"Great product for Continues Integration for large organization"
What do you like best about Git?

Very intuitive when it comes to shared code and conflicts Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

1) You can't lock a file so others will not use it.

2) Some files (like .dtsx) doesn't have a versioning control, so if two employees work on a file (of this type) at the same time, the second push will end in erasing the first push without a conflict warning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GIT: Great CVS"
What do you like best about Git?

Git is a tool that every programmer should use, especially for the use and storage of repositories, which is one of its main features and I think that most programmers, we have used it once for this kind of work, the speed with which it operates this application is very high unlike others who want to do the same, the program has a very low weight, and works on almost any computer with windows or Linux, is very versatile, easy to install and use, is a great application that the developer community uses and keeps constantly updating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

It is a very strict application, where you must do your work step by step, each thing must fit with the other, absolutely nothing can fail, because if everything fails goodbye, it is a tool that needs a great time of work, and above all details, You can not miss anything, because you can damage hours of work, just by a small calculation error, it takes a lot of time to read and learn about the correct and complete use of this tool, I have seen that several fellow programmers get bored easily of this application, and look for an easy way, just to avoid reading or document a little more, the interface does not like me very much either, it is very basic. "Never really understood the importance of it until I used it. "
What do you like best about Git?

Git tracks and logs changes your make to your project on every step such that you can revert back to a previous state when something doesn't work out. I like using branching because everytime adding am adding a feature that might affect how the whole project works, I'm confident that I have a stable working version that I can revert to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

The only thing I dislike about git having to add a message to every commit even if you're committing a small change to your code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When we create a child branch from wrong parent branch, once we committed any changes in to it, then changing the parent is difficult. Need to use lot of workarounds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Software for Branching & Merging Strategy"
What do you like best about Git?

The best use of Git is for Branching and Merging strategy in which number of developers can work on their own feature without interrupting the other developer's code hence minimizing the chance of error and code breakage due to conflicts. It can be used for review purpose which is best practices for software life cycle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

It can be lacking where large files comes into picture and the data is changing frequently. Also, it doesn't support the commit across multiple branches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Although I haven't used another VCS, my pleasure with git has always been great! My main model"
What do you like best about Git?

Git is one of the most sophisticated tools Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

There is a piece of mastery curve for Git, I would encounter problems when participating in others. Navigating unique boards can be a pain. Sharing should be easier inside, there is no time when you won't be able to find an answer to your questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
