"Great for Outreach, but Needs More Teacher Control Over Contacts"
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

What I like best about SchoolStatus is how it simplifies parent engagement. The ability to call or text parents directly from my computer or the app. . .without sharing my personal phone number. . .is a gamechanger. I also appreciate that it automatically logs every interaction, which makes documentation for IEPs and student records completely effortless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

The primary drawback is the inability for classroom teachers to update student contact information. Because we have to wait for the administrative team or office secretaries to make these changes, there can be a delay in reaching parents when a number changes. A more decentralized way to manage contact updates would streamline our daily outreach significantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Parent Communication, Instant Responses"
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I use SchoolStatus to send a weekly message to parents to inform them about their child's activities in class and periodically update them on grades and behavior. I like the convenience of being able to message parents directly from my cell phone. I appreciate that I can quickly send a text message and get an immediate response, which saves me a lot of time as a teacher. The initial setup was very easy since our school uploaded all the contacts, and all I had to do was click on a specific child to message parents. I seriously have not had a single issue with SchoolStatus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Convenient App and Web Access That Makes Parent Calls Easy"
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I like that SchoolStatus offers both a web version and an app. The app has been really convenient for me when I’m on the go and need to call a parent. However, if I need to send a broadcast, I prefer the web version because it’s much simpler to use. I will add that I have some problems with the app from time to time. It will load and say that I have no contacts or parents in it. But it is a simple fix when I close the app and restart it. I haven't had to use the support option due to the interface being easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

I don’t like that the app sometimes doesn’t show any contacts, even when I know they’re there. It can be really inconvenient in the moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"School Status is a complete package for teachers."
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

After using school status for a number of years. I can truly say it is a great tool for teachers. I especially like the broadcast feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

I would like to be able to create subgroups easier. It would be nice to send a broadcast to a select group of students and not have to go through each one of my classes and individual students to do so. A tick mark to send the broadcast would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for Parent Communication"
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I like how it keeps everything in one place and makes communication feel simple and consistent. I can easily message parents, send updates, and even share reminders without worrying about whether it’ll actually reach them. It helps me stay connected with families in real time, which is huge, especially when I need to quickly address behavior, celebrate a student, or give a quick academic update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

Sometimes the notifications aren’t as reliable as I’d like. I’ve had moments where I sent something important and wasn’t sure if parents actually saw it right away, which kind of defeats the purpose of quick communication. Along with that, not all parents consistently respond through the platform, and we can't tell exactly which parents have interacted, so I still end up using multiple ways to reach people.

The interface could also be smoother. It’s not terrible, but there are times where it feels a little clunky or takes extra clicks to do something simple, especially when you’re in a rush during the school day. And when you’re juggling a full classroom, those extra seconds matter. There’s definitely room to make it more user-friendly and efficient for teachers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Tool for Parent Communication and Student Support"
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

SchoolStatus has been an essential tool in improving communication between school and home. As a school counselor, I appreciate how easy it is to connect with families through calls and text messages without using my personal phone number. The platform keeps a detailed record of all communication, which is extremely helpful for documentation and follow-up. I also value having student data, attendance, and communication history all in one place—it saves time and supports more informed decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

One challenge is that communication depends heavily on having updated parent contact information, which is not always accurate. Additionally, there are times when notifications (such as missed calls or responses) could be more consistent or noticeable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clear parent communication, but reliability and messaging workflow need improvement"
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

It documents our conversations clearly. It also makes it easy for parents to contact us, and for us to stay in touch with parents as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

It doesn’t update properly when I’m using it in the browser. Overall, it hasn’t been reliable or consistently working throughout the year. It’s also not easy to upload pictures and documents as supporting documentation for students. On top of that, it feels too easy for items to be removed or deleted from students’ information. It’s also difficult to access the dates and times for when parents were contacted or when they sent messages. Sending messages now takes too many steps. I do like the message preview, though. "SchoolStatus Makes Student Progress Tracking and Family Communication Seamless"
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

SchoolStatus simplifies complex data, making it easy to track student progress and identify needs. I love how it centralizes communication, allowing for seamless, logged interactions with families via text or call. This transparency fosters stronger relationships and ensures every educator is on the same page to support student success effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

SchoolStatus can suffer from outdated contact information, which disrupts communication. Technical issues—like missed call notifications and inaccurate automated translations—can also hinder parent engagement. Additionally, it could be overwhelming without clear "office hours," being considered as constant availability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Real-Time Parent Messaging Makes Communication Easy"
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I like that I can message parents in the moment and they can respond immediately. It makes it easier to reach out during the day instead of having to wait until the end of my work day to address praises or issues Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

Sometimes things aren't easy to find. We use it to upload IEPs to as well and you have to download them in order to see them instead of using the preview button. It would also be useful if you could see when other teachers have already called/messaged a parent about something. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Private and Public Messaging for School Updates"
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

Being able to send messages privately and publicly to parents and family about school events and information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

One thing I do not like is having to go through all the classrooms to choose the ones I want communications to go to. If the classes were grouped by main teacher and electives, it would be much simpler to select more than one class. Another thing is attachments; I have not figured out a way to make the picture show up in the message portion and not just an attachment. If there was a way for the photo to show up in the message body it would be alot better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
