Some issues are not the fault of Omatic since the source of data has not allowed all needed fields to be API, which can create challenges, but still doable. **What problems is Omatic Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to pull data from our processor into our CRM using Omatic Cloud, without using flat files or manual data entry ### 2. Omatic Software fills this gap effectively by allowing us to manually input CSV or Excel files and map them into CRM, which is incredibly useful for handling our data. I appreciate the ability of Omatic to bulk add constituents efficiently, as I was able to add about a thousand constituents in one go, which is quite a significant feat. The software also excels in matching event registrants to our existing CRM records, which simplifies our event processes immensely. During the transition from Omatic to Omatic Cloud, I appreciated the intuitive design of Omatic's help articles that allowed me to independently set up formulas needed for the switchover. This aspect significantly reduced the daunting nature of the task, enabling a smooth transition. Furthermore, I find the matching algorithm particularly beneficial; it assists me in accurately aligning data from spreadsheets into our CRM, which is crucial for maintaining our database integrity. Over time, our organization has cobbled together multiple platforms that don't all have easy API connections, but both IOM and IOC make this hurdle easy to overcome. The Omatic support team (especially Allison Bolduc and Cody Murray) has been exceptional and made the company truly a joy to work with. **What do you dislike about Omatic Software?** Omatic Cloud switched to a new platform in January, and there were a couple of hiccups around the time of implementation. Some days we are still experiencing some exceptions that need to be processed, but I trust that over time the product will continue to improve. **What problems is Omatic Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Omatic Cloud to move data back and forth between Luminate Online and Raiser's Edge. It is a more hands-off process compared to our previous ImportOmatic process, which allows our team to not work on weekends and multitask during the week. Now we have a very flexible and efficient tool that runs continuously and handles all the syncing with very little human intervention required. It makes imports a dream to execute and data sharing simple to do. There is a flexiblity in their process that allows for organizations, especially non profits, to learn as they go. Such facility is often not part of any software integration process. **What do you dislike about Omatic Software?** So far, we have not discovered a dislike for this product. Import-Omatic is a lovely product to enhance my company's productivity. So, no dislikes in the 20+ years that I have used the product. Now, I have had some difficulties with our customer service aspect. Timely returns for inquires has not always been timely or consistent. This company grew fast and, due to the incredible need by other Raiser's Edge users to have an interface that simplied an overly tedious process, it was an immediate consumable. They needed to catch up on the support side of the picture. **Recommendations to others considering Omatic Software:** Try it, and you will enjoy it. I can only speak for Import-Omatic as it has been years since I used other Omatic products. I do recall they were just as simple and just as responsible in their planning and execution. This company is very thoughtful and consumer-minded. **What problems is Omatic Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have seamless imports and data management and handling with Omatic. Benefits realized have included time savings, intuitive product use, and how it integrates so lovely with The Raiser's Edge. That alone is invaluable to our work. We're also pretty pleased with the support we receive from the customer support team whenever we are stuck on anything. **What do you dislike about Omatic Software?** For the most part, it was the time it took to create profiles and map fields. I do understand that it was necessary work that had to happen in order to setup the system but I remember it being taxing when we had to do it. **What problems is Omatic Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Import-o-Matic to import online donations and constituent updates from Luminate Online to Raiser's Edge. We also use it to import data from other campaigns like direct mail, telemarketing, and newsletter mailings. There are things you can accomplish by using the global import features in RE7 but IOM is pretty smart in terms of identifying duplicates and that's a great feature that allows us to confidently massive data imports. ### 29. It is also very easy to tweak data points or set up entirely new data flows, these can be done and live in minutes. **What do you dislike about Omatic Software?** A few UI quirks, and I would like more flexibility to handle classes of data, such as automatically deleting data that has a 1:1 match in the destination system in order to isolate a flow for only new data. **What problems is Omatic Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** A new record in our source system can be copied over to our destination system within minutes, and not hours or days like we experienced with our previous system. We have a greater level of control and agility over the data flows and data points going over. We can reliably transform our data within Omatic Cloud. As a result, our marketing response when a new user signs up is much faster than it was before, and our marketing team has greater confidence in Omatic Cloud than they had with our previous system. ### 30. The origin of our connection to Omatic Software started with a mistrust of our CRM data. The fundraising platform we used had a direct API connection to Salesforce; however, there were no measures within this connection that relieved the probability of duplicate entries. So, in essence, donors controlled our database. To regain control, we implemented Omatic Software and put rules that would reference our CRM for pre-existing data points before forwarding new records. Moreover, Omatic Software also gave us the ability to clean our data from a stance of formatting by allowing us to make rules for both case and spacing. ### 32. But now with IOM, I am on top of them every single day. And therefore, we are thanking our donors EVERY day! I also LOVE the ability to have things checked on the records depending on how the data comes in, i.e., if a new donor gift with no address, the "has no valid address" box is checked on the record after IOM imports it. So efficient! **What do you dislike about Omatic Software?** The one thing that bugs me is that when searching duplicates on addresses, it will pull old/inactive addresses in RE as a match. So then I spend the time going into the record to see how they are connected, only to discover that they aren't - it's just an expired address. The knowlegebase articles on the website are sometimes difficult to navigate. Unless you know the exact terminology to use in the search function, you may not get results. The help articles tend to be a high-level introduction without going into complex nitty gritty, which is often what you need the help with. You can send copies of the profile and data files to get help but that requires a waiting turnaround time. One caveat about MergeOmatic is that it is query-based and you cannot ask it to merge just two specific records. **What problems is Omatic Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Omatic (ImportOmatic) was initially selected by our non-profit organization to handle daily imports of web transactions into our CRM. We had an expert at Omatic create the import profiles which were quite complex, but from that I was able to learn from it to create my own profiles for other tasks. The mapping is fairly intuitive and you can create dictionaries to translate non-uniform data, e.g., change US to USA. You can choose if you want to interact with each record during the import process which is useful for things such as address processing, or use it just to do a quick data dump. It also allows you to create new or append to existing data. I have found ImportOmatic handy for other things, especially mass data cleanup projects which can by done by exporting the data into Excel, cleaning it up, and then reimporting it to the database. Another Omatic tool that we use is MergeOmatic to perform mass clean ups of old duplicate records. It is highly efficient in identifying possible duplicates based on varying criteria, and allows side-by-side record comparison. Omatic is much more expansive as far as tools, settings, and options compared to the built-in offerings of the CRM software which can be restrictive and limiting. ### 35. The built-in service for Raiser's Edge offers almost zero intelligence for the transfer of information between Luminate Online and Raiser's Edge. You have to get human eyes on every single incoming change. This is not feasible when having to process thousands of changes. However, when incorporating Omatic's Luminate Connector, we can now process any number of records with the parameters we want to include in the import. The intelligence within the Luminate Connector allows us to control duplicates, incorrect addresses, and volumes of constituent changes all at once. We can even set parameters around the kinds of changes we want to get eyes on before they are ever allowed into our database by sending them to a separate file for review. Import-o-matic I didn't think we needed beacuse we can use the import tool within Blackbaud, however, after seeing demonstrations and hearing references, we purchased the tool and are in love. For example its clever matching can update an existing custom field without an import ID, therefore if you don't set up the profile to add a new custom field each time you can end up overwriting existing data by accident. There is more capability but if you are setting up a new import profile from scratch you need to assign the time to get it done correctly. **What problems is Omatic Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use ImportOmatic to perform a host of regular, standardised import tasks. These include adding gifts and donors from our crowdfunding platform and adding volunteers. MergOmatic provides a much better deduplication tool than those included with either RENXT or RE7. The duplicate matching algorithms help keep duplicates out of our database. I like that I can set up a profile and everything is ready to go when it's time to import the data. Overall, this tool gives us the flexibility we need to import our data. **What do you dislike about Omatic Software?** The Luminate connector doesn't work quite as well as I expected. Runs slow and certain profiles don't work. I wish it had better 2 way intergration with Luminate. **What problems is Omatic Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Importing data from our lockbox and event website would not be possible without ImportOmatic. Save us time and keeps us from having to do manual data entry. ### 50. You can also expand the way in which dictionaries work using regular expressions, when you get the hang of them the world is your oyster! **What do you dislike about Omatic Software?** It takes a while to get your head around setting up a script but the training is good and you can copy previous scripts to build on them. I have found it difficult to find good support for the all-powerful, regular expressions and have worked out how to do things by trial and error combined with a lot of googling. The error messaging for exceptions is not very helpful. **What problems is Omatic Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Regular imports do not have to be done by the database expert which frees the DBM up to do more developmental and high-level things, and spreads the load. ## Omatic Software Discussions -
