## About Mend
Patients rarely use portals, and EHRs were not designed to support the full patient journey. Mend solves both challenges by giving outpatient mental and behavioral healthcare organizations a fully integrated patient engagement platform that makes it easier for people to enter care, stay connected, and follow through with treatment. Mend is used by CCBHCs, Community Mental Health organizations, Substance Use and Alcohol Use treatment programs, group practices, and many other outpatient behavioral health providers with 25 or more caregivers. Our platform connects every major touchpoint in the outpatient experience so patients and staff can move seamlessly from scheduling to intake to ongoing communication without switching systems or navigating unnecessary steps. Organizations rely on Mend for self scheduling, digital intake, automated forms, two way patient messaging, reminders, Smart Waitlist matching, online payments, and video visits. Patients can complete everything from any device through a single integrated workflow, which significantly increases participation and reduces confusion and missed appointments. Mend works alongside leading EHR systems, which allows teams to enhance their operations without replacing their system of record. Staff reduce manual work, lower phone volume, and gain clearer insight into daily performance. Mend also provides AI attendance prediction, measurement based care automation, and real time operational dashboards that support higher provider utilization and stronger organizational outcomes. Patients gain a streamlined and accessible experience that supports timely treatment. Organizations gain higher show rates, increased revenue capture, and more time for mission centered work. Mend exists to make access to mental and behavioral healthcare more convenient for all and to help outpatient organizations deliver effective and compassionate care at scale.

  ### 15. Full of Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kāhla H. | Therapist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

I love that Mend is full of features. My favorite is the ability to send mass messages to all of my clients, alert clients via text if I'm in session with another client while they wait, and the ability to see/know when someone is in the waitlisting area. I also love being able to type my notes while in session.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

I think mend is straightforward to use and understand well. Once it was explained to me, I got it pretty fast

the part I dislike is when I am trying to schedule, and it shows me all pink or its white, and I schedule and then finds out it didn't load right, or something but this doesn't happen too often

**Recommendations to others considering Mend:**

I like using mend, and I find that it makes my job easier to do

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some of our members still don't want people in their homes, and this gives them a way to do the visit still so I think mend is helping some people out this way

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Mend?**

Text reminders. The clients have a hard time remembering appts so it is VERY helpful.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Scheduling the actual appointment takes longer than I would like it to. I feel like there are too many clicks and it loads slowly.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to text appt days and times increases patient care for our facility.

  ### 21. Overall good experience, some inconveniences with connectivity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

I like the interface having quick access to upcoming sessions on the dashboard. I use most of the tools, from adding clients to scheduling clients to engaging in telehealth sessions.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

I wish scheduling was easier and more streamlined. I don't like that documents are immediately uploaded through the Mend inbox once you select them. Patient's access to the Mend inbox could be more direct.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communicating through messages is definitely easier for some patients who are busy during the day. Details on session duration and archived session conversations are extremely useful.

  ### 22. Mend: Teletherapy made simple

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Naomi R. | PHD Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

I enjoy the connectivity features letting you know when internet is good on the provider and user's side as it helps to troubleshoot issues. I like that sessions can be recorded which is beneficial for me as a graduate student clinician receiving supervision.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

I don't particularly like that the screen sharing feature is difficult to use while keeping the provider's camera on. The whiteboard feature also tends to have troubles.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Completing my therapy practicum phd program course during a pandemic instead of seeing clients face-to-face. This is improving access to crucial mental health care.

  ### 23. I like how it is user friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie D. | OAS, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

I like that everything is clearly understood

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

There are to many screens to continue to schedule a patient

**Recommendations to others considering Mend:**

Its hard to see what the availability is for appointments. The way it loads it is not user friendly.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can never double schedule. Which I like. It makes sure that no one is doubled booked

  ### 24. Mend provides access to our services for patient who wouldn't otherwise have access.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

Mend is user-friendly and does not have huge technology requirements. It allows us to reach patients with our services who, for a variety of reasons, would be unable to access our services. This has certainly been true during the pandemic, but also will continue to be true once quarantine has been lifted.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Not much comes to mind. There are a few times when Mend does not work, which can be frustrating for provider and patient. However, Mend is quick to fix the problem, and their customer service has been excellent. Though the tech requirements are minimal, there are still patients who do not have access to the tech requirements, which means we cannot reach them via this method.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to reach people in need of physical and mental health services that we would not have been able to reach otherwise. This includes keeping people safe at home during the pandemic, but also people with transportation and financial difficulties, childcare needs, and anxiety about leaving their homes. In addition, we have found that some people are able to engage in our services easier online, due to being able to be somewhere they feel comfortable while interacting with us.

  ### 25. Questions Answered

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert D. | Senior Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Mend?**

Scheduling convenience, evening hours, being able to converse with knowledgeable professionals.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Being asked to commit to direct payments after the registration process accepted my insurance coverage.

**Recommendations to others considering Mend:**

It will save both patient & provider time.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was clarifying how & when to proceed after a positive Covid-19 test.

  ### 26. Good product and great service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen S. | Pediatrician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

The system works well the large majority of the time, but when it doesn't Mend support has been very responsive. They have been able to fix issues quickly and effectively.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

I wish it integrated with our EHR scheduling so we didn't have to put appointments into both systems, but once a patient has a Mend account it is fast to set the appointment.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Occasionally we have internet issues - usually on the patient end. The system will pause the video and allow the conversation to continue if the bandwith is low. Other systems we've used just drop the call in this situation.

  ### 27. Dr. Mackey is a wonderful psychiatrist

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher L. | CADC and Drug Coach, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

It's so convenient to not have to drive to appointments. Dr. Mackey cares about his patients and doesn't just put them on meds without monitoring them

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

The application lags sometimes and the feedback in the sound needs a little work done so it's easier to hear the doctor

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My core issues from childhood were triggering me to overuse some meds. I have found through psychiatry that I'm valued and have purpose. I wouldn't change anything.

  ### 28. Updates make Mend user friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

Mend is an easy-to-use platform with great customer service. They are always responsive to any questions I might have and helpful to my clients.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Mend's mobile app doesn't allow for the same features that the desktop version does such as the chat function. Most of my clients use the mobile app so it would be nice to have the same features.

**Recommendations to others considering Mend:**

Much better than other platforms for connectivity

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to reach my clients no matter where they are and get them the help they need. I've been able to get paperwork signed quickly and efficiently as well as keep organized.

  ### 29. Great Nurse Visit

**What do you like best about Mend?**

It's easy to maneuver- they're constantly changing for the better!

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Sometimes it can be frustrating when MEND appointments do not transfer over to our practice's EMR.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MEND appointments crossing over to EMR.

  ### 31. Very user friendly and highly recommended

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob S. | Medical Assistant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

The site is so easy to use and if a patient has any issues with the link it's simple to resend one as well as a reminder text that the appointment is about to begin.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

To be honest I don't have anything that I dislike about the site.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As covid is still an issue for most of our patients, mend is the best way to stay in contact especially the ability to visually see how the person is physically doing as well ans that's a big plus.

  ### 32. User friendly, responsive support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel U. | Clinical Informatics Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

Customer support is quick to respond. It is easy for patients to join video calls. Mend offers their own technical support for both our staff and patients, which reduces the strain of support on our own tech support. Controls within video visits are intuitive and easy to use. There are several great features, such as the ability to mark visits as checked in, ready for provider, ready for checkout, etc. In a busy clinic these features help to keep staff workflows efficient.

Reporting is another useful feature. It is relatively easy to look at various statistics on each appointment or overall trends. Adding new users and providers is also an easy process.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

The patient alert text messages could use improvement, but I know that is in the works. Although reporting is easy to access, it would help if more explanation was provided on how to interpret the reports. Some of the metrics can be a little confusing at times. Fortunately customer support has been quick to respond and help answer any questions.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Mend as a platform for virtual urgent care as well as more traditional telehealth visits across a variety of specialties.

Mend makes it easy to deliver video visit invites to patients via text messages. Additionally no app is required, which makes it much easier for patients to quickly and easily join visits.

We are also working on electronic health record integration. The ability to integrate our current software with Mend is a large benefit, as it reduces the amount of duplicate work our staff needs to complete.

  ### 33. Mend TeleHealth

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin P. | Interim Director of ITS, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

The best part of Mend is our clients report higher engagement and satisfaction after switching to this platform. This has led to a decrease in no-shows/cancellations strictly based on previous technology challenges. Internally, forms automation, EHR integration and appointment notifications have significantly simplified our TeleHealth workflows compared to previous solutions.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Only allowing an email address to be associated with a single individual causes issues with families that share an account or where a parent would want to get all appointment notifications. While a minor issue overall, it would streamline the workarounds necessary for dependents.

**Recommendations to others considering Mend:**

In comparison to other TeleHealth products, I have found that the value provided by the Mend platform has been significant. Previously, we used up to three separate products to achieve what Mend offers. The decrease in administrative workloads coupled with staff's rapid acceptance would have been significant on its own but when you add in the improvement in client satisfaction with the platform there is no comparison.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the EHR integrations from MEND to fully automate our TeleHealth appointment creation/notification process and to consume completed client forms back to their chart. Only needing to manage the calendar in our EHR significantly improved our appointment accuracy over previous systems.

**Official Response from Matt McBride:**

> We appreciate the review! Related to your comments about third parties, Mend is doing more to address third party communication than any other platform. Your account manager can share additional details, track, and update you on these features once released in March/April of 2021.

Every third party scenario is being whether parent, caretaker, translator, transcriptionist, provider, etc. Across telemedicine and forms, Mend is working hard to make sure you are covered with flexible third-arty workflows! Thank you again for the review!

  ### 34. Love it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

It's clear and easy to navigate. Even if I don't have a shift for a few weeks it's easy to get back in the saddle quickly

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

It freezes on occasion and the video quality isn't always great. But I understand that could be coming from the patient's end

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's enabling us to see patients virtually. It does the job!

  ### 35. This IS the platform you've been looking for!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Toni M. | Physician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

MEND allows me to securely and efficiently communicate with my patients.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

There is nothing I dislike about the platform.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a family physician working in direct primary care. Before discovering MEND, I did not have a way to connect securely with patients outside of phone calls. This made office operations less efficient for me, and less fulfilling for patients. I've been using MEND for about five years now, and it has made my practice much more efficient and streamlined. Patients love that they can message me securely through the platform at any time, schedule appointments, see results, etc. all in one place. Nowadays, patients expect more than just good healthcare from their doctor, they expect to be able to engage more in their care, the way they're used to engaging in other facets of their lives. This gives them a sense of empowerment, and also helps keep them motivated to stay on the right track with respect to their health goals. The platform has been reliable from the start, and I would not want to practice without it.

  ### 36. Very helpful app

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike S. | IT Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

Mend offers our staff an excellent opportunity for consistent care, even during a pandemic. I am an IT Admin, so my favorite part about Mend is that it works all the time, and I have to work with it very little. It's very user-friendly, easy to create and edit staff, providers, and patients. Their best feature is their support staff, always available on chat, super helpful, and very friendly!

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Not sure I have one, they are very good to work with.

**Recommendations to others considering Mend:**

Keep up the good work, and your awesome support!

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest thing Mend helps us with is staying connected and keeping our appointments with staff so they can use the virtual visit feature.

  ### 43. Mend Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob W. | IT Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

It helps patients keep their appointments. I'm suprised at the number of clients that rely on it. Counselors also have this peace of mind that the patient is going to show up for their appointment because the patients are getting these reminders.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Troubleshooting when a patients says they aren't receiving reminders. I have to look to make sure that information is setup correctly in two systems. Then email someone else to troubleshoot.

**Recommendations to others considering Mend:**

None at this time. It has met our needs and has been easy to use and the Mend team has been great to work with.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having Televisits send out reminders the day before an appointment. This will help the clients get the reminder the day before their appointment.

**Official Response from Matt McBride:**

> Rob - do you want to explore an integration that can automatically ensure that the two systems are in sync? We have a wide array of integration options with most EHR systems.

  ### 44. Mend delivers on partnership, collaboration and customer influenced innovative solutions!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madison B. | HIT Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

Have every feature we need and more to come

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Have not found anything yet.............

**Recommendations to others considering Mend:**

You may find products that seem comparable - but they will not partner with nor support you like the Mend Family wil

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mend far exceeded our expectations with their forward thinking and above all else open to collaboration and innovation.
1) Simple-standard-state of the art telehealth platforms with new and amazing features every day
2) Ability to generate appointment reminders for our clients
3) Bidirectional integration capabilities for demographics scheduling and intake forms
4) the ability to have them monitor and oversee much of the implementation process of the telehealth platform for you (we are a small agency and need the extra support)
** there is so much more that they offer and can do - but our other technology is not quite there yet

But above all else it is the Mend Family that has been our greatest asset. They are true partners and invest the success of their customers. Many vendors say reach out any time (or submit a ticket). I have never had that experience nor had to wait for a response from someone on the team - even if it wasn’t who I originally reached out to. The team values, understands and goes out of their way to ensure all is functioning optimally because they understand the great importance of the product & services they are providing.

  ### 45. My experience thus far with Mend as been great it is a very helpful.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

The most helpful part is that members can easily access the link that is provided

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

What I dislike about Mend is that sometimes it moves slowly when trying to assist a member.

**Recommendations to others considering Mend:**

Mend is very easy to access

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mend helps with Nurse Practitioner visits with a member through a video chat, which is better sometimes than going inside the Dr. office.

  ### 46. User friendly experience for provider and patient alike

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

Very intuitive features for our providers conducting the appointments and for the patients utilizing the platform. Allows patients a quick and easy process in signing up for appointments via Mend. We were able to integrate the sign-up process into our website for increased visibility to our current patients and any new or potential patients looking for our service offerings on our website. Mend Implementation and Customer Support teams have always been accessible and helpful when troubleshooting issues or looking for ways to improve our Mend utilization. They are constantly looking to improve the provider and user experience and we receive constant communication regarding new updates that will be coming out. Overall, have found Mend to be nice telemedicine product for the service we have utilized it for.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Lacks some customization options that our organization was looking for in terms of where patient information can be captured and the resulting reports that can be generated. This has lead to some additional manual work on our end to capture the information and data we find useful in looking at our conversion rate of patients that use Mend. We also had some difficulties when trying to fully integrate Mend with other platforms that we are looking to utilize with our patients. Patient feedback assessments are slightly limited to customization for the information we would like to capture.

**Recommendations to others considering Mend:**

Great user experience for medical providers looking to begin a telemedicine pathway for their patients. Would suggest thinking about what other products or software (EHR, etc.) that you use which may need to integrate with Mend for optimal functionality.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Has produced another pathway for patients to see our medical providers. Mend is used to help dictate appropriate plan of care via an initial consultation which can then lead to further medical services via our brick and mortar locations or telemedicine services.

**Official Response from Matt McBride:**

> Thank you very much for the review! With Mend digital forms we can capture any data imaginable from your patients. We can ask demographic, health history, or other question. We can collect consents, esignatures, photos, clinical assessments, or any other form you collect today on paper. We have full reporting capabilities on Mend forms.

Mend also has very robust integration capabilities and 100% API coverage. We can integrate with just about any system that is HIPAA compliant and open to integrate with. Again, thank you for taking the time to post the review!!

  ### 47. Continued Growth and Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Candice M. | C, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

Mend did a great job of developing their platform to meet the needs of our mental health company. They continue to make improvements and meet with us monthly for our input.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

We do continue to have some issues with poor connectivity, lost video or audio for both providers and patients.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a list of tasks that we meet to review on a monthly basis. We identify those of priority and discuss progress made. Once complete we review the next priority tasks. This is extremely beneficial to us because they are always looking to improve and help meet the needs of our company and to the best of their ability make it customizable.

**Official Response from Matt McBride:**

> Candace - thank you very much for the review! We will not stop working for you until we have the best connectivity of any system on the planet. Feel free to share more feedback with us on this so we can help. Most errors are due to bandwidth and CPU utilization on the given device. Mend works hard every day to support lower and lower bandwidth connections and older devices to help as many patients as possible.

We track every error platform wide and work to reduce or eliminate as many as possible. If an error does occur, we are now providing the top 3 solution automatically via Mend Bot to the user based on the specific error. We are checking the connection of every user and customizing both what they send and receive to maximize connectivity.

Thanks again!!

  ### 48. Patient-friendly, three-way-enabled televisit suite with relatively few glitches

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mikhail P. | Dermatology Practice Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Mend?**

The core functionality that is essential for our practice is the ability to have a three-way video call, with the nurse participate on the call with the patient and the physician. This software package works well and allows the hand-over from the nurse to the physician and back to the nurse for check out with no issues. The system is reliable most of the time and is super easy to use for the patient. They can use any device with a camera and a microphone with nothing to download and a simple link to follow, accessible by name and date of birth. Simple and functional.

**What do you dislike about Mend?**

Glitches occur occasionally, unfortunately, and a Murphy's Law would have it - at the most inopportune time. Patients, nurses, and or the provider, struggle to enter the virtual exam room from time to time. There is also a muffled sound problem we routinely encounter within the first 30 seconds after the connection. However, these glitches are minor, compared to other televisit packages we've used. We know, however, that Mend is tracking the issues and making progress in addressing them - we have noticed the improvements.

**What problems is Mend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to reach patients that would otherwise would not come into the office because of the pandemic or other concerns. Televists provide convenience and are nearly as effective as in-person visits for our practice.

**Official Response from Matt McBride:**

> Mikhail - thank you very much for the review!

I would also recommend a couple of workflow options for you. First, in March, 2021 we are releasing additional third-party workflows to continue to be the easiest platform on the market in terms of adding third parties before or during a session. Please watch out for those announcements.

The muffled sound issue was addressed and fixed for you.

If nurses and providers need to go online with the patient at different times in the visit, our queue and transfer features could be interesting to review with your account manager.

Again, we appreciate your review!!
