AKA more problems created for us than solving. Even zero updates given when providing our contact to custom authorities, leaving us hanging. ### 2. Looking for an easy way to reward your employees? We used to simply leverage Amazon Gift cards, but this expands the options for our team and is more flexible to their interests. My favorite part of the UI is being able to personalize the reward messages with fun gifs or images, and including a personalized messages. The customer support has also been fantastic (frequent check-ins from their leadership team). Would recommend PerkUp to anyone looking to streamline their employer perks! **What do you dislike about PerkUp?** Very minor... but it did take some light training when we first rolled the program out. That's typical with any new software. Once you get the hang of the process and how to leverage the credits it's smooth sailing. No complaints for any of our employees over last two years. **What problems is PerkUp solving and how is that benefiting you?** PerkUp is helping streamline our employee rewards program. The advantages to both admins and employees are limitless! ### 3. Great idea, terrible implementation. Too many times my transactions were declined, including my gym membership which I've already used perkup for in the past. Their support is super slow and unhelpful, sometimes taking 3+ business days to respond to a simple question. When I got a late fee due to their issue with declining my ongoing gym membership, their only response was "Sorry! Try it again" without any offer of paying for the late fee. No one at our company knew what constitutes health and wellness, and it was unhelpful that there are many items or retailers that were not covered automatically, such as Apple Watch and Smith Optics (which is a sports apparel retailer). All in all, it was such a headache to use Perkup and I will never recommend them to anyone. The mental gymnastics to figure out how to use the perks was awful. **What problems is PerkUp solving and how is that benefiting you?** A method to give monthly wellness funds. ### 4. From choosing which site you want to use to transfer your balance is not limited. **What do you dislike about PerkUp?** Probably, the only downside I see from here is that there is still a lack of selections out there for other types of activities or opportunities for other users, especially for companies that are looking for more advancements in the well being of their employees. **What problems is PerkUp solving and how is that benefiting you?** Well, mine is pretty basic; I don't usually use different ones. But having Amazon as an option was the best move this program have as it helps a wider option that's not currently given within PerkUp ### 5. Their chat function does not work with Chrome, but it works on Firefox. Email responses have also been very prompt and helpful. **What do you dislike about PerkUp?** It was unclear that the suggested vendors on the Home page were a sample and not the universe of vendors that I could use Perkup for. I had to clarify that the list was non-exhaustive with a representative, and it is still unclear to me what would happen if I tried to use my PerkUp card at a vendor that was not approved. This inhibits me a little bit in using PerkUp. **Recommendations to others considering PerkUp:** Their customer support is top tier. I hope they can keep it up as they scale! **What problems is PerkUp solving and how is that benefiting you?** DashPass benefit is excellent as it's cheaper! But I had trouble with my account and implementing the perk in both my PerkUp and DoorDash accounts. Luckily, PerkUp was super responsive and was able to fix it. ### 8. If I had a magic wish it would be to have more UK-based options but I'm sure that will come with time. I'd also like email notifications telling me when my account has been topped up. For instance, as an employee, I receive $50 per month for cell phone costs. I can easily log in to apply them to my ATT account. **What do you dislike about PerkUp?** There are certain categories of perks that are loaded into my account that I am allowed to use and certain ones that I am not allowed to redeem. It seems to have a strong CX and support, although I haven't used it before. **What do you dislike about PerkUp?** There is confusion about the currency as I initially thought I had CA$25, but later I noticed it was US$. I figured it out when I wanted to load up my account. It's simple to use anywhere Visa is accepted and allows people to get a little something extra. At our company, we use it as a means to provide self-care funds to our team so they stay engaged, rested, and taken care of. You can add the card to Apple Pay or as a virtual card for online use, or get a physical debit card. **What do you dislike about PerkUp?** Currently, the interface on a mobile device is not built out, so the website is not really functional unless you access it from a larger screen like a tablet or computer. I don't know if they are working on a mobile app, but that would make the experience much easier. I also had some ongoing issues with getting a replacement card activated, but Thomas was super helpful and worked hard to get it resolved. **Recommendations to others considering PerkUp:** None! **What problems is PerkUp solving and how is that benefiting you?** As mentioned, we use PerkUp as a means to benefit employees and allow them to spend to take care of themselves, whether that's getting a coffee, a massage, or a meal with friends. The process of using these benefits is much easier than the alternative of managing and logging receipts with my company's expense department. **What do you dislike about PerkUp?** There's not much to dislike about PerkUp. While the company is still small, they are constantly adding new features and support for additional benefits. I like to stay up-to-date with the latest perks offered on the platform, as they may be relevant to my preferences. **Recommendations to others considering PerkUp:** When using PerkUp, be sure to explore the different areas of perks available. For example, for now, our company only uses food-related perks. The process to expense a benefit, such as a company lunch, was cumbersome as it involves manually uploading receipts to a company Google drive. Prior to this, we were sending amazon gift cards only to employees and now they get to pick whatever they want! **What do you dislike about PerkUp?** Not a huge fan of the fact that it's run by Stripe only because it's in USD and our employees have run into a few issues with some vendors where they won't let you use the card because it's catching the conflict that we are in Canada - we get this error message with some of the most popular options - "The credit card you entered is not valid in Canada. Please provide a valid credit card for Canada." **What problems is PerkUp solving and how is that benefiting you?** Takes all the guesswork out of providing our employees with a thank you and wondering if what you pick for them is something that they actually want. The virtual card works in a lot of situations and they show you which websites they have cleared your card for use on. Saves a lot of time from having to use a corporate card or request expense reimbursement. **What do you dislike about PerkUp?** There are still a few bugs in the system when it comes to transactions. They are usually easy to fix but can be frustrating at the moment. If there was one thing I would improve it would be to roll over unused expenses each month. The new feature allowing you to add personal funds to better take advantage of every penny has been quite useful. I'm excited to see what features are on the horizon! **Recommendations to others considering PerkUp:** A good choice for employee spending. Historically had issues with using this for professional credentialing but it appears the MCC/MIDs have recently been opened. **What problems is PerkUp solving and how is that benefiting you?** Only problems are related to my dislikes, unable to use to cover professional expenses, i.e. licensure, credentialling, and professional membership dues. This was something my employer stated I could cover upon joining the org but I don't think they were aware of the MID/MCC restrictions. I have realized though that in replacement of those dues, I can allocate that to other expenses I have such as the internet. ### 18. There are a couple of cases where I wanted to use my perkup card but was unable to, because the store didn't have google pay. **What problems is PerkUp solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am an employee receiving the perkup card, so it has been nice to get a little extra money to spend on pretty much anything.
