also love that as an administrator I can make almost all changes I need to the set ups, add or remove tasks in real-time without needing to contact support or pay for a project.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

There are so many places you can make changes. It is great, but it can be a lot to remember when you have to make changes.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation of onboarding. We can have tasks staggered to keep in touch with folks as they onboard without having to remember or set a million reminders.

  ### 3. Great workflow, however lacking functionality on Mobile

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I love the expanded Analytics section of their recent updates to the platform.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

The only dislike I have for Rival is the interconnectivity with our current systems. This is more of an issue with the combination of systems we use rather than Rival's product.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The features for analytics allow us to do more internal reporting rather than spending money on other softwares to complete such reports.

  ### 6. Awesome Analytics Summary feature

  ### 11. Easy to use but glitchy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Rival?**

Able to use and see employee information easily - a lot of information in one location.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Many glitches where you would lose your information because you couldn't save and would need to start over.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, we are not using this system for new hires, only for retaining information for those active and onboarded in that system.

  ### 12. Great experience!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I like that we are able to connect the systems on the backend. We have an integration with our HRIS and that connects to the Onboarding system which shares the same backend with the performance system. We make changes in our HRIS and it's automatically updated in the SilkRoad programs.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

We had issues using the scheduling features, but they have recently launched an update with it, so I'm hoping this will resolve those issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

I highly recommend these products. They are easy to use and solve the majority of our problems. I also like the integration between the systems.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are saving time and being more consistent. We are printing less documents and saving money on mailing new hire paperwork to our new hires.

  ### 13. Great for employee training

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christine M. | Project manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Rival?**

What is most helpful about Silk Road Technology is that it allows my company to scale compliance training to all employees quickly and efficiently. It is also nice that the software can send email reminders when trainings are due, when they are incomplete and when they are completed. It helps us keep a running record of employee compliance as well.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

The least helpful thing about Silk Road Technology is that it the interfaced, in my opinion, isn't updated and modern looking when working through the training.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Consider using Silk Road Technology to ensure your staff/employees stay up-to-date with all pieces of training needed for successful work!

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Silk Road Technology helps ensure that everyone at our organization is compliant with all legally and non-legally required training.

  ### 14. Great tech support, Recruit program not very customizable

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Judy H. | HR Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Rival?**

Tech support is the best, fast and very capable. The program does most of the functions you would expect of an ATS.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Recruiting is not very customizable. I can add some custom fields, but I cannot change or enhance most of what is set in stone. Emails to applicants go to their junk because they clearly come from SilkRoad and not the employer. There is no place for notes on applicant profiles or hiring lists. Hiring authorities can very easily and accidentally post a job directly to the Internet before it is vetted and approved because that option is open to them along with seeing all jobs and candidates in the program rather than being limited to only their jobs and applicants. The applicant experience can be difficult especially since an application is not saved as it is being created, page by page, but only after it is submitted so that applicants can be easily timed-out and lose all their work. They also struggle to add or change information after the application is submitted.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a program we could add to our employee/customer database and this has solved the issue of not having an ATS available. I do appreciate that SilkRoad keeps the program current and working effectively so that our IT and I have limited need to perform those tasks.

  ### 15. Onboarding Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Page D. | Human Resources Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

RedCarpet makes my life so much easier as an HR Specialist. I am constantly working with multiple candidates, and having everyone (and their progress) on the same dashboard truly allows me to stay organized and on track.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

I can't say there is ANYTHING i dislike! I love how easy it is to add tasks and make it customizable to fit any need our organization has.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Nothing! It works perfect for us

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping everything on track and moving along so that we can onboard people in a timeframe that allows all departments involved to get their items prepared before the new hire comes on board, and also allows us to keep accountability of our staff to do those items.

  ### 16. SilkRoad has met our needs but I haven't been blown away.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I like that we can have a custom onboarding portal with information as well as action items.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

I wish we could trigger emails that have actual attachments and not just link to attachments.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have automated onboarding.

  ### 17. Silk Road

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emilee L.

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2020

  ### 18. Best in class Onboarding, Good Applicant Tracking, and integration-focused platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will T. | Manager of Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Rival?**

The onboarding solution is highly customizeable, and it serves both event administrators/support teams and employees (e.g. new hire experiences) very well. The onboarding User Interface is very user friendly and intuitive despite being a very robust system. Few competitors can compare in the feature set and functionality of this system.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Mobile experience and mobile platform development over their applications in general is lacking, and the User Interface for Applicant Tracking is too burdensome/complex for hiring managers and teams that aren't the sophisticated users, recruiters, or administrators.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

If your focus is Onboarding, it's a strong option. The ATS is still maturing not in terms of capability or performance, but rather end-user intuitiveness and ease of navigation and creating a good user experience.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integration with core system (different provider) has been a challenge, though there's multiple reasons and layers of complexity to the issue(s) (not entirely SilkRoad). Still, their commitment and execution to an Open API has been slow moving and will need to be stepped-up to remain competitive to other providers.

  ### 19. I love SilkRoad

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Rival?**

The two critical attributes of SilkRoad, at least for the Recruiting and Onboarding tools that we use, are:

1. They work very well.
2. Expert, U.S. based technical support is available when we need it.

This combination is hard to beat. No fumbling through FAQ page after FAQ page, trying to figure out how to solve your problem or make your change. Just send an email or pick up the phone, get the problem solved by an expert, and go right back to doing that HR stuff they pay us to do.

In the nine years since we first partnered with SilkRoad, I have always felt like they were teammates rather than vendors.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

It would be convenient if SilkRoad's billing and contracts teams coordinated more closely with each other. It would save a few phone calls at contract-renewal time.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our Talent Acquisition runs smoothly, our TA data is comprehensive and easy both to report and work with, and our Onboarding is a now well-oiled machine.

  ### 20. Welcomed System Updates from New SilkRoad Leadership

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I've used SilkRoad since 2008 at two different companies.

Until very recently, the SilkRoad support was not very customer focused. This has changed in the last couple months. My experience working with Dan Karnuth has been excellent!

SilkRoad Onboarding (RedCarpet) is a good product.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

SilkRoad Recruiting (OpenHire) is just an OK product, and until very recently in need of a many major upgrades.

Over the last several months SilkRoad is finally making long awaited updates. These updates are making SilkRoad Recruiting worth considering as viable applicant tracking system again.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SilkRoad Onboarding (RedCarpet) is being used for global onboarding.

SilkRoad Recruiting (OpenHire) is being used for global applicant tracking.

  ### 21. Used Silkroad for 11 years

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Rival?**

Ability to run reports and update user access within the system versus needing to go through HRIS/BI Analyst to build a report.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Was not fully integrated with our HRIS/Payroll system and we were required as a result to move to one all inclusive platfrom.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Silkroad as an ATS and Onboarding system is good and very easy to use as an administrator. They provide periodic webinars for updates to their clients and I had no problem contacting support for assistance. We did end up switching to another vendor who was able to meet our complex Payroll software needs as well.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Used it exclusively for the Applicant Tracking System

  ### 22. Average at best - buyer beware

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

The OH portion of SR is a reliable repository for applicants. It shows well outwardly to our applicants who don't often indicate issues applying.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

The customer service is horrible and the system upgrades inconsistent. Once they have you as a customer - there is no touchy feely maintenance. They just want their renewals. The system runs slow often making it frustrating for our team and reporting features - which are very important - are weak and difficult to use. Making modifications to your system once it is designed takes an act of congress along with a freaking bank loan. They have failed to instill any sense of appreciation for our continued business and we have been customer for years even staying with them after they no longer supported functionality that we purchased. We purchased the full suite and within a year or two they stopped supporting one of the full-life cycle modules -- so now we are part life cycle? Who needs two systems? We kept it only because of the applicant history. We have reached out for support and our requests have allegedly escalated to the CFO and we are still waiting on contact regarding a request for supplemental tech support. They absolutely don't care about their customers or they are just ignoring needs until they merge or decide that they don't want to upgrades systems any longer and they stop supporting another module. We went two years without contact from an account manager.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a searchable repository of information and candidate history. That is our greatest benefit. We do pull the occasional report but not many as we were told early on in the process by a trainer that they were not user friendly or that helpful so we don't waste much time generating them.

  ### 23. SilkRoad is on the right track

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenna S. | Coordinator, HRIS, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I like the Candidate Experience and all the customization that goes with it. I know there is even more coming down the line with Candidate Experience that will allow for even more customization. Additionally, their customer service reps are amazing! I have never had a negative experience when I call in. If don't have the answer, they go find it and call me back.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

For starters, the LMS needs to be configured so it pulls info from the Onboarding system, like the agile performance system does. That would cut down on the manual labor for us Admins. The Performance system could use some work as well. It's very linear and the standard review process doesn't allow for multiple managers (engage doesn't work for our needs). Nor is there an option for the Key Reviewers to see the employee's goals or self-review - which for us is critical with secondary managers that don't manage on a project basis, but are always managing in addition to the primary manager.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have greatly reduced paper in our Onboarding process. We can also get targeted information to different employee types so they have all the information they need to complete Onboarding.

  ### 24. solid platform, not great at resolving issues

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Packaging and Containers | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

the platforms are very user friendly, and our employees find great value from the system.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

we were going through an integration, and the team supporting us was awful to put it nicely. it took a year and a half, and still does not work how it should. our company spent hours of manpower to try and get the integration where it should be, and frankly, the opportunity cost was incredibly high.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

ask a ton of questions before implementing. we felt a bit mislead from the onset, and this resulted in way more work than any of us anticipated.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

their technology team is very stretched, and doesn't deliver what they set out to in a timely manner. our employees find benefits from the onboarding and agile platforms. they enhance the EE experience

  ### 25. SilkRoad is all inclusive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

The SilkRoad staff are always available to help you. From implementation to training to support. They are always reachable and quick to respond.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Some of the platforms have limited functionality. For example, Agile Performance isn't able to to do as much as we would like. The system is not as robust as the others making it overly simplistic in its capabilities.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Have a very clear idea of what you are wanting out of the systems before implementation to have the systems setup up exactly how you want them from the start. Ask as many questions as possible during implementation.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SilkRoad Technology has significantly benefited our learning and development. We use SilkRoad Learning for all of our safety and development trainings as well as our promotion system.

  ### 26. Functional but simple

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in International Trade and Development | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

Silkroad has many different platforms that can be used across HR, including applicant tracking, onboarding and performance reviews. It has a lot of functionality but it is not the most intuitive or elaborate system out there.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

It could use some new features, especially to the applicant tracking system. It serves it purpose but does not have some of the extras that other systems have.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Silkroad has a good suite of products to consider. It is an affordable option but will not have all of the bells & whistles that some other (more expensive) suites will have. It is very functional and they do make fairly regular updates to the systems.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it for applicant tracking, onboarding and performance reviews, which helps keep all of those processes automated. The systems are fairly easy and make tracking much easier.

  ### 27. SilkRoad Onboarding Experience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Agency Administration Information Systems Manager, Government Administration, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

The product is pretty straight forward in basic setup and configuration. The user interface is aesthetically pleasing and easy for first time users to quickly adopt. Single Sign on availability makes using all SilkRoad products much easier as members need to remember only one password. Updates made are generally easy to implement. Also find the integration with our ERP System seamless. Setup is straight forward and can run on a job scheduler.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

After implementation, it becomes more challenging to make updates and modifications. Customization isn't as easy to implement as expected. Modification of custom forms can take time and resources not every organization may have available. Customization can cost additional dollars if not setup initially. Test over and over until you have reached 100% user adoption rate.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Look at multiple products and compare features. Make sure whichever product selected meets the needs of the business. Ask to demonstrate the product with the implementation team and power users rather than sales. In my experience, talking to the power-users will give you much more insight of limitations you may be faced with once deployed.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automated workflow and paperless processing of new employees and performance reviews for existing. Integration with our ERP system is seamless and data entry is pretty much something of the past. All data is stored off site in the cloud and little concern about disaster recovery, missing files or records in the event of an emergency.

  ### 28. Managing Director, HR

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Valerie Y. | Managing Director, HR, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

Everything is electronic, no need to send out forms; tasks are automatically tracked - very easy onboarding process for applicants

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Integration with ADP is not seamless, setting up tasks not very user friendly - annual form acknowledgements are very difficult to set-up
Adding tasks also difficult, I feel like I have to be a programmer to understand how it works.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving time to process onboarding and load files, I-9 process efficiency

  ### 29. Onboarding Tools

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly W. | VP Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

Onboarding is the best of all the products that Silkroad has to offer. The workflow within it is easy to use, easy to follow IF you have your tasks set up correctly.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

What I like least about Onboarding is that it doesn't connect to Learning to auto complete tasks. Example, if the task says to complete an eCourse, you have to log into Learning - to watch, then log back into Onboarding to save and complete the task.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

do your homework and make sure all the products connect

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed an alternative to paper files, this system allowed us to move to electronic employee files which is a million times better and more efficient than the paper files.

  ### 30. Silkroad - Great Recruitment Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Capital Markets | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I like the candidate portal. It seperstes candiddates into the different recruitment stages and keeps candidates organized. It helps us to keep candidates moving and to see where our bottlenecks are.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Sometimes the system doesn't recognize when a candidate is a duplicate. Additionally, it sometimes considers two candidates with the same name as duplicate which can make it confusing.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

I would consider the amount of candidates you are processing. If there is a large amount, I would highly recommend.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Silkroads supports our recruitment process by tracking our candidtaes and open job titles

  ### 31. Down to earth and caring; doing business a different way

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul M. | Executive Director, Organizational Development and Human Resources, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

The integration with the models and the ability to adapt as we move forward has been one of the best things. The answer is rarely no, but rather, how can we. There are a few times where good things happen to those who wait, but people know items are being worked on and progress is being made.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

I think the programming costs are a bit high at times, especially when it appears to be a minimal change. Not enough flexibility in this area. Also, not enough attention being focused on education as a section of the business. Too much "one size fits all".

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

You need to have programmers and a sales team dedicated to Education. It has unique challenges compared to other industries and SilkRoad continues to fail to recognize that. Changes seem to be a one off every time instead of allowing Education as a whole to share best practices.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The off-boarding is the latest challenge. That and shortening the application. Both will make it for a more positive end user experience, which is what we want.

  ### 32. out of date technology

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

It is fairly intuitive to navigate and use as you look around for things. As a new HRMS user I didn't attend training and am able to use reports and look at employee data from searching for it on my own.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

The technology is out of date and we haven't seen upgrades for years. When you ask for a service person knowledgeable in HR, they have very few left at the company. It seems they are trying to retire it and it would be nice for them to be clear with customers that is on the way. There are no custom report options available, even if you paid for them through SilkRoad.

Up to date features like Gender X or third gender, and EEO categories are behind the times.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Look elsewhere. It seems likely that they will decommission the software soon.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are doing benefits open enrolllment through the system (not self-service though)

  ### 33. Good system, not as robust as it could be

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I like that it is a fully integrated system, and that they (somewhat) talk to each other

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

There are challenges with the information flowing through. There are also some limitation to the system - particularly from an analytics perspective - that could be improved.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's definitely streamlined processes (onboarding, mandatory training) and I like that there is self-service functionality

  ### 34. Improves tracking tasks, difficult to configure

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marisa H. | HR Representative - Systems and Reporting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

Being able to track tasks and hold employees accountable for completing their portions of onboarding. Allows you to complete administrative paperwork quickly.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Creating eforms is not very user friendly. I've had issues with the lifesuite onboarding form linking the HR Coordinator to the HR Representative role in WingSpan. Sometimes the system does thing that we didn't know it would do and don't have the ability to turn off. It can be difficult to assign tasks to team and have them claim their tasks (safety committee).

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Plan out your onboarding tasks before hand, do a mock run before setting up all of the tasks in the system. You may find tasks to be repetitive or that some items should be self completing tasks (emails notifying the employee to complete something). The goal is to reduce administrative work, adding too many tasks can be counter intuitive.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to have an employee complete forms online and have the system automatically send those completed forms to other departments. It's reduced the administrative workload that we have. All online forms are in one area and can be easily printed out once completed.

  ### 35. Learning Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

We like that we are able to track training completions and compliance for our company as well as create events and schedule them. We also use training records from LMS for audits.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Some of the reporting presets are limiting. For example, not being able to pull a report for elective courses. Also, manually assessing training completions for instructor led courses can be somewhat of a chore.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using LMS to track compliance as our company wants at least 90% of assigned training to be completed.

  ### 36. SilkRoad RedCarpet-Great Product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tameka R. | HR Recruiter, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

This product is wonderful! Electronic onboarding is very convenient and customizable. You can create your own E-forms.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

If you have a task dependent upon another, you are not allowed to remove the task without having to remove all of the others. The new tax forms that come out, takes time to upload once you click on "get latest."

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has simplified the process for us. The notifications are wonderful when the employees have not completed the tasks based on the due dates. Allows you to assign tasks to other team members for their tasks to be completed. The system it self is just a great system to have.

  ### 37. SilkRoad Onboarding

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anijke S. | Recruiting Administrative Coordinator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

SilkRoad is easy to navigate and efficient to use for updating statuses of potential candidates and Rolling out the Red Carpet for recent hires.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

The major issue with SilkRoad is running specific reports. It would be great if there was an easier way to run reports for specific types of candidates or particular characteristics/traits of candidates for metrics review.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Utilize the reports and the metrics usage available. Great resource for understanding the candidate pool.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We utilize SilkRoad for all applications and for onboarding. It is efficient and allows for a smooth transition into the Onboarding stage for both candidates and hiring managers.

  ### 38. SilkRoad LMS - Why you should consider this great resource

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew R. | Chief People and Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

SilkRoad has provided our organization a cost effective resource for administering our organization's learning opportunities. I have work with many best of breed LMS platforms and SilkRoad provides great value.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Other HRIS platforms provide more consistent and regular R&D upgrades. I think this in an area where SilkRoad could devote more resources toward.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Please make sure you speak to their knowledgeable product implementation and support staff on how their clients have used the software. In relation to other LMS platforms, SilkRoad can do just about everything most organizations will need to provide a great learning administration resource.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the LMS to help plan, initiate, monitor and track our New Employee Orientation. The checklist and scheduling features provide great communication and accountability resources for our staff/leaders.

  ### 39. Great product for engaging new hires and connecting them to company values!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heather L. | Sr. Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

The SilkRoad product has given our recruiting team a means to not only engage new hires in the pre-boarding process through the interactive portal, but has also given the recruiting team a way to streamline tasks between management, the recruitment team, auditing, and the new hire.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

The admin side is not user friendly within the portal and it is difficult to customize and brand without in depth training. I also wish there was a "take a tour" feature that calls out important parts of the new hire portal.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have increased organization with policy confirmation and tracking, provided a means for auditing to access confirmed tasks, and has helped recruiting eliminate unnecessary paper processes to automate the on-boarding paperwork and tasks.

  ### 40. SDCRAA Silkroad Review

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

1. Ease of creating tasks in Onboarding
2. Easy end user experience to post jobs
3. Automated email notifications and reminders in Onboarding

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

1. Lack of customization (ability to self edit most fields/dropdown lists in Recruiting and Onboarding)
2. Reporting in onboarding and recruiting is way too basic
3. Unable to further customize integration between onboarding and recruiting (adding more fields to feed over that are critical to the business)
4. Role options in recruiting are very limited. Admin has less access than recruiting manager which doesn't make sense.
5. Lacking dashboarding capabilities
6. Unable to create more complex custom forms in Onboarding
7. Unable to easily toggle back between candidate stages in Recruiting if someone is moved by accident
8. Don't like that all candidates disappear when a job is closed and don't come back if reopened (what happens if a job is accidentally closed?)

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding has helped us streamline our lengthy onboarding process by creating online forms and automated notifications. There is much less back and forth and chasing down new hires to get their forms complete.

  ### 41. US focussed onboarding tool

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

standard forms for U.S. for I9, etc... possibility to customize your own flows

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

fact the tool is clearly focussed on U.S. customer base makes it less interesting to roll out this tool in a global organisation

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

Good choice for U.S. customers, check again on the market if you are a global company

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

standardizing our onboarding processes

  ### 42. Easy to configure and manage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thuy H. | Senior Human Resources Systems Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

Configuration is easy. Changes to workflow or tasks require minimum effort. Most can be done easily and quickly by the Administrator. Online help tonic is very handy. Learning curve is pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Reports: results cannot be remembered. If you view the task or employee (result), you cannot go back to the report results. You have to click "search" again to repopulate the results.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

yes

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduction in paper. Onboarding has helped us with tracking of completed documents and tasks.

  ### 43. Fantastic Support Reps, but they have a little way to go in order for it to fit Higher Ed better.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenna S. | Coordinator, HRIS, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I like that I am able to add videos, attachments, and links quite easily. I also LOVE that it integrates with Agile so I don't have to go through an entire profile creation in Agile.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

I wish that it also integrated with Learning so I wouldn't have to do as much maintenance.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining the process and engaging employees. We certainly have more we can do but we are working toward that.

  ### 44. We have really enjoyed using SilkRoad's Onboarding

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

Some of the top features are the forms validation on the Tax forms and the I-9. Making sure that the form is completed correctly from the start saves a lot of time on follow-up with the employee. Also, we have enjoyed the ability to make groups of tasks dependent upon one another so that we can ensure that the new hire and internal teams complete required tasks which allows for a smooth onboarding process. We have also been able to achieve 100% on all audits, because the documentation is organized and complete.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

The reporting really needs to be enhanced. Currently it is a data dump and then you work with it after the fact. It would be really helpful to have more powerful report writing capabilities with scheduled report deliveries and dashboards for managers.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using SilkRoad, we had a paper-based process. SilkRoad allowed us to automate the onboarding process - no more paper.

  ### 45. Gets the job done

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

It is really easy to create workflows for different types of hires. It also connects really well to the Applicant tracking system.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

It doesn't have the "prettiest" user interface but it is very functional./

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

This is a good product that can meet the needs of most onboarding process. It is likely best used with their applicant tracking system (ATS), which we use as well.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us to really organize our onboarding process, including IT setup (email, phone, computer, etc), benefits paperwork and anything else we need new hires to be set up for.

  ### 46. RedCarpet onboarding...

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlotty A. | Sr PeopleSoft HRIS Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

We only use RedCarpet onboarding....Easy to use, ability to create eForms, add task, group task, etc. We still have issues with users ignoring reminder notifications or not completing task, but at least they can now log in to see what are the list of pending tasks.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

Our dropdown lists gets way too long because are organization has lots of locations/business units/departments/job codes, etc.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easy for other depts to look at their tasks and only tasks related to them. They do not get notifications of tasks that they used to get cc on in emails under our old process.

  ### 47. Good Software

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I like the ease in searching for a candidate. When searching for 'John Smith', every job he has applied for will show up. The amount and types of information stored is pretty robust.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

It can be a little difficult to navigate if you don't know what you are looking for. For example, if you search for candidate 'John Smith' but he registered as 'John A. Smith' the candidate will not appear in the search.

**Recommendations to others considering Rival:**

It is kind of bare bones, but it really gets the job done.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SilkRoad is our primary recruitment software and we also use their Red Carpet software which is awesome.

  ### 48. Reliable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sibel M. | HR Operations Sr. Project Manager, Staffing and Recruiting, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

Silkroad technology is a reliable system it allow us enough flexibility to configure any document for signatures or information collection.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

It is slower than other systems such as workday or Technomedia

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It significantly improved our ability to manage onboarding

  ### 49. One of the best programs for my taste

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paorie J. | Degree, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

I like the fact that I can customize the recruiting experience for new employees based on a variety of factors, from location, position, management function, etc. We had minimal problems with new hires who had problems accessing the system.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

I would like the back end to be more and more open to Administrators so that we can better adjust our structures, notices and guidelines. Also, having the ability to send customer information to a spreadsheet/csv would be hugely advantageous.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our incorporation times have decreased, while at the same time we have been able to provide more information to candidates before their first day so that they have questions already formed when they arrive here.

  ### 50. User friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren D. | Director, Human Resource , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Rival?**

What I like best is that it's user friendly and it's all one product, not patchworked! We have all of the products so it has solved so many of our needs.

The people at SilkRoad! They are so helpful and truly want to help you with business solutions. Barbara Cannon is a great Champion Champion!! Too many others to mention.

**What do you dislike about Rival?**

I hate that HRMS has been abandoned! It's a fabulous product that I wish someone besides me still loved.

**What problems is Rival solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had no onboarding, no LMS, and not recruiting system, so many, many benefits!
