What do you like best about Hostaway?

The best thing about Hostaway is the support. They are easy to get a hold of, very knowledgeable, and always helpful. I had complicated PMS setting and automations that took a lot of work to migrate over from Guesty, and Gabriel spent a lot of time with me getting all the settings just right. Also, in between on-boarding sessions when I was stuck on something, their 24/7 call support was ready and willing to help. Even joining google meet sessions with screen share to resolve problems and walk me through features I was unfamiliar with. Overall I'm super glad to get away from Guesty and on to HostAway. What do you dislike about Hostaway?

Like any software, they are improving things. I like this way better than Guesty, but one of my main reasons for changing was the improved API integration with Airbnb which allows the selection of who the message sender is in Airbnb when sending messages from Hostaway. This is not perfect as you cannot set a default sender, which I didn't know. However, I raised this concern and got a very nice email from the development team letting me know they will actively work on this. They are even leaving my ticket open to let me know once it has been completed. This is such a far cry above the service level of Guesty, I can't even begin to tell you. What do you like best about Hostaway?

Hostaway delivers exactly what they advertise, plus more. From the get-go our assigned ambassador, Fatih, has been incredibly helpful and right next to us every step of the way. Right away we set up the connections and got access to the main functions we were interested in, but the more we use the Software and the more we consult with Fatih, the more things we unlock and access.

They've definitely spent a lot of time thinking about what a host/property manager needs out of their software and have made it easy to access and tweak. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a serious channel manager, coming from experience having used 2 other APIs in the past. I can't stress out enough how amazing it is to have a really helpful, always available and cheerful Customer Support Agent at your side, who speaks clear English. What do you dislike about Hostaway?

So far I dislike two things, which is the lack of a night-mode (as I use it on every application and I think it's mandatory) and secondly, the lack of auto-translation, or a translation button in the inbox. Three things come immediately to mind. First, the feature set within the application is very rich and capable. Second, since nobody can be all things to all people, Hostaway partners with with tons of 3rd-party providers in building out a large number of integrations, allowing businesses to tailor Hostaway for their own unique circumstances. Finally and most importantly, their tech & customer support is top notch, allowing for email or phone support 24/7, with quick and speedy response! Yes, the platform is expansive and takes time to learn but the team around the product makes it easy to come to speed on any topic you can think of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Hostaway?

Channel Management: What I love about Hostaway is that it offers direct integrations with all major booking channels (Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, Expedia, and more), allowing you to sync rates, availability, and reservations automatically. This eliminates double bookings and saves tons of manual work.

What do you dislike about Hostaway?

Customer support is inconsistent. I was locked out of my account, with no phone number work on and nobody responding helpfully on the support number. This was critical as as a business owner, I could not see what was happening on my account when I had active reservations. Hostaway also has lots of hidden fees which I wasn't aware of prior to using it initially. Firstly, they take a % of the booking fee for direct bookings (despite calling it a free booking engine). This means we now have to go out of hostaway to handle payments for direct bookings, which really defeats the purpose of using it. We were also forced to switch to Airbnb's 15% host only fee, which wasn't made clear prior to starting. We took advantage of lots of extra features such as smart lock integrations, but this is just an additional fee on top of the smart lock subscription fee we already pay to the smart lock provider. This seems unreasonable. So, in summary, I would say the product has been helpful in scaling listings, however, we are now looking elsewhere. I recommend comparing the actual running costs of this software with other providers, and agreeing an SLA where it is not possible to be locked out of your account Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Hostaway?

The customized reports you can create which allow you to layer in the number of fields which are important to your business. Being able to access the the Dashboard 24/7 is critically important part of using Hostaway, as I work from mulitpe time zones on a monthly basis. It is super easy to contact customer service which is what I had to do today due to a log-in issue.

The support service I received today from Pax was excellent, very professional and personalble. He was a 5 rating level on a 1 to 5 scale, with 5 being the best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hostaway?

Hostaway does not appear to be picking up cancellations where there are payouts to the 'Owner'. This I have to manually check from my side, on the key OTA platforms we use - Booking.com and Airbnb. I run the reports using the Cancellation Fees field and Booking.com cancellation fee field but they fail to report any cancellation fees, which I subsequently find in summeries on the Booking.com platform. I'm not liking that we are not connected to VRBO yet and that we aren't getting as many bookings during our month that is supposed to get us in the black. We chose a bad time to transition. We hope that it works out and pays off in the next couple months. Google's price is not accurate. We price higher farther out and lower closer to the date and google only shows the far out pricing. i would probably add more options to personalize the website and create catagories for 1,2,3,4 bedroom properties in a drop down box format on the home screen
