  6. Ansible is a simple way to automate apps and infrastructure. Application Deployment + Configuration Management + Continuous Delivery.

    Ansible review by Aiman N.
"The Swiss Army knife of automation scripting. My favorite automation tool.: - Great flexibility, with proper code organization you can automate any process you want at any complexity! - Ansible is very easy to setup, being an agent-less tool. You can get started without installing any software on the target machine where you would like to execute your automation - Great abstractions: roles (modules), inventory hosts and groups, facts (node information) and group-level as well as host-level variables. You can implement very complex automations in a very clean approach with Ansible abstractions. - A lot of modules available at your disposal. From simple file copying, to templated files, to services and packages management. You will probably forget bash syntax after using Ansible for awhile. Well, you can also use bash to accomplish tasks that do not have modules for. "

"JET BRAINS again the best: I'm a fan of programs from developer "JET BRAINS", so I decided to try TeamCity. At once I will say that I was not disappointed. It has a clear user interface and good navigation on it. The platform is quite flexible and stands up for all your needs. TeamCity provides a good set of functions for a building of your project. Also you can control assembling the project and then test it. An excellent user guide, it is complete and understandable. Excellent acceptance tests, most of all I use them. "

    Bamboo review by Ferhat S.
"Very very good.: It works. Out of the box. Well, you have to migrate to a proper database (the default installation uses an embedded H2/HSQL), but even that is not a hussle. There's a log analyzer that reports on the health of the server. Automatic backups on your schedule. The distinction between build and deployment projects and artifact sharing. Support for multiple deployment environments and tracking the deployed versions/builds for each environment. Agent infrastructure, so you can have build agents on different platforms. Great maven integration. Plenty of add-ons for integrating with peripheral tools such as SonarQube, Artifactory, npm etc."

"Puppet Enterprise makes it easy to classify machines and track changes.: I like how easy it is to track changes on machines. Also the ability to go back and look at previous reports to see what changes were made during previous puppet runs is really great. Further, the number of modules written for Puppet by third parties show it's maturity in the landscape of configuration management software."

  18. IBM Rational ClearCase is a software configuration management solution that provides version control, workspace management, parallel development support, and build auditing.

Rational ClearCase review by Anna H.
"Good for Version Control: I used CC for version control of codes in my company. I found it very useful because many a times a project would be divided into multiple sub projects and would be given to us for implementation. We can load the latest version and make our changes and merge to the mother branch once done. This gives good visibility and tracking of each individual's work. I also liked the functions like we could compare two version side by side. This was useful in reviews."

Octopus Deploy review by Augustina G.
"Excellent software to carry out application implementations with the highest confidence: This software without a doubt I like it mainly because its interface is very intuitive, it allows everything difficult to become simple from deployments of applications, implementations, tests, quality control which are tasks that can consist of a long time but when implementing this great service either in the cloud or on a server of your preference avoids all these hassles and the best thing is that it is not necessary to be a professional to handle it because even on your platform we can find videos or documentation that guides us step by step."

  32. IT infrastructure automation and compliance. Open source.

    Rudder review by Florian H.
"Best visibility and design flow: I can use Rudder to break the communication barriers I normally have to deal with in IT. Normally, there's "the technical stuff" and "the stuff management needs". Both are distractions from each other and fixing one doesn't solve the other at all. With Rudder I can easily show non-admins what's working, what we need to do, and they can digest that information to a complete understanding. Project managers, bosses and beginners can understand what's happening."

  36. Hashicorp Terraform is a tool that collaborate on infrastructure changes to reduce errors and simplify recovery.

Hashicorp Terraform review by Garett D.
"Powerful tool with growing pains: Terraform provides an easy to use, declarative, cloud-agnostic way to manage your infrastructure. There is a lot of power in being able to describe how you want your infrastructure to look, and then allowing Terraform to create/modify/destroy as needed. The fact that you can use the same tool for all major cloud providers, most smaller ones, and even many tools and services in the cloud space, is helpful to keep you from having to learn more tools to work with each service."
