Intuit ProConnect has become an essential part of my tax workflow thanks to its fully cloud-based platform. Being able to access it from anywhere, without the hassle of local installations or updates, saves me a significant amount of time. The integration with QuickBooks Online (QBO) for tax client invoicing is truly seamless—client invoices are automatically imported, which minimizes manual data entry and ensures consistency across the board. Additionally, its smooth connection with tax advisory software allows me to offer clients a more comprehensive suite of services with greater ease.

I also value the per-return pricing model. Although it isn’t the most affordable option, it aligns well with my “just-in-time” purchasing strategy. Paying only when I need to use the software helps keep my overhead low and expenses predictable. Another major advantage is its accuracy—the software is user-friendly for tax filing, and I feel confident that returns are prepared correctly without the need for constant double-checking. For the past two filing cycles we have supported our US business unit with Intuit ProConnect Tax to centralise returns, track review status and cut back on manual spreadsheet juggling. The goal was simple, keep returns organised by client and make status tracking visible for everyone. What I like best is the straightforward client-by-written layout. It sounds basic, but during crunch time it’s the difference between testing and knowing. The e-signature flow is the hero feature for us. Bulk print and e-file in batches is another win once you know where it lives. We used that a lot during the final week and it shaved hours. Overall, usability is good. The import story isn’t perfect. Legacy exports with odd address formats tripped the wizards, so we had to clean a bunch of records after the fact. It’s not a blocker just plan time for data hygiene. What I like best about ProConnect Tax is the ease of use and the diagnostic alerts that assist with the return review process. I love the IntuitLink feature that makes the process of obtaining documents from clients clear, simple, and efficient. I also love the document import feature that helps to lessen the potential for human error that can occur when populating income and other tax related information into a return. What I dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax is the Customer Service. My luck in getting knowledgeable agents to assist when I initially started using the software was so bad that I stopped reaching out for help and it prolonged the software implementation process. But that actually proved to be positive as it forced me to really learn how to navigate the software on my own and train my staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our small auditing group inside the company, handled annual tax return for North American partners and Intuit ProConnect Tax cut the amount of time we spent double checking random spreadsheets. Last year we used it to prep returns for roughly 45 clients. The best thing about Intuit ProConnect Tax is it’s auto fill capabilities which let us upload Excel exports and map fields , it worked on the first try for about two thirds of our clients which my team was not expecting. Navigating between prior and current year reports is quick too. I also liked the ability to tag “in progress” or “needs review” on each return. Bulk editing tools are there, but they are not super obvious, so for half a day I thought I’d have to upload client status one at a time. We also couldn’t link up our compliance calendar tool, so we just keep a manual list on the side. Still for regular US returns Intuit ProConnect Tax is so much better than old school file sharing. Intuit ProConnect Tax came up as a recommendation tool during our quarterly tax processing for a cluster of our international clients. Honestly, our team needed a way to coordinate tax data and endless Excel sheets before ProConnect. What worked best is the web dashboard. It’s a bit hidden at first, but once you find how to trigger batches, it’s a time saver. The downside of ProConnect is that it's built from Lacerte and therefore, I expected the majority of the same features and functionality with enhancements and improvements. If ProConnect can make features like the jump to feature work, the missing items and report work, invoicing with schedules/forms listed, and visibility for review better it will be a great program. Lacerte was much better at introducing a software to new preparers, ProConnect doesn't have the features yet and it makes it difficult for new preparers to understand where to input and make corrections; ultimately making my job harder and less efficient because I have to train and correct more upon review.
