**What do you like best about Rational Synergy?**

The overall power, especially versioning and conflict resolution. Also the flexibility to manage different ways of working.

**What do you dislike about Rational Synergy?**

Way too complicated and non-intuitive for the over-burdened software engineer. At the company where we used Synergy I was one of a small number of "Domain experts" tasked with helping others to use Synergy successfully. This ought not to be necessary.

**Recommendations to others considering Rational Synergy:**

Looka t simpler alternatives

None. Synergy was adopted by a previous company and used for source code management in all development, including new insfrastructure new applications and support of legacy applications including modified third party applications.

  ### 5. Poor CM software

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Rational Synergy?**

It is effective in presenting a clear layout of the file system when checking in and out files.

**What do you dislike about Rational Synergy?**

This is the bane of my departments existence, almost as universally hated as Satan. At a review session concerning our department, the main issue preventing us from getting our job done was synergy. It is TERRIBLE at going backwards, is TERRIBLE at merging, and is extremely poor at building baselines. Additionally, I have been told it is extremely expensive. Go with a newer software like Git.

**Recommendations to others considering Rational Synergy:**

Don't use rational synergy

**What problems is Rational Synergy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it as a version control system and a configuration management. It does a good enough job to not destroy everything.

  ### 6. No complaints so far

Synergy is very simple to navigate and submit assignments such as work tickets and software downloads.

**What do you dislike about Rational Synergy?**

I had used synergy for about about 2 years and my only complaint is that sometimes it freezes on me.

**Recommendations to others considering Rational Synergy:**

Very good system. Easy to use with large teams.

**What problems is Rational Synergy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Synergy is used for sharing software zip files as tasks throughout the company. It’s beneficial because it's Simple for everyone to access.
