# Can you add a friendly way of strongly suggesting parents reach out to teachers before blocking important calls and broadcasts?

Thank you for your question, Melanie! We automatically send a message letting parents know who is texting them before your initial text or broadcast. This way they are less likely to block you. However, we do not send that message every time. We don&#39;t want to cause them to get more messages and then block you anyway. I hope this answers your question.

Before using this with parents, it is highly advisable for the District to send out an email, post to social media, and post to the district website, that you all are going to be implementing SchoolStatus.  We did that with our district, at the recommendation of SchoolStatus implementation team, and that helped tremendously.  Sad to say, there are some parents today that are going to block regardless.  This is the world we live in.
