The integrated management console is a great feature which really helps you see realtime database contents.
Another great feature is the ability to save specified SQL queries as stored procedures, which helps reduce rework typing the queries over and over.
MS SQL Server also has an integrated backup option which is missing for all other DB programs. Users have to purchase third party applications, or create applications using scripting to backup databases which is a pain for development and backup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its steep charges for licensing makes it an unattractive option considering Oracle DB is way better and much more stable. Though MS SQL is good looking and feature loaded, it cannot handle tonnes and tonnes of data and will start having bottlenecks.
One of my clients who used to store all the data it had generated in the last 4 decades had migrated from Oracle to MS SQL and could immediately recognize it wasn't a very smart move. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
