One thing I would like would be to be able to do even more with Omatic in my CDM. That's really a problem with what my CDM will allow access to and less an issue with Omatic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the product. It is user-friendly and fun to learn all that it can do. I took some trainings with a Omatic person when my company first started using this product and i've since learned so many other ways to get the necessary data I need into my RE database. With ImportOmatic, there are a load of excellent features...picking the best is difficult but I really like:

Duplicate search in built, so no need to add import/consituent ids to files before importing

Ability to handle add to existing record in the same import process as adding new records (due to duplicate searching functionality)

Dictionaries - being able to convert a value in the source file to a corresponding value in a database table Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are so many features and settings, initial setup of an import profile can be confusing, and there is potential for things to go wrong if you don't do it right. For example its clever matching can update an existing custom field without an import ID, therefore if you don't set up the profile to add a new custom field each time you can end up overwriting existing data by accident. There is more capability but if you are setting up a new import profile from scratch you need to assign the time to get it done correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The varying suite of tools really fills out all of the underlying flaws of some of Blackbaud's CRM software. From making different databases importing/exporting to each other seemless and easy, to managing external data in my system, I really like the robust features. Customer reps and implementation folks are great, but sometimes technical help can be a little hard to pin down and get in a timely manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hands down, what's made Omatic work well for us is the staff who have been willing to walk through issues that have arisen (and a few have). We're a team that sometimes needs solid handholding and Omatic has been willing to work with us to make that happen. Can't say enough what a difference that is from working with Blackbaud. Without being able to move forward with the Omatic Cloud, some of the information we need to move over into Raiser's Edge simply takes far too long. Without a faster, more automated option we can't do it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Omatic provides missing functionality in Raiser's Edge and allows users the flexibility to come up with their own solutions for difficult tasks. If something is missing in a Blackbaud product there's a good chance Omatic has a solution for that. Despite being a plug-in it takes full ownership of the connected software when running, which can cause occasional issues and requires careful planning of project timings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Once profiles are built, it's easy to import CSV files into a batch in RE. It was great to have some one-on-one time with the trainer to make sure Omatic was ready to import our data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It would be great to have a 6-month or 12-month check-in to see if the profiles you built in your original build-out are still meeting your needs and have some one-on-one help making adjustments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ImportOmatic allows us to import data into Raiser's Edge from many different sources. The duplicate matching algorithms help keep duplicates out of our database. I like that I can set up a profile and everything is ready to go when it's time to import the data. Overall, this tool gives us the flexibility we need to import our data. The Luminate connector doesn't work quite as well as I expected. Runs slow and certain profiles don't work. I wish it had better 2 way intergration with Luminate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Once you have set up an import script any user can import data to the database without concerns about the lack of control associated with Raiser's Edge imports being used by inexperienced admins. You can also expand the way in which dictionaries work using regular expressions, when you get the hang of them the world is your oyster! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It takes a while to get your head around setting up a script but the training is good and you can copy previous scripts to build on them. I have found it difficult to find good support for the all-powerful, regular expressions and have worked out how to do things by trial and error combined with a lot of googling. The error messaging for exceptions is not very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We use Omatic to integrate between our database and our email client and it's SO helpful! It's been really wonderful to automate so much of the process -- getting people into our email system faster and more systematically. It's also, and quite critically, tracking those unsubscribes in real time so we can unsubscribe in our database as well.

But, the most unexpected benefit has been finding duplicate records that our database didn't catch because the email existed as a secondary email on a record (and our database only scans primary). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish that some parts were a bit more automatic, especially the longer I spend in the system. I spend time daily manually discarding everything below 72% for certain formulas and it'd be nice to set a rule on that or to say if XYZ in this 1:N match match, send it forward (they usually land as an 87% match). These were helpful in the beginning as I began to learn the system, but now I know what my decisions will be and I wish I could automate it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
